Goblin Lands 2 Diplomatic Event 20: An Article of Faith

#1

"By The Deral’s Collective law, Torlallur has done nothing wrong. They have come into Karov, claimed land as there own, and then infected the area with plague so they can gather gogs to be thrown into a pit to die or become cursed. A place where those who survive are forever cursed to have there soul be devoured by the sickness they embody.

First, This land is part of Karov, the land of the Uhryu. A place where the vampyres have stayed away from, as we are considered their natural enemies. We were formed to stop vampyres for destroying society. In our earlier days, we pushed them into the southernlands and to the coast of Unen. Today, we have a tribe show up, claim the land as his own, and infect the others with his diseases.

There were many other tribes that used those lands, but that doesn’t seem to matter.

The tribes own laws are supreme in there own lands, The other tribes are dead or scattered because of Torlallur, and they weren’t part of the Der’al Collective, so they don’t matter. What matters is Torlallur didn’t break any laws in “their” lands, even thought they plauged all of karov.

They were only expressing their faith? So does the Church of One when they kill anyone who isn’t an earther. We hate the Church of One, mostly because they kill us. When it happens from gogs killing and converting others, it is a legitimate expression of faith?

These “religious” ceremonies are still going on, currently infection the others in karov. Are we just suppose to let one tribe kill everyone not like them so that there “religious rights” are upheld? What about the rights of the gogs that were infected and died? Oh that’s right Torlallur claimed the land so their laws rein supreme. Including infecting other gogs with disease.

These are the facts of the matter at hand

Torlallur participated in a religious ceremony.

At some point, this ceremony started spreading disease to the gogs in Karov.

Tor’Lallur response was to let everyone try and deal with the disease, when they closed down “their” borders to hide the fact that they were knowingly spreading the disease.

They sent envoys to recruit gogs, not letting them know that they were the cause of the disease. The earthers have the term for it, it is called false pretenses.

Uhryus normally would have driven Tor’Lallur out of Karov by now, but the Uhryus see Tor’Lallur being protected by the Armies of Eloga through the Der’al Collective.

What can this “court” do, By the laws of the Der’al Collective, they have done nothing wrong. They just infected Karov with disease after claiming land in it as theirs. We at Gultor’uf left the Der’al Collective so we can prevent as much as this type of tyranny as possible. If we stayed inside, By the Der’al Collective laws, we would Have to let Tor’Lallur infect others.

This doesn’t get into many other horrors, such as the lose of life of the gogs thrown into Torlallur’s pit.

We at Gultor’uf do not believe this “Court” will proceed in true justice. The court is bound by the laws of the group it represents, and the Der’al Collective has voted to indemnify anyone acting within their own laws.

Dar’ab of Tor’lallur stood up and looked at the unamed Uhryu apprentice, “Dar’ab no know many word unnamed Gog say. Take long ask each. Dar’ab know upset when hear. So, Dar’ab keep simple. What like Tor’Lallur do?”

The unnamed Uhryu replied, “Stop religious ceremonies that infect other beings outside your tribe with diseases. Try to understand Karovian society and our ideas of land. Let the other tribes wander through, and use the land as we have for many years.

Bring the gogs that died in your pit to Gultor’uf, if anything of them is left. (this does not include the new plague vampyres) Gultor’uf will try and revive them to be returned to their respective tribes.

Send gogs to remove the diseases that are left in Karov and the surrounding areas, without trying to recruit the gogs.

When you try and recruit gogs, tell them everything. What happens if the ceremony fails, and that there soul is damaged if it succeeds. If you are the cause of the disease you must tell them that too.

The tribes of Karov will distrust you because of you being vampyres, now because of your action doublely so. What little trust there was has been destroyed, it will take a long time to rebuild it. Some of their loved ones have been forever changed by your actions. I don’t know what can be done to show that you have remorse.”

Dar’ab wrinkles his brow, "Want stop worship Pit? No spread Pit? You give up you faith too? Ask abandon what make Tor’Lallur Tor’Lallur? No Pit, Tor’Lallur die. Want Tor’Lallur die? Faith center Pit. Spread Pit center faith. What Gog no faith?

Ceremony never fail. Gog be one with Pit. Always tell Gog. Pit return some Gog. Give strong. Master weak. Tor’Lallur promise, never sick. Tor’Lallur speak true. Pit return Gog, never sick. Pit no return Gog, never sick. Will unnamed Gog give up he faith?

Unnamed Gog, no want Tor’Lallur in unnamed Gog land. Tor’Lallur say ok. Tor’Lallur spread Pit elsewhere. Why you say where Pit go? We no say where unnamed Gog go."

Again the GulTor’Uf Uhryu spoke camply, “We did not say stop worshiping the pit, we said stop doing religious ceremonies that spread the disease to others.

You say you are not sick, but you carry diseases along with you at all times. This is because you are so sick, that disease has started to consume your soul. You just don’t see it, as you are living it.

I did not say you couldn’t stay, I just outlined some of the things that would need to be done to rebuild trust of others.”

#2

Scribe was a little tired of these two going back and forth like this. Every meeting where they were in the room together it goes from calm discussion into a yelling match.

“Peace, both of you,” Scribe said, calling attention to himself, “The truth is that Tor’Lallur did violate our laws. The law is clear. Your lands, your ways. However, Tor’Lallur spread their illness to other tribe on other lands.”

As he waited for it to sink in for the others he scribbled a quick note then said “As that is the case I believe that the best way to handle this situation is to follow the apprentice’s plan, this allows Tor’Lallur to stay where they are and keep their faith. The signs should be blessed to contain the illness so that only those who want to and are truly faithful will be effected. If you need resources then I am sure that we can set up a pick up and drop off point for trade.”

Dar’ab smiled at Scribe “Tor’Lallur no break law. Law say no harm Collective. Tor’Lallur harm no Collective. Feral tribes no in Collective. Tor’Lallor need spread Pit. If no spread, Tor’Lallur die. Faith is spread Pit. You say no spread Pit, that gainst faith. You say Tor’Lallur must abandon faith. Tor’Lallur agree no spread to Collective. Tor’Lallur no agree not spread anywhere. Tor’Lallur no violate law.”

Turning to unnamed apprentice, “Say consume soul? Proof? Dar’ab soul in Dar’ab. How you know state of Dar’ab soul? You apply, you moral to all. You no like Pit. You say bad. Think know all. Arrogant. Tor’Lallur smart. Tor’Lallur know that no know all. Tor’Lallur learn. Unnamed Gog just judge. No know Tor’Lallur, no care Tor’Lallur. How judge when no know?”

