The Isle of Mag Buskt (week 10)

#1

Grim stood over Bill’s body trying to stem the flow of blood from the artificed tattoo. The ritual was held at the third stage and blood flowed freely from Bill’s chest. Grim worked himself ragged converting life back into the Uhryu.

After seeing the EEF and the Lur Union and the GNA take the island, Grim turned around and brought back the body. If the EEF medics couldn’t stop the blood he didn’t know who could.

–[Bill has obviously had many artificings done to his body. Three are active doing 5 Fire dmg, 5 chill dmg and 5 Melee dmg cutting open his chest so blood will flow. The others haven’t been activated and can only be activated by Mag Buskt or a Nightmare Lord. Present in this mission are all the characters who took part in the mission to save bill, including GRIM, GulTor’Uf, Fieldmarshall strykker, Tor’Lur of Ollur, and Lalder and Lalog’na of Auf Lalal, Uf’Na of Ka Gor and others.
Currently the Lur union army and FKM soldiers have 40 Ur Rhug and 30 Bruskti under close guard as POWs. OtO has been taken to an EEF base at Brez.
Mag Buskt has escaped as had his monster giant aquatic nightmare.
This thread will decide if Bill of GultorUf survives or if his tribe under Rapiog leaves to serve Mag Buskt as well adding its entire numbers to OtO under Mag Buskt’s control. However Bill cannot just choose to give up as it is not how he has been roleplayed so far.
Here is a story of great sadness or great redemption, I leave the power in the hands of the players.}–

Rapiog was numb, he had been bested in combat by another. This wasn’t one of those disagreements, this was for pride and leadership. His spirits were crushed, he spent a long time gathering his property together. But it isn’t his property now, it is someone else’s , this OtO. He for once started to look around, many gogs had come to the aid of Bill, more than Rapiog would have though. Many different tribes, many different individuals all showed up to save one gog. This kind of response was foreign to Rapiog, he expected one leader physically stronger to be leading, but that wasn’t the case.

These thoughts were paramount to his next decision; to him this just seem like the next step. Rapiog called for his tribal healer and had his former tribe members go find an immutable nearby. Leyas shut off when an immutable would touch it, perhaps the same would work here.

*Rapiog is asking his tribe members to go find an immutable to touch the glyphs, and getting the tribal healer nearby to take care of the wound when if they deactivate. [If the tribals listen]

Auf Lalder says to Rapiog and Grim "Make sure to hold his wounds. I will buy us time to figure out what to do by creating a ward of negate Leyas. This will stop all Leyas use inside the warded area.

I will use a negate leyas circle rather than a standard ward. I choose this over a ward against the leyas the tattoos used as a ward is a contest of skill/power. Mag Bruskt has more power than I and I have used this before.

But with that, he will need bandages. And if the EEF guys have some nanites, it may work on his since I will block the leyas from reaching him. Also, I have to sustain this, so this is not a solution, just a delaying tactic. Auf Lalyan, please heal me once I do this."

Then Lalder draws a circle around the Bill, large enough for someone to be by him tending to him. And with some concentration, puts up the negate Leyas circle with the ward directing inside. This should cause the Artificed Tattoos to cease to function while he held this ward.

(OCC Lalder is going to use the Negate Leyas ward Like the one he used on the Silvan undead with the except he will include the inside of the circle in the ward.)

Auf Lalyan then steps in to heal Lalder from the damage caused by Negate Leyas.

(OCC If this doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll try something else. )

Kolgol stepped out of the surf, wringing saltwater from his shortened fur. He approached the gog which everyone was so focused on. He seemed familiar in a strange way. Was that neon green fur? Yes, yes it was. He had worked with this gog before, and it saddened Kolgol to see him brought so low in such a vile manor. There was little he could do to help unfortunately, his own skills were in laying waste to his enemies in war rather than tending to those left wounded in it’s wake. He had not the skill to remove the artifices, nor to ease his suffering. He could resurrect him if he should die, but that was abhorrent to Kolgol, and he would never perform such an act.

“I am sorry to see a noble gog brought to this. If there is any service I can provide, simply tell me.”

He turned, looking for someone familiar of his union. Seeing Aufgog Lalder, he moved to his side.

