And so it was that the Council of Al’ya avoided much of the blood shed of the United Tribes fight against the Mirror Crystal Fleet. Their leadership chose isolation in response to the UtRs Expansionist goals over the years, avoiding the path to a Provisional Colony, and choosing to remain one of the few fully Olgog ruled Independent Nations on the continent. They were a small nation, a Luxembourg, situated between the UtR’s Karovian Nationstates and the pirate tribal lands of free Unen Coast. While surrounded by desert they had grown much within their many tiered Fortress with its underground oasis.
They did not have the population expansion of the UtR, and did not have its flying farms or Carrier craft. In fact the few airships held by the Fortress Hob Rhug Dol had been destroyed keeping Mirror Crystal Invaders outside their borders.
And so it was when The Nine arrived in Al’ya, they brought with them an army made of those Gogol Gul had converted from the UtR and Mirror Crystal forces. Gogol Gul once again had his bone gag blocking his mouth as the Nine met with the Council of Al’ya, the Nine wished the Council to willingly give them a place to rest.
Seeing the great power wielded by the Nine and their promise to use this power to protect Protodoxa’s own Ceremonial Oasis, was enough for the Council of Al’ya to grant the Nine and their growing army refuge within the lands they held.
The Nine respected the leaders of Al’ya. They used Kulieks and other Leyas created creatures as Riding Beasts, and created their armor and weapons the old way, from stone and bone, wood and obsidian. While a few wielded metal, they were the trophies taken in battle from the enemy knights of the Church of One.
The Nine explained to the Council that the advanced weapons and Leyas artificed weapons of war being spread by the UtR were a threat to the entire Olgog species. Nakalok Gul said, "We once had an agreement from all the great Chiefs of Old. None would build great weapons of war, or have their Aufs and Uhryus artifice them, for we would feed the Mag Mag Gor if we were to do so.
And what has happened? The Mag Mag Gor now runs free in the host of a Ka Gor’na. We must return to the old ways of stone, bone, wood and obsidian. To the ways of hunting and gathering, of growing small plots, and scavenging what we need.
The Olgogs have pride now. They think their Big Weapons and Big Vehicles and Big Nation make them Great. It only makes them great at being Warmonger’s Pawn. And we must teach them the error of their ways."
Auf Uf said in reply, “For Three Years we have had peace with the UtR. I will not counsel to agree with any path that leads to War with the United Tribes.”
“No war will come to Al’ya, wise Auf Uf,” countered Nakalok Gul, “For no War will march from Al’ya. These soldiers we have brought are here to protect you and for you to educate in the old ways.
Only as individuals will my Guls and I take on the United Tribes and teach them humility. Their mighty army will mean nothing before the power of a single Olgog,” Nakalok Gul said with pride.