Lallur, a Kaviorian Olgog in Lalder’s tribe had been listening to the back and forth. He said "Gultor’uf was given the Ferals to take care of by the VovF. It is their responsibility to maintain the health and numbers of the ferals. So in fact Dar’ab, your tribe did attack Gultor’uf’s.

With that, you also attacked the ferals in the UtR as well. Are you trying to start wars? I do understand religion, and I understand survival, but causing strife with every tribe not in your collective does not lead to long survival. Your timing was good for you as the tribes are busy with Terrorist attacks and they don’t want to battle in another conflict. But that might not hold out in the future.

You could even do like the Vampyres of Kul Gul Rapi. They hunt and feed, but in enforcement of the laws and only do this to criminals. No adding to conflicts, no more additional enemies, pit still spread.

And before you say you what the UtR thinks, or you hate them. That is not the point I’m making. "

Dar’ab looked confused at Lallur, “Feral, no part him tribe. He watch, but no part of tribe."

Dar’ab wrinkled his brow if trying hard to think of something… “technicality! Sides. What give Human right to give way tribes? V O V F no own tribe, they no decide who own them. Those tribes their own. No belong to Unnamed Gog tribe. Less he like slavery now.” Dar’ab shrugged.

“Also, no do thing to tribe in you land. Only do neutral tribe. No idea spread you land on own. Gog move round. No plan do thing you tribes. That accident. We try more careful in future.”

Dar’ab thinks for a minute "Idea maybe. No sure. Problem be, sick spread farther then Tor’Lallur think. That why Tor’Lallur gather much and bring back to Tor’Lallur. Sick should slow down now. Future problem though. Have plan. If want, can provide tribe to prevent in future. If sick spread you land, you tribe can remove without bring to Pit. Sad not join Pit, but gradual process, too fast bad. Set up marker. If sick pass, Tor’Lallur envoy remove sick from Gog. Then, no accidental spread. Keep contain target area. What think?

Also, this nothing do with UTR. Sick hit tyrant UTR by accident.”

#3

The Uhryu of GulTor’Uf sighed, “The ferals are part of a tribe, it may not be like your our mine, but it is a tribe. Just because they don’t conform to your standard of tribe doesn’t give you the right to infect and curse them.

We speak up for these tribes because others don’t. If gogs would consider their actions and not impose their will on other gogs, then we wouldn’t have to speak for them.

What is even worse, is you just said sick spread farther than you think, This is an indication that you intended to do infect others. These weasel words you are using to try and escape consequences betray your true intentions.

Just because the UTR act tyrannical, doesn’t mean that there opinions are wrong at this moment.

Gultor’uf does not play favorites, you can ask lalder’s tribe how often our lead Uhryu has called them out for their actions. This time, they came and helped the sick. They did try very hard to do well, and overall did a good job. They only is only one action that we disagree with, but that is because of a lack of thinking and context of how their actions would be perceived.

And I will say this, in all of UTR’s actions, they have never under false prentences cursed other gogs. They have disenfranchised and killed, cause horrors such as the trail of tears, but they never infected gogs, and then offered a “cure” to swell there own ranks.

You ask how we know it damages the soul? Its because we are looking for a cure, but the only one we found is worse than the curse. we would have to remove the tainted part of the soul, changing the gog at his most fundamental level. This should remove the vampyrism, but it would leave the gog forever changed. And we won’t use this, because it is just as bad as the curse, it changes the being that it is applied to.”

"Never say not part tribe. Say not part your tribe. They independent tribe. No belong to you. Feral tribe always fight, for long as be. Recently fight all you tribe. Believe fought, kill many Feral many tribe recently. No see you tribe go after them tribe. Condemn Feral tribes for recent attacks either? No you not. Selective in outrage. One tribe use sky ships to kill Feral, what happen them? Say sorry then home. Brez tribes kill many Feral, you say no? No investigate them. They big strong tribes, so ignore. They kill cause angry. Ignored.
We act faith, provide Tor’Lallur life. You condemn. Hypocrite. Spread Pit faith, holy act. Brez tribes, Sky Tribes, kill for what? Cause angry. No condemn, nothing done. Yet go after Tor’Lallur for expressing faith?

If no play favorite, why not Sky ship Tribe here? Why no Brez tribes here? Why only Tor’Lallur? Cause you pick on Tor’Lallur. You think Tor’Lallur weak. You think safe pick on Tor’Lallur. Why mass butchery worse then Tor’Lallur spread Pit? Hypocrite. Brez tribes poison food, kill Gogs, steal tribesmen to “swell their own ranks” Yet unnamed Gog tribe do no ting. Hypocrite.

You want cure what Tor’Lallur is? Tor’Lallur what faith make Tor’Lallur. Who you judge? Cause different? You hate what different, not like you Gogs. We no like you so bad. You want kill you way. Hypocrite. You want fight, kill Tor’Lallur.

By Der’al Collective we break no law. What authority you have to punish? You want find solution. Be constructive. Give solution. Tor’Lallur can work harder to make sure Tor’Lallur faith no go you land. Will not change. You accept Tor’Lallur. If no accept. then try kill Tor’Lallur. If no want kill. Think real solution.”

Vellum leaned in closely to Dar’ab and said, “I wonder what Tribe the ferals say they are a part of?
If they consider themselves GulTor’Uf than a law may have been broken. If they consider themselves otherwise then they are not beholden to our law and each individual Olgog is a freegog.”

Vellum adjusted his sash, a new addition made from silk. It was embroidered with a fine border of spun silver.
He was trying new fashions, and was still experimenting on the uniform of the Army of the True Flame.

Addressing the Auf Lal’al representative, Vellum asked, “I see similarities between Tor’Lallurs challenge and the UtRs struggle with the Ethnic Cleansing by the Ka Rhug. The Ka Rhug are still quite active I take it? Has the UtR found a solution to their violent forced conscription?”

“Irrespective of Tor’Lallur’s actions, their reasoning in acting was to make fellow Olgogs better.
Civil society cannot accept the actual actions of Tor’Lallur due to the non consent of its victims.
If there were houses of worship across the DC where your way of life, the Tor’Lallur way of Life, and elements of the Truth Flame doctrine might be shown each on their own merits then Tor’Lallur could spread the pit only to willing participants.”

#4

Ka’zac chuckled to himself quietly in the back. The situation was laughably similar to the one he had dealt with just a few weeks earlier. Try to express your religion, a few ferals die, suddenly you’re the bad guy. He felt sympathetic to Tor’Lallur, they were largely in the same boat in terms of situation, but he also felt like Tor’Lallur should own their mistake and take steps to make peace.