“Friend Lalder, I can do very little to ease Bill’s suffering. I must make haste back to Ka’Rhug to prepare for a very important matter that we will discuss in…different company. Allow me to take some of the prisoners with me, so that I may begin trying to help them sympathize with our cause. I have sent word to a cargo ship to arrive here shortly after it delivers it’s current passengers. It can hold fifty gogs, and has five crewing it currently.”

#5

Lalder says “I would have no issue with this. Though I would suggest the Ur Rhugs only. The Bruskti are most likely better delt with by Kul Gul Rapi Bruskti. If they are willing and able. I will most likely not have the time myself to do so. Do you have enough guards to take them back?”

#6

“Aye, we should be fine. The hold was made strongly by human standards, and will contain them well, although if you wish you could send up to four gogs with us to assist. We are going to practically the same place so they would be able to return home faster than waiting here. The Bruskti shall remain here, as you say.”

#7

Lalder says "Sure, I’ll send 4 of the FKM. Have a safe travel. I’ll see you back at Tla’loc’al soon. "

Lalder signals them and they break into 2 groups. 1 group following Kolgol.

((OOC: first dealing with my misguided vampire. I will next post about what to do about the Bruskti.)

Ku’lal crawled through the brush, the zela poisoning was a slowly moving cold numbness spreading through his circulatory system. He came upon a dead bruskti, a blackened hole drilled perfectly through his chest. The vampyr had fallen from the main gathering into the jungle. No one would miss the corpse. He climbed on top of the body, a clawed hand pulling out the half seared heart. He knew instinctively if the zela hit his heart he would face final death.

It was a thing he couldn’t let happen, not while the militias goals were left unfulfilled. First to expel the djinni blood with its unspeakable power. He grasped his leather and kolgul bone dog tags imbuing them with as much power as he could think of. with that done he took his militia bayonet and slit his own throat. If he made a noise the misled tribes would find him and kill him. Even his own family would kill a fully transformed vampire.

The pain of severing his wind pipe was nothing, compared to the next pain. he had to fight the silver metal flecks in his blood to grow his claws. He drove them into his chest. He screamed silently as unbearable blinding pain arched through him. His blackened, still beating heart came out of his chest. and dropped into the new body. Once the heart came free Kulal Kul’Gul Rapi slumped down on the body lifeless.
Inside the chest cavity dark red tendrils of the blood in the heart twisted around the arteries pulling cauterized tubes to it. Healing the burn damage and getting the dead blood flowing. Kulal became aware again. His limbs slowly gained feeling and movement. He however was more focused on his new mind. It was full of a lifetimes worth of memories. At first remembering life through someone elses eyes caused him terror but he quickly realized he controlled it, he forced the memories into the dark recesses to be used as he saw fit.

His old body was decaying rapidly, as if he had been dead for weeks. Unfamiliar hands quickly pulled off his torque and tags quickly putting them on. He quickly field stripped and checked his springshot rifle for damage and he cleaned dead blood from his bayonet. He needed blood but his practiced ears easily made out animal noises in the jungle. Once he was back on the mainland though he would need something more filling than his meager ration of animals blood.

Mama rapigog arrived to the island on her airship. So many Bruskti dead needlessly she thought as they surveyed the scene. They landed on the beach and Mama Rapigog approached the other tribal leaders. “Da bruskti that died, what will happen to them?” She asked apprehensively. “And the ones that were captured, whats their fate hmm?”

#10

Lalder says "I don’t know. I was hoping you would take care of the captured ones as I do not know what to do with vampyres. Also I hope that you could bring them around to our side as well. I’m not sure what can be done with the killed ones. I know Light leyas hurts them, and I’ve never tried any healing leyas on them before. So what do you suggest Mama rapigog? "

#11

Looking up at Rapiog and Lalder, Grim shook his head. “I have seen this type of thing before. Back during the War, Rituals like this were used to interrogate prisoners of war. This olgog can survive this, but he may not want to. The Ritual will continue to hold at this point and injure him continually til it is complete or he goes mad from the pain. Only problem is that you need someone familiar with the ritual to complete it and well they were almost all killed during the War. We could probably find one but weither they would help you or not I can’t say.”

" I can look into it for you if you want."

