The Giants in the Sand (week 11)

#1

–[This is a planning thread. First to post gets to set where it takes place (on a dune, in a leyas created bunker, in a planning tent etc). This open to all Tribes and all player characters]–

#2

Auf Lalyan hadn’t built one of these bunkers before, but why not her too. She created a bunker far enough away from the Gaints that they would not stumble on them. They could use the skimmers and fighters to get close quickly.

She will send out messengers to each of the members of the UTR, Lur Union, and GNA, letting them know of the location.

When gogs arrive. Auf Lalyan says “For the Gaints, we do have some of a plan. 5 of our pilots are really good against larger targets. We are going to at least put 5 Lur Union Fighters into this. Besides being a pretty good hammer, they can support the ground forces.”

#3

From outside the bunker, a large flaming skull peered inside the doorway. A Balgog of Ka’Rhug stood outside, completely alone. It crouched, finally sitting down with a muffled thud. After a moment, a crystal mounted in the center of its chest, a commcrystal, flared to life. A voice came from it,

“Hello to whomever I am addressing. This is Commander Eru’Khaz of the legion, and I have sent this Balgog to be of service to you. For the purposes of planning this attack, the commcrystal shall be your way to speak with me.”

#4

Auf Lalyan says “Auf Lalyan is here now. Others should join soon. I am planning on sending in a specialist pilots flying Lur Union fighters. About 5 of them I think. We don’t have the ground forces covered yet.”

#5

A young, female, Ur Rhug walks in, along with a male gog. Both are obviously Brezan. The are both dressed in leather armor, a metal shield in one arm, carrying Hob’tor spears and carrying strange trinkets around their necks. The Ur Rhug speaks first, “We’re from the Great Northern Army, Gang of the Uf Mag’og. Our elders say they saw some Yyan Li in the area. Sounds like bad news. You,” she points to Auf Laylan, “sent a messenger. As per agreement, we come. I am Djenn, he is Tze the Gor Gor. What is your plan?”

#6

As Yyan Kol and Kliej strode threw the dunes looking for the poor Yyan Li said to have been roaming the area they discussed more philosophy. Every few minutes Yyan Kol would use Earth sense to determine if they were in any immediate danger (LR 4, 6 auto successes). on one such attempt he was surprised to sense a bunker of sorts and decided that they should check it. For he and Kliej were here to save these poor Yyan Li. they approached the bunker stopping back a short way and called out “Hello? Is there anybody here?”

#7

A messenger brings Yyan Kol down to the room with the rest of them.

Auf Lalyan says “So the plan. Mine is not complicated. I planned on having some Lur Union Fighters that are especially good at taking down giants try to drive them off or kill them. Additionally using these fighters in support of any ground force there. Then have the ground forces move in from 2 sides that would flank them. This flank can be to either drive them in a direction out of our lands or to pin them and eliminate them, depending on what everyone thinks here.“

#8

After hearing the plan that was in the works Yyan Kol thought for a moment then responded. “My tribesgor and I have heard of these wandering Yyan Li and wish to try to end this with as little death and violence as possible.”
Looking around the room he said " I would like a chance for myself and Kliej to speak to these Gor. Hurting or killing them only helps the Mag MagGor. if we can subdue them and offer them aid they have a place within my tribe. Do you posses a means by which we may subdue them without causeing there deaths? Kliej and I will stand with any decision to try and help the Gor." He sat back and looked around the room to see the reactions of the others gathered.

#9

Auf Lalyan says "We have stun sticks that work on Olgogs and Earthers. Not sure their effect on Giants though. But I’m not wild about using half force on a bunch of Hungry looking Giants who eat Olgogs.

This I say, to make sure you have thought about your request fully and the ramifications if this causes us to fail. Also I only partially accept the helping of the Mag Maggor. We have to defend ourselves and the olgogs around from being eaten. If these giants are allowed to rampage, they will cause more damage and killing than if we end them now and quickly. This way the only lives lost are the giants.

Also How would we get them to stop and not eat us, much less listen to us?
"

(OCC, BTW: My note of Hungry looking is how I think anyone who would be considered lunch to something would reference something.)

#10

(OCC I just reread the mission, and only one standard and a youth, so change of plans)

Auf Lalyan says “We will let you try and stop them, but will have a Lur Union fighter waiting to strike. If you succeed, they will not attack.”

#11

“I realize it’s my idea to try to help them but I am willing to listen to suggestions of how to accomplish such a feat”

#12

Auf Lalyan says “Can your giant talk to them? I can make an explosion to gather their attention toward you 2. We could even summon you a chimera mount, to get yourself out if things go wrong But I think using your giant to talk to them, is the best way. Now the next problem is if they are hungery. You would have to drop a bunch of food they would eat. Most likely a few horses would have to be killed for them. I don’t feel like feeding them olgog.”

#13

Yyan Kol says “I agree. Olgog should be off the menu. Kliej and I will attept to talk to them, but I fear it is as you said about their hunger. I would need a supply of food as a peace offering and show of good will.”

#14

An olgog cloaked in black her face blocked by shadow entered, “The Yvan are a threat to us all. The Bruskti of Kul’Gul Rapi will aid in stopping them.” She heard the call for dissauding them without killing them. “If are to push them away without killing them we need to scare them, worse than they ever felt fear before. How we do that?”

#15

“They already seem to be scared and confused” Kol quipped

#16

Auf Lalyan says "I say we have 2 plans, one follows the failure of the first. And I only give Kols attempt a chance since the warmonger benefits from killing, and even this little at this time, I would like to prevent.

First Kol gets a chance to have him and his giant talk to them. If we attack before this, kol would have no chance. Kol, I recommend you feed them something before you try, or as a peace offering.

After this attempt, if they don’t behave or leave, we launch a blitz of an attack. We make it Loud and fast. This will either scare them off or kill them. I will send in a Lur Union Fighter with a summoner. The fighter will Launch Fireballs around them. And on them if they don’t start fleeing. The Summoner will summon a Chimera that will use fire and chill cone attacks. Making sure to funnel them in the direction we want them to flee. This should be very flashy. If someone else can add more noise, light, and damage, I’m sure they would break or be killed."

#17

Auf Lalyan hands Kol a comm crystal and says "We will need this back after the mission, but use this to talk to Rhagul who will be on the Lur Union Fighter.

Also we have room for 8 additional gogs on the fighter, so we can help some Olgogs retreat if needed.

So what do you think of the plan? I know for Kols part, he has some details that are needed."

(OCC I’ve got to post tonight, if I’m first, I’ll add some of the changes friday night.)