He interjected to answer the Army of the True Flame Representative Vellum.

“Hello everyone, as some of you know, I am Ka’zac of the tribe of Ka’Rhug, as well as a member of the UTR council. I agree that the situation at hand is similar to the one that we experienced not long ago, but I see no reason why we can’t find a resolution as we did before.”

He turned and smiled at Vellum.

“Dear friend, we of Ka’Rhug are a changed people, we do not burn those who do not wish it, nor do we use it as a conscription method. While I can understand the misconception, I am happy to correct you so that you don’t sound uninformed in future discussions. Since the agreement between our tribe and our leadership in the UTR, we have not burned or destroyed bodies of olgogs or humans that did not expressly follow our beliefs, nor did we threaten said parties to make them join our ways. While once we did this, we have been reformed, and I would appreciate if we could leave it at that.”

Lallur says "I will defend the UtR this one time. But today is not about our actions as the Tribes of the UtR have spent weeks beating themselves up.

So did the UtR make mistakes with the Ferals. Yes. But most intentions were good, but actually helping the ferals went badly. Lalder had this problem. He didn’t have food enough to feed them, he sent gogs to teach them to farm, they still attacked and stole from our tribe. There is only so much you can do. But as part to help more, Lalder did send out teams to heal the sick.

While Bill and his like to call Lalder a tyrant. Lalder has not forced any tribe to join or conquered any other tribe. He has not tricked Olgogs into joining his tribe. He is more militaristic than most Olgogs, but not tyrannical. His intentions are to feed and protect Olgogs from Earthers. And Oners are our real enemy. The warmonger’s forces are our real enemy, and I’m not talking all dead tribes, just the ones that still follow the warmonger.

With that said, Will is what makes everyone special. Recruit the strong who are knowing what they are getting into. They will be even stronger if you are correct about the pit. But tricking the weak, the willess, the sick into this is wrong. Especially when you can make them stronger by removing the sickness. Show them your strength rather than make them weaker. You’ll build better Olgogs for all."

Dar’ab looked inquisitively at Lallur, "Dar’ab no say all UTR butcher Feral. Dar’ab say some. Dar’ab also say some Brez tribe kill then force other Gog into tribe. Gog like King Blood’og do same UTR politely deal and make offer. He no spread faith, kill and recruit for power. No stop cause King use Gog forced join to farm? Yet, Tor’Lallur spread faith to make Gog strong, spread Pit, so need be stopped? Confused why Tor’Lallur worse.

Anyway, already offered solution. Was ignored. Will offer again. Tor’Lallur offer envoy to other tribes. Job to make sure no Plague enter UTR land. Also Unnamed Gog tribe protect too. If plague spread these land, envoy cure Gog there. No bring Pit.

Tor’Lallur considered Feral like these Gog. Why other Feral Gog ok raid, attack. Why Tor’Lallur no allow recruit other Gog. Cause they no volunteer? Did Gog who forced join King Blood’og volunteer? He force many, make much suffering. What UTR do? Why better then Tor’Lallur?

Still, Dar’ab reasonable. Tor’Lallur need spread Pit survive. So, Tor’Lallur redirect effort someplace Gog here prefer? Can no stop, Tor’Lallur die stop. So give option for Tor’Lallur which no kill Tor’Lallur. Faith continue, Pit continue. Give option to allow faith then Tor’Lallur consider. "

The GulTor’Uf Uhryu would have none of it and replied, “The chuch of one has sincerely held religious beliefs. They must convert earthers to their religion, and kill all non earther sentient beings. Their religion will die if they stop spreading it.

We reject these claims out of hand. In short, we can say gogs agree that Individual rights are greater than religious rights.

The Torlallur tribe has sincerely held religious beliefs. They must converts all sentient beings by throwing them in their pit, and if they are weak they will die. They will die if they stop spreading it.

We have a word for this, it is called zealotry.”

Dar’ab looked oddly at Unnamed Gog “Unnamed Gog still no actually say useful thing. Pull out Der’al Collective yes? Have no legal say? This no morality meeting. Unnamed Gog no like how Tor’Lallur survive. Rather Tor’Lallur die. Dar’ab understand. Know Tor’Lallur response. Faith continue, no stop. Want find solution good all? Unnamed Gog rather preach? Tor’Lallur believe spread Pit all important. More important than individual right, is Faith. All Tor’Lallur work together as whole. No seek individual glory. All work towards Pit. Unnamed Gog no agree. Figured out in beginning.”

#5

“Then, do you acknowledge that the Church of one killing gogs is a good thing? If they came down here and killed you, as their faith says, would that trump your life to live?” countered the unnamed Uhryu.

Dar’ab stared at the Unnamed Gog like Pit itself had come alive and asked if the tribe wanted to save 15% on their insurance premiums. For about 4 minutes before responding. “When…what…who? Unnamed Gog, Dar’ab no able tell. Unnamed Gog drop on head lots as new born?”

Vellum says, "I fear when we start bandying about words like zealotry.
These impersonal phrases place restrictions on individual self understanding.
Uhryu, if you kill the Tor’Lallur for your beliefs you are also a zealot.
I am of the learned opinion that if anyone kills anyone over religious beliefs then they will be expressing zealot behavioral stimuli, leading to further unwanted violence. Join with me in finding a third path. "

“Oh and the UtR didnt make mistakes. If the Ka Rhug didnt rely on its Lur Union and UtR allies for defense and manufacturing they would still be doing the forced conscription and immolation routine,” said Vellum, “Brava on the war crimes. One day I hope I can achieve even a modicum of the unjustifiable brutality you employed against ferals against my own enemies. But i just may be too compassionate to achieve that level of butchery. Im sure your god Kamak was very pleased and asks for more?”

Ka’zac’s smile faltered just a bit, as though he was thinking something unpleasant.

“We may not see eye to eye on this, but this discussion is best saved for a different time. We have not come to discuss how you feel about our past interactions with Ferals that live on our lands, for which we cannot seem to do enough to make up for. Also, our deity Kalok does not ask for sacrifice, nor does he demand tribute, by giving our dead to him we honor him for his continued protection.”

Lallur says “Sorry, my name is Lallur. I didn’t mean to disrespect. I just got to involved and forgot I didn’t mention my name. Usually everyone knows me… that might be because I don’t travel much…”

Vellum and Ka’zac were still staring at each other.