#12

Mama Rapigog nodded, “They follow Mag Bruskt because he promise them a better life. Eternal night, da reign of the Bruskti empire.” She shrugged, “Da Bruskti we live with only what we take for so long, any future brighter than desperation. We can’t heal da bruskti, only give them some of our own life. We heal ourselves with the spirit of da nightmares.” She paused surveying the wreckage of the feast, “Any we don’t find, any we don’t heal they come back as vampires as da moon rise.”

She would go to the captured Bruskti, “Mag Bruskt, he call to us all. Tell us da time for da old ways is here, the time for da eternal night is here.” She shook her head regarding the gathered Bruskti. “Da Mag Bruskt is wrong. Da rest of the tribes and da hairless will never let da eternal night come. Da old ways be like we say. They old, they don’t work, that be why we fight for scraps of food, that be why we are hunted by the other tribes.”

“Da families need a new way.” She noted, “Dis season teach us that. We freeze and get sick while other tribes stay healthy. Da Kul’Gul Rapi family, we use da new way, we make allainces, we trade with other tribes. We have a place in da gog society. I will show you how we do this ting. Teach you da Bruskti role in da new society. You go back, tell da tribes mama or papa. Explain to them the things I teach you. They welcome to take to me about this ting. Just make them know, if da Bruskti to survive we can’t use da old ways.”

The other members of the family would be using conversion to bring back the bruskti they found. Explain to the same thing to them. Unless the other leaders stopped them the other Bruskti would be free to leave and spread the word about the fall of Mag Bruskt and the Old ways and the rise of the new. Mama Rapigog was a realist, most families would ignore her teachings or go out of there way to attack the Kul’Gul Rapi. Others would see her design and the prosperity it could bring. They would begin to try and learn their own new way, she would treat any family that came to her for advice or wisdom not matter how small as an equal and teach them what she had discovered about how the Bruskti can survive.

#13

Lalder says “I am good with your plan. Hopefully this act will bring more tribes into our nation.”

Lalder then turns to Grim "If you can find someone who can stop this, I would say its worth a try.

The only options I have been able to come up with is to kill him for now, and resurrect him if the tattoos go away, or if we find a way to deal with them. I’m not one to kill gogs just for a shortcut, so not a good option.

Or to have someone hold this ward on him longer. But it is not an easy ward to do. You need to know all of the elemental Leyas.

So I don’t have any real good ideas right now. Though I’ll continue to think on it. "

Kolgol stood before the Ur’Rhug who were now his prisoners. Soon the cargo vessel would be here, and they could be on their way. He supposed he should make some kind of speech or something, but nothing particularly came to mind. He looked out to sea, awaiting the arrival of his way home. He gestured for Lalder’s FKM recruits to stand around the prisoners like sheepdogs would when herding sheep. He assumed it would be fairly similar, as without a leader to guide them and unify them, the Ur’Rhug would probably just cede to whatever commands he gave them.

“Ah, hello everybody.” He managed after a time. He saw by the blank looks in their eyes that they didn’t particularly care for him. “I’ll be your new leader and guide. Soon you will come to see that the Lur Union is indeed the strongest and most worthy cause to support. By joining us, you guarantee glory and plunder for yourselves, and will most assuredly be in better conditions than before. You will learn the crafts of a trade of your choice, and will all serve a purpose in the great mountain we live in. You will not feel the cold of the season of Kol, and will have plenty to eat. We can even see about getting you some…clothing of some sort. You will of course be free to have families and such, but all we ask is that you work for the benefit of the tribe. If you feel you can accept these conditions and live like we do, then step forward and you will be invited to join us. If not, well, I sincerely hope you do not still value the things he wanted you to do.” As he pointed up at the ancient fortress. “That will get you the same fate that he earned, and most likely that his champion now faces. Come friends, let us return to a more standard way of life, return to the simple things.”

He stopped, waiting to see if anyone accepted his offering. Any who did accept would be given more prime quarters on the ship, while those that did not would ride in the lowest part of the ship, made for carrying cargo and such.

#15

The Ur Rhug that remained were a sullen lot, and angry the Earther military had kidnapped their leader.
They grumbled their way down to the lower decks cursing the ship and its crew as their jailers.