Vellum smiled a bigger toothy grin. His gold capped canine teeth shined.
“I think you and I see eye to eye. May Kalok bless this meeting with a diplomatic and peaceful end. I know that is what the True Flame would want. Leaving the subject of ethnic cleansing aside.
I wonder why your attentions are turned on a religious matter in Karov so soon after your own…oversight?
Probably because the mighty UtR has not heard about a big ole Gog by the name of Blood’Og.
He runs a tribe, Mak’lal’tor? You UtR folk must have never heard of it. Because those guys are bad folks. Bad folks indeed.
Oppresses hundreds of thousands of Olgogs every day?
But obviously a bunch of dirty gogs who are not much different than the ferals with odd local beliefs are a higher priority.”

The Uhryu said, “We at Gultor’uf are not preparing for a genocide. While we are preparing for battle, we are here. We are drawing a hard line, because if not us then who?

And the UTR has made mistakes, even if they don’t see them that way. Every tribe has, even Gultor’uf.”
Looking back at the Torlallur representative, the GulTor’Uf Uhryu said, “Just as you don’t want the Church of One killing you, the other gogs you infest don’t want you killing and converting them. You are trying to force your way on others, and in this last case used deceitful … . you lied about it. you lied by not saying you were the cause of the disease.

I don’t think you moving is a good idea, as it is a cop out on our end. It would be an evil to inflict you somewhere else where you would force gogs to join you (lying/tricking is a use of force). If you remember back to my first statements when you asked what you could do, one of them was tell the gogs you are trying to convert everything about the ceremony, the good, the bad, the indifferent. This wouldn’t be forcing them, if you told them, and then they entered the pit of their own will.”

Vellum looked at the Uhryu and said,"What do you mean by a hard line?
If you march into Tor’Lallur territory with intent to murder them if they dont give up their faith then you are exactly like the Church of One.

Now if you just want to kill them if they step on your territory, then we can start finding places of compromise."

Vellum turned to Dar’ab, “Would your people be open to sharing the good the bad and the whole yadol on the ceremony for your faith when you offer conversion? I would never presume to saying you have to, or even can based on religious practices. Lines of dialogue must be forged in the crucible of discourse.”

Dar’ab added,“Tor’Lallur willing tell Gogs enter Pit not always leave Pit. If choose no enter Pit, leave. Still need spread essence of Pit. Need for faith…but can modify. Use weak strain of Pit. Make Gog uncomfortable, weak, but no kill. Not as satisfy for Pit…but done for peace.”

#6

Lallur leans in close to Vellum’s right ear.

Lallur says just to Vellum "I’m here because we tracked the disease that plagued the lands back here to Tor’Lallur tribe. That concerns the tribe. I’m here instead of an Auf so that ivot doesn’t become more than talk since I’m not in the leadership. I’m just an annoying gog sticking his nose into something. But truly GulTor’Uf needs to get things worked out. And If that happens, no battles.

But GulTor’Uf tribed is pressed worst than I think you realize. They volunteered to take care of all Ferals to the VoVf who thought of themselves as the protectors of the Ferals. The endangered Olgog. Right now he can’t even feed them. And now many of those ferals were sickened and killed. If the VovF feels they can’t trust any gog with the ferals, they may move in and take land. So This is again bad for all. Not just you or your group.

As for Blood’og, the UtR and Lalders tribe has been fighting with him over Brez for a year or more now. You are right, he is a bad gog. But so far not much can be done with him."

The Uhryu asked, “Dar’ab, Do you understand why we are upset now?

Sometimes the language differences makes communication difficult.”

Dar’ab looked coldly at Unnamed Gog "Unnamed Gog hate Tor’Lallur is. Hate Faith Tor’Lallur. Want Tor’Lallur like rest Ferals so control. Feral tribe unique culture, faith. Make hard control. Humans, give Ferals you, want control. Humans control.
Tor’Lallur small, easy pick on. (glancing at Lallur) Gor like Blood’og tough, no risk. So pick on Feral no like.

Tor’Lallur know no start war. Tor’Lallur back down. If no, tyrant Gogs kill. Tor’Lallur compromise, tyrant Gogs (gesturing to Lallur and unnamed Gog) placate nough, leave lone. Tor’Lallur see, what unnamed Gog is. See what Lallur Gog is. Do human Gor say. Dar’ab understand…Tor’Lallur understand."

The Uhryu seemed to grow frustrated, “It seems you don’t understand, and that is an issue. It will lead to conflicts in the future.

For Gultor’uf, this has nothing to do with your religion, is has everything to do in how you converted everyone.

Ignore those others for a moment, and just concern yourself with what I am saying.

You didn’t tell the gogs that there was a chance they might die in your pit. There decisions may have been different if you told them they might die if they went through with their ceremony. Now there families and former tribes are upset, because they can no longer see their friend and loved one.

Now, if you did tell them they might die in the pit and, in this case, your actions caused them to get sick in the first place we would not be here. IF you told them everything about the situation and they choose to join you, then we wouldn’t have an issue and would be working on other issues.

you are right that we don’t like your faith, just as we don’t like the faith of the pit mongrels with their gods. But if you come to our tribe, we have just over a dozen as members of our tribe. They try and get gogs to convert to their faith, but they haven’t forced anyone, lied to them , or lied by not telling them something.”

Dar’ab replied tersly, “All gog know fore Pit may no back. when sick choice. Choose recover own. Choose us. No force. No all Gog have Earthgor protect. No all Gog love earthgor. Unnamed Gog tribe want own Feral, no own Tor’Lallur. Never own Tor’Lallur. Dar’ab no care unnamed gog want, feel. Already concession. No care you.”

Shirley was really hating these meetings. For weeks she’s been stuck dealing with diplomacy. She really wanted to kill something. She kept her mouth shut, but mention of Blood’og got her blood boiling. But she kept her mouth closed, hoping not to lose control and start killing Vellum or the Pit gog.

“ENUFF OF THIS BICKRIN’!!!” She turned to her fellow council gog, “we hav no right to say how dey pray wrong. We dun plenty o stuff wrong.”

She turned to Vellum, “Blood’og will get his…” Her muscles convulsed as she said it, shapeshift Leyas coursing across her body.

She turned to the Pit gog, "Force is da problem. Not faith. Death, killin’, tha’ be the problem. Now folk be yellin’ n hollerin’, but i ask, got a way to be of your faith without it?”

Dar’ab turned to loud Brezan gog “Pit must spread, that faith. Pit no spread no faith. Faith revolve round Holy Pit. Savior o Gogs.”

Scribe rubbed his temples. Even though he was a Champion of Asgard, all this talk of war and killing was giving him a migraine.

“I understand that your faith requires for your Pit to grow, what is being asked is if you can spread it with out bringing death and destruction to do so. That is the only real issue that everyone here has.”

Dar’ab looked confused, “already said would. Weak strain Pit in future. Make little sick no kill.”

#7

Scribe was sadden, any religion that required it’s followers to die was bad or a front.

“While that is kind of you to recommend, it is not enough. The only way to solve this and have no problems in the future is to prevent the death of your faithful. Other wise there will be another incident that bring about war. So the only real choice is do you want war with those around you or do you want to try and change so that there is no reason for war. Personally I could care less, but you might want to think about if your tribe will be able to survive a war with tribes that could attack you from the sky or bless your sacred Pit, causing it to lose its power. Those are just a few of the things that these gathered tribes can do, and as a Quarter Master in the AoE I can easily tell you our standing is not to where we can stand against them and win.”

Dar’ab continued to look confused. “If Gog choose risk why war? If little sick, why war? No dead from sick. Tor’Lallur no want war. Only other want war. What Scribegog want? What demand exactly?”

Scribe started looking at his hands then patting himself. No fur, definitely NOT green. So how did Dar’ab confuse a Bastard with an Olgog. He didn’t understand gog didn’t mean Olgog to an Olgog it could often just be another word for person or individual.

“I was only pointing out the pattern that religions like yours have gone through. Most of which were destroyed by other Children of Falos, or by the combined effort of all sentient races. And all that is left of them is a dark description by the Songmancers or in paintings of the battles. I am just pointing out a path that will allow my ally to live at the end of this situation.”

As he let that set in Scribe worked on one of his sketches until he had to start taking notes again.

Dar’ab grew annoyed, ““So, Scribegog say Tor’Lallur stop be Tor’Lallur or else die? Change everything, be like other Gog or die? Abandon belief or die? If that case, then no know what do. Tor’Lallur can no abandon all. Tor’Lallur no able stop world. Dar’ab die fore give up what make Dar’ab unique. If Tor’Lallur existence reason for die, then why talk? All feel same? Nothing less then abandon all belief good nough?”

Scribe finally knew why his mentor wanted him to stay in the City of the Gods instead of coming to the Goblin Lands.

“I am trying to tell you what I have seen in my studies. Maybe your tribe will be different. Just remember that what you do causes others to do things, and these things may hurt you. That is how life and war work and all we can do is learn from those that came before us and be better then them.”

“Tor’Lallur no know others. Tor’Lallur only know Tor’Lallur. Only can be Tor’Lallur. Tor’Lallur offer spread Pit different so no kill. Tor’Lallur offer inform and choice before put in Pit. Can no bend more. No one offer do anything sides Tor’Lallur. All other Gog simply say ‘what we want or die, change or die.’”

Scribe nodded, " I would offer you my knowledge, but it is mostly the arts of times past. Instead I offer to help you build a temple leading to the Pit. This gives your faithful a place to stay and will help contain the illness even more. And I’m sure everyone here will help to make this work, so that we prevent another massacre."

“Temple? why need temple? Pit in cave. Tribe follow herds. Cave holy place. Why need temple?” asked Dar’ab.

“I said a temple but it could be a few buildings where your tribe is safe from the storms and enemy’s, a place for your new faithful can rest before they take the challenge. After all the stronger they are when they enter the stronger they are when they come out, is that not what you said,” replied Scribe confused why the Olgogs wouldnt want a nice stone house with feather beds and other nice things.

“Strength of will, faith. Physical strength no important. No need lift heavy rock live. Cave protect from weather. No need fancy building.”

“You asked for an exchange, so if you ever need my help with that please let me know.” Scribe thought for a moment then said " The only other thing I have to offer are Flash bombs that will not hurt your people."

Dar’ab seemed deeply offended by this, “Flashbomb? What? I no ask for stuff. Earlier when say no one offer not what mean. Dar’ab mean no one compromise but Tor’Lallur.
Tor’Lallur offer spread Pit weaker and give choice if want go in.
All other Gog say no enough must change all or die."

Babi had sat silently but the entire event had turned into a witch hunt.
He didn’t really like the Tor Lallur. They were smelly and awkward, at the same time they had been open to trade and attempted to repay the gift of water by helping immensely with the cleanup and salvage of Unen.

“You all say da Tor Lallur violate da laws of your lands?” He asked somewhat incredulously. “You go to war and kill them for it hmm?”

He shook his head, “It a law against making people sick in Karov? Dat da same law in Tla’Local? Did it become a law in da UTR too?” He asked pointedly looking at the other UTR representatives present.

“I tell you a ting. My daughter Abra’Ka, she mean the world to me, but last season she got sick, da green snots, hot head, every ting. I cared for her like a papa does a sick daughter. Right when she got over dis bug you know what happen? I get sick. Oh I got so sick, my bones ached, I was always hot and cold at once. I tell my daughter, You lucky child I love you otherwise I through myself off a cliff into da ocean and be done with it.” Babi said chuckling before becoming serious again, “You want me to bring my daughter here to go on trial to for getting me sick?”

“Speaking of da children. Didn’t a children of one of da Uh’ryu who’s tribe be leading da charge for war kill hundreds if not thousands using an EEF weapon system? He had to atone with 9 trials, but when it da Tor’Lallur they kill a few they deserve da other tribes go to war? I see da standards are double for them and Olgog da Olgog?”

Kaz’ac nodded in silent agreement.

“I agree with Babi, there is no formal law against causing sickness on other gogs. Killing other gogs is certainly a crime, but the Tor’Lallur have not physically caused bodily harm to the casualties, only sickening them as a byproduct of their pit.”

“Certainly there should be some regulations on how Tor’Lallur interacts with other tribes in this manner, but war is certainly not the right way to handle this. ‘Death for death’ is not a method that works well in the long run, we should seek a more diplomatic resolution.”

He winked at Dar’ab.

"Besides, if this is what they are capable of when they are neutral to us, I don’t want to know what they would do if we were enemies.”

Maggul, councilgog to the Yagogi in the UtR had made his entrance, not fully sure of him being here basically at an assembled Der’al Collective meeting. Looking around, he could see the tense expressions on all faces involved. Although just seeing Lallur of the Herd of Auf Lal’al, Kaz’ac of Kolgol and Babi of the Kul’Gul Rapi Family put him at greater ease but yet another situation had come about because of the neglectful actions of a tribe. There was once a time that the Family were hated people, a vile enemy, but that was before knowing of how they worked and now they were a trusted ally. It was the same that had happened with Mag Buskt, and maybe there was a purpose for the Tor’Lallur too. Which also reminded Maggul, he would need to have a private word with Babi at some point.