#16

Yagogi’al The Og’ab finally made his way to the gathering centered around the suffering of Uhryu Bill. He had been completely lost in thought after the tremendous battle, and amazed yet confused by the actions and the part he had played. With him he now carried the strange but powerful scimitar similar to his own, and yet very different. Normally, he would remove the hand of a tribesgog that lost their zela blade; this was a very different circumstance but would he, or should he be held to his own traditions. There was so much going on, and he would seriously have to put great thought to this matter. Oddly enough, there was the severed hand still grasping his new battle blade, definitely a strange day. Now he must divert his thinking to the matter of the Uhryu…

“As I see things, we all need to start making our way back home, and this included Uhryu Bill. Of course in his current state it would be rather difficult to do much of anything but we will need some way of turning off the the tattooing. I cannot permit him to just take one, but I will have a young gor’abs, Orgog’Ol holding the zela blade to Bill’s skin. The zela should be able to nullify the effects of the tattooing; thus we would use traditional non leyas medicine/healing to aid Bill and can then allow for transport. Hopefully for Bill’s sake, we can get him a bead of zela to wear around his neck or wrist, and then for the time being he will survive as an immutatable. Eventually we should be able to figure something out more permanent and suitable to his Uhryu ways.”

Kolgol sighed as the Ur’Rhug shuffled past, cursing him all the while. He wasn’t really sure what he had expected to happen, but he would have thought there was at least one or two intelligent gogs in the lot. Leave it to a Brezan to be stubborn to the last… His threat had been empty of course, he would never stoop so low as to kill unarmed prisoners of war. Still, they could pose a problem if the decided to band together to oppose him on the voyage. After the last of the prisoners had boarded, he gestured for the crew to seal the hatch leading to the cargo bay, and stepped onto the ship. Several moments later, the infernally stubborn old engine was started, and the ship began making its trip back to Unen.

He looked back at the beach on which his allies stood. He hoped they would be able to cure Bill, it would be trouble indeed if he did die. Still, he knew Bill had been in far worse before and survived, so Kolgol was fairly confident he would pull through. He motioned for the the FKM recruits to follow him, and showed them to their quarters, a re-purposed room that contained an area for them to relax on the voyage. He then walked to the bow of the ship and stared into the horizon, eyes peeled for trouble.

((They will sail to Unen, leaving the ship and its crew of 5 there. A contingent of 20 Ur’Tor, as well as two Balgogs will meet them outside of the city to escort them to Ka’Rhug safely. The FKM recruits will presumably leave whenever they are closest to their tribe’s home.))

Grim looked at the suffering olgog. thinking to himself, ‘well, stop the tattoos for now while we get a nightmare lord to finish the ritual.’

Walking over to Bill, he reached in a pocket and pulled out a small nightmare hide wrapped case. Taking a small spring shot dart, he stabbed Bill in the leg. (anyone looking at Bill in leyas sight will see him vanksh from the leyas) Looking at the surrounding olgogs, he says ‘try to keep him comfortable. the earthers might have some supplies to help his wounds. right now the leyas will not affect him.’

mutteringti himself, “now who would be able to find a nightmare lord fastest. well, i could call Terror or maybe Celyse. hmmm naw, they got enough problems. i know who and he loves the excitement. " pulling a comm crystal out of his vest, he says " hello switch board, i need to talk to McMurphy” over the crystal comes the sound of ‘Girl From Ipanema’

#19

After it plays for a few moments and after the switchboard transfers the “call” a voice picks up, “Hello this is Anise, Mr McMurphy is away on a top secret mission. Agent Grim what can i assist you with?”

#20

“Damnit, he would love this. Oh well, I am currently in the ‘Goblin Lands’ doing that ‘hearts and minds’ stuff, and I’ve run into a situation that could use a special touch. There is an olgog suffering from an ancient technique. To the best of my recollection, either the one who put the condition on him needs to finish the process, which just ain’t happening, or we are going to need a Nightmare Lord to finish it.” Pausing for a moment, he continues “Oddly enough for me, they are about the only people I don’t have a direct line to. I was thinking McMurphy would love to help. I was going to come ask in person but the olgog is in exceptionally rough condition. Ssooo, would you happen to be able to connect me to either a Nightmare lord or someone who could find me one, please, darlin?”