“I do not know of the whole circumstance surrounding the spread of disease around the lands of Karov. Regardless of whether I agree with the beliefs of not, gogs have a right to practice their faith as long as it is not harming and infringing upon others. The Cult of Warmonger wants nothing but the rise of Warmonger and the ultimate destruction of others. This is not something that we can get behind, but maybe there is a way of looking towards Tor’Lallur and having them serve a useful purpose such as one that the Kul"gul Rapi Family have taken. Tor’Lallur have their pit of worship in Karov, but these lands are inhabited by others and this is where the problem exists. They can have their pit exist, and grow their faith to those that are informed and have made the decision for themselves to join. With that being said, the Tor’Lallur would also need to keep the faith of the pit localized to the pit itself and then prevent outbreak, keeping the rest of Karov safe from sickness, and another outbreak like the one that just happened. This keep Tor’Lallur practicing their faith, then GulTor’Uf and the Yagogi can share the land safe from sickness. With everyone going on, the UtR and the Der’al Collective, how about just trying to make Karov work together and like minded united front?”

Over on the side, Maggul approached Babi to say, “We need to speak at some point, our hunting ground in Karov maybe under invasion.”

The Uhryu of GulTor’Uf couldn’t see why the other tribes could not see reason.
He said, “The biggest issue here is that Torlallur does not understand why we find his infecting others reprehensible. He recognizes it when others do it to him, but not when he does it to others. We have been trying to get him to understand this, because until he does any agreement is going to be based on his fear that we will go to war with him. Once that fear is gone, if there is no real understanding, then we will have conflicts later on.

Babi, the laws have been woefully done. If you want to talk about the laws, It is not against the law to heal anyone. We could go around healing every vampyr and that would be legal. Im sure you find that idea horrendous because you know as well as we do that that would mean the end of you. I we did this, it would be just as tyrannical ans making other people sick. Note I am just using this as an example and we harbor no ill will toward your tribe.

Your child getting you sick, you knew that was a possibility, and your child didn’t intend to infect you. This would be like your child getting you sick, and when you find out, he tells you that he is still going to get you sick, just not as bad. What do you do in a situation like that.

Maggul , Karov is home to many tribes, and we should not assume that it is just us that need to share the land.

Kaz’ac, because you fear something, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do what is right.”

Vellum said reasonably, “Sickness is a necessary part of life.
If Dar’ab can guarantee the cold he spreads is not deadly then it will make our gogs stronger to be infected with it and fight it off internally.”

Vellum knew he couldnt go into detail about Microbes and antigens. The Dimension Walker once again struggled at the roles he was forced to play when dealing with his less advanced kin in the Goblin Lands. He had seen the stars, and now he was forced to grovel in the dirt with the ignorant.

“If by chance GulTor’Uf cured all Refugian diseases tomorrow then the first alien sickness the Olgog nations faced would kill us. I would argue with Tor’lallurs suggested compromise they do make us stronger as a species.”

Scribe began quickly speaking out of fear, “As you said a normal illness causes ones body to get stronger against other illnesses. The problem is that the illnesses caused by the Torlallur are powered by faith and the Leyas. So how are the tribes going to get stronger if the are slowly killed off one by one? How do we stress the severity of an illness that is worshipped that can bring an end to these lands if left unchecked.”

Vellum says to Scribe, "Tell us where did you get the information that the diseases spread by the Tor’Lallur are different than any other biological infection?

I think you are making a leap. The Pit is what is mystical. Or so it seems. The spreading of disease, a step in their worship."

Scribe continued, ignoring the Dimension Walker much to the cultist’s annoyance, saying “And as it is a part of their worship they make it stronger with their beliefs. So answer my question. How do we insure that it does not spread to desimate every tribe, or spread to beyond these lands.”

Babi shook his head looking at the Gul Tor Uf. “The laws permitting healing even against those whom you know it will kill would be da reason you don’t see many Bruskti in Karov. In Unen the tribes which respect da family word their law much differently.”

He shrugged, “I know the next time my daughter gets sick, and she will, it will get me sick too. She don’t need to tell me that, if getting sick and being miserable is da greatest danger in Karov then I never realized how unfortunate we were in Unen.” He said with a laugh.

He knew Maggul’s tribe trained hard to fight warmonger and all other beings which would destroy the realm, they didn’t lead an easy life. The joke was intended to poke fun at such a strong tribe as Gul Tor Uf being afraid of illness. Tor Lallur’s illnesses would be an annoyance for most tribes not a disaster especially if they agreed to cease them before they cause serious harm.

He took out a thin wood tablet and an ink well of purple ink. He dipped his finger in the ink and drew it across the tablet. THe artifact immediately activated, the ink pooling into olgog words on the tablet. When passed to Maggul, it read:

"Honorable Maggul,
To use this tablet think the words you wish to say to me while drawing ink across the tablet. So long as no other views it we should be able to converse in secrecy. To clear the tablet wipe your palm across it.

Mag Deral and the cannibals Mag Daron attack in Unen. Is this the invasion you speak of in your lands?

-Babi"

Maggul thought on the argument of the tribal of GulTor’Uf, he found it somewhat funny that a tribe derived from the olgog vocabulary for An End to Death by Swords couldn’t see the irony of the threat of war. He chuckled to himself and had to ask the question, "So what would you have of Tor’ Lallur? You threw a fit when different tribes tried to change the ways of the ferals, and in which case resulted in many deaths. Death is so to speak a unique part of life, and fortunately the actions did not result in all of the ferals death.
Growing up as part of the Yagogi, you gain a greater understanding of death and the truth that lies in death, We could have contacted the dead ferals and found out the answers to the questions of their lives. Now, you have another obvious feral tribe that has their own way of doing things, and from the murmurings that I have heard have even been willing to compromise their existance, and you throw another fit because it goes against what you want. You taking on the ferals, was a bigger task than you could possibly handle. How can you be okay with the actions of one group of ferals and not another? The answer seems to be the ability to assert control of some sort. So I ask you again, what would you have the Tor’Lallur do?

From what I also understand, GulTor’Uf is jumping at the chance of a war with the Yagogi claiming that we have started raiding on your tribe, but in actuality it’s just more unchanged ferals doing as they wished to continue to do, they desired to keep raiding. To clarify, the ferals chose not to partake in the tribal life and understood that we no longer wished for them to be raiding from us. It would seem that they found a prime new target."

Maggul went off to the side to observe the unique tablet. He did as Babi had directed, clearing the tablet. Then he dipped his finger in the ink to draw ink across the tablet as he thought of his response. When finished he handed the tablet off directly to Babi, so that he could view the message which read as thus:

“Honored Babi,
I thank you for offered support. The intrusion of the most honored Kolgol into the Yagogi hunting grounds, it would seem that something is brewing within their camp.
-Maggul”

The Uhryu of GulTor’Uf looked at the people around him, why couldn’t they understand how dangerous a precident was being set here. “So, we have a group of gogs that say they are from Yagogi killing other gogs and stealing their food, water and items. This has been going on about two weeks, and you have known about it. But you chose to do nothing about them. We at Gultor’uf don’t have the luxury to sit and wait for you to decide that training gogs to steal from others is a problem.

At its heart, it is the same problem. Its gogs that decide there will must affect other gogs to survive. You, and others, decided that gogs were feral and that they should join you or die, we find this wrong. Torlallur says they have to have their religious rights to survive where it sickens and kills other gogs, this is just as evil.

You asked what Torlallur can do, and as I told him earlier.

Stop the ceremonies that sicken other gogs.
Let the tribes wander as they have for ages through that land.
Bring the gogs that died in the pit, to Gultor’uf [or someone else] so they can be revived and returned to their tribes.
Send gogs, with someone to remove the diseases that still affect the other gogs.
And tell gogs everything before they try and curse them.

I said these are what was needed to go forward.”

The argument between Scribe and Vellum about the fundamental nature of the sickness being employed by the Tor’Lallur got loud again. Vellum would not let Scribe divert so easily ,"Again you make claims without Proof?
Are we a kolgol court? Hopping from one shiny idea to another?

No. I demand right now that Scribe provide PROOF of his assertion that a common cold given by the Tor’Lallur is somehow more mystical and powerful compared to a standard common cold.

If you cannot provide proof I DEMAND you officially retract your statement as hearsay and slander and give a formal apology to Dar’ab and his people.

Slander breaks the very social contract the Der’al Collective is based on.

Your statement is not an opinion. You stated it as fact. PROVE it or retract it."

They continued arguing until Vellum turned towards the Uhryu and said, “"GULTOR UF representative you are ignoring the compromises brought to the table by Dar’ab and you are offering NO compromises of your own.

The tribes were let to wander. They got ill. Tor Lallur offered their faith as a cure. It really does not matter what caused the disease now that Tor Lallur has offered to weaken their induction to a tiny little cold.

A cold that You Uhryu could teach the Ferals to cure. You would have to change their way of life. Then they wouldnt be ferals.

When ferals used to get sick did war get declared? No because Ferals dont answer biological problems with War. Only we tribal olgogs do and it shows how little civility we really have.

You also decided you must change other Gogs to survive. But you feel your ideals are enlightened so you can get away with your own intellectual tyranny.

Was OtO forced to “feel different” about his crimes? Was that infamous criminal told he must change his beliefs?
No he was given a punishment that forced him to help the Olgog peoples at large.

Having the Tor Lallur spread simple colds and heal larger plagues is a perfect punishment in line with a positive social contract.

Legally is does not matter what they believe.

Frankly I dont believe Vampyrs are inherently evil. BUT GulTorUfs laws demand their death if they follow Uhryu tradition.

Is this really just an excuse for the GulTorUf Gorab to kill Vampyrs they are prejudiced against?"

The Uhryu corrected, “What gives torlallur the right to infect others, when we wouldn’t be allowed to go healing them? We Uhyru can gather and create an aura of healing over Karov, which would hurt or kill vampyres.

If we did that, and offered a lessor form that just hurt after we killed and hurt many, would you say that it is our right to do? I doubt it.

If we intended to just kill Torlallur, we would do it. We wouldn’t be here.”

Dreg had entered the room quietly a few minutes earlier and just sat and listened. He didn’t much care how this turned out since it seemed to him that anything bad happening to the Der’al Collective was probably good for the UTR but after hearing GulTor’uf latest argument he couldn’t hold his touge.

“You’d still be here because you want a legal pretext for the war you clearly want. Torlallur faith demands they spread their pit. They’ve offered a compromise that allows them to do that and won’t get anyone else killed. But you’ve rejected it out of hand.
It’s funny I didn’t realize your passion for personal freedoms which is so strong you left the UTR over it, only extended to things you agreed with. Look I don’t care if your tribe wants to prove to the world they’re a pack of hypocrites but at least be honest about it.”

The Uhryu proudly countered with, “We reject it out of hand, just as we reject the church of one killing gogs for religious beliefs. Mag Mag Gor believes all should belong to him, in his religion. Should we let him force us all to submit, because he believes it should happen?

We reject the idea that we should be subject to others religious beliefs, because they affect others not of that belief.

If Torlallur only infected his own tribe, we wouldn’t be here. If they didn’t use the infection as a way to recruit gogs, We would not be here. If they told the gogs they recruit that they may die and that they infected them first, we would not be here.

The more this conversation goes on the more it seems like any gog in Karov that is not Torlallur, Gultor’uf or Yagogi, is a plaything for anyone who want to take them. Make them sick, kill them, force them to join your tribe, who cares about them.”

Dreg looked at the GulTor’uf spokesgog. “Has it really not occurred to you that Torlallur are probably plague vampyrs? Or are you just being deliberately obtuse?” He looked around at the others gathered in the room. "That is what we’re talking about here right? I mean I can’t see leyas so maybe I’m wrong but it seems pretty clear to me.
It’s not just their religion it’s how they survive.
They need to make people sick to exist.
How else did you think they could spread, control and consume sickness? Or that some people come out of their pit alive and healthy?

Somebody look at him in the Leyas. Find out if my guess is right. Because if it is they are just doing what they need to survive and probably don’t even know what’s really going on. And that makes GulTor’uf entire complaint as stated invalid. Because if I am right what you’ve said to them is ‘Starve or we’ll kill you.’ Which sounds pretty evil to me. Course if I’m wrong what they’re doing is pretty messed up." Dreg said with a shrug.

Vellum attests, "I do believe I have seen adherents to the Pit faith who are exactly as Honorable Ambassador Dreg describes.
They have faith their faith is tied into the curse on their spirit.

To deny them any worship would be to Starve and Kill them. They cannot as it were infect their own tribe.

If you reject that you should be beholden to an outsiders faith then why are you trying to IMPOSE Uhryu Reformism on the Tor Lallur?

It seems the easy answer is you have two different faiths. Keep your borders secure and dont visit each other or convert each other and it is not a problem.

Did I just hear the GulTor Uf Ambassador say that His tribe represnts all Karovians who are not currently aligned to UtR or DC? Maybe I misheard?"

Babi’s eyes widened when he read the tablet,
“Honorable Maggul,
The Kolgol would appear to be in direct violation of the laws. How do you wish to proceed? You have the Kul Gul’Rapi’s support on the council for any action to force the kolgol to leave your lands and any sort of reparations you require to make tings right. If the matter is too immediate and pressing for you to wait for the council to come to a decision the Kul Gul Rapi will detain them and bring them for trial by the council.
-Babi”
He passed the tablet quickly back to Maggul. If the evidence supported Maggul’s claims this would be an intertribal matter requiring the council’s participation.

Babi nodded to Dreg, “What he says be true. Some Vampyrs feed off da fear of others, others by da pain they cause others, still others by the suffering caused by da illnesses.” He left out that plague vampyrs were pariahs even in Bruskti traditions. “You tell them they must cease da spread of even da smallest illness they will be like a gog without water, wasting away, followed by madness, and finally death.
If dat the only choice you give the Tor Lallur, a short death at your hands or a long slow death then there be no negotiation, or even judgment here, you just looking for a reason to be da executioner.”

Maggul shook his head at the ignorant GulTor’Uf tribesgog, " Ok listen gog, who are you?! Have you become so distrustful and jaded, that you can not even formally introduce yourself and instead having everyone referring to you as gog from GulTor’Uf. You are placing all this blame where it does not belong. If you’re going to make accusation at least have some proof of what you are talking about. First of all, Tor’Lallur has said that they would from now on inform other gogs of their faith and the risks that come with it prior to doing anything, this would take out any false pretenses or force previously used. What has happened in the past unfortunately cannot be changed, but remedied so that the same mistakes are not made. Even though I recently entered, i have heard that offer being given several times. They offer a compromise you offer starve or we kill you, which was the same attack you had against all the UtR when dealing with ferals, kind of sounds a little hypocritical.

Secondly, I assure you that these are ferals raiding from you. They have followed our wishes to refrain from continuing to raid from our tribe, but they are not part of our tribe and do not take commands from us. Why would the Yagogi be stealing from you now, considering we are still doing all our own hunting and gathering and we have tried working together in the past. By the way, how is Olgog the Olgog’s young gor’ab apprentice doing, or did you already forget about that? You are so sure to put blame on the Yagogi, give me names and show me the zela blades they carry, otherwise drop it because you have been given an answer for what is happening. These are ferlas that did not wish to change and they’ve moved to your tribes because you’re already feeding of so many gogs anyways."

Scribe looked at Vellum then the others and said “We are here because olgogs were getting sick, being healed, then getting sick again.” Scribe pulled out several papers and places them on the table. "A few tribes including Herd of Auf Lal’ al and GulTor’Uf tracked down the cause of this strange illness to Tor’Lallur. These are statements they gave which I wrote up. Tor’Lallur have admitted to controlling the illness and using their Pit to turn the sick Ferals into members of their tribe. They even said that the version in the pit is even more deadly. So it would not surprise me if they are Plague Vampyrs. That does not bother me, in fact I was going to talk with them in privet and recommend that they be in charge of a hospital so they may feed with out causing harm, as the Kul’Gul Rapi are in charge of punishments for the UTR. The only issue is that they may try and change their patients with their faith. You asked for my evidence. My evidence is that, the behavior of the illness and the confession of Tor’Lallur.

As for GulTor’Uf that is a little different. They see themselves as a tribe dedicated to protecting other olgogs from those with power." Looking directly at Maggul, "And if you had payed attention you would know that unless they really have to they do not take a name besides their life goals. That is why he is called Uhryu Apprentice.

So how do we solve our problems. Well how’s this, Tor’Lallur and GulTor’Uf work together to build a place of healing. And when a being comes to learn they must choose if they wish to be a healer like the GulTor’Uf are, or if they want to control the illnesses like Tor’Lallur. This way the pit grows from informed members and both tribes help these land."

#13

The Uhryu couldn’t understand why the others wouldn’t just call him by his title. As he looked over at Maggul of the Yagogi, he realized they might take offense to the concept that the GulTor’Uf only referred to each other by title. Definitely something for him to discuss with Bill when he returned to the GulTor’Uf lands.

He said, “Torlallur needs to infect other gogs to survive, and they have been here for at least a generation. If both these things our true, why is this the first time that sickness has come from that region? Why is it only this year there is sickness?

And we do believe they are under the class of plague vampyrs. The knowledge of the fore-Uhryus passed down to us indicate this is so. In our personal experience, we have had a chance to see how a plague vampyr interact with others. We had one reside with us at our camp, when OtO was residing there. For months, she never infected others or claimed the right to do so. She ate food, drank water for sustenance. So when you come and tell us they need to have this religious ceremony to survive, we don’t believe it because we have seen plague vampyrs, and we know they don’t need it to infect others survive.

We don’t speak for the tribes of Karov, we try and give those who are not here a voice. Every time we have been at one of these meetings, everyone shows they are not concerned with understanding, they have particular goals they are they are trying to achieve.

Torlallur did say they would tell gogs everything, and this is one of the things we are asking for. The one thing that isn’t, is Torlallur saying they are just going to infect Karov with lessor diseases. If this were anyone else, it would be considered warfare, but because they are Torlallur it is okay? We at Gultor’uf say no, If it was within their own tribe, we have no problem. If they told the gogs everything, then infected them we have no problem. The issue is Torlallur intends to infect the gogs of Karov whether they wish it or not.

I have introduced myself, I am Uhryu of Gultor’uf. In our tribe, we have started to discard our old names and embody the position we are in. In our tribe, the one you know as Bill is called Uhryu and the one you know as Rapiog is called leader. This happens when we choose our path in life.

OtO left some time ago, we don’t know where he is. He left some time ago, and I haven’t seen him or your gor’ab.

So you convinced a tribe to raid other tribes? I know gogs that have told us about the raids, these gogs claim to follow Yagogi. They are now attacking, killing and looting, but since it is not your tribe, it is okay? Or is it no longer your problem, because it doesn’t affect your tribe?”

The Uhryu took a deep breath and continued, “Scribe, Thank you for your understanding. May you find the words that we are missing.

If a hospital where Torlallur would be able to take disease would solve there need for feeding, we will help in any way we can.

Torlallur has agreed to inform gogs of everything, and if a hosptial will be an alternative to infecting other gogs then those are the two issues that need immediate resolution.
It would also allow us to have a place cure the gogs still sick, which was another one of the issues we wanted solved.

The last two, are that the tribes are free to wander the lands as they have before, I believe as long as they don’t attack Torlallur, Torlallur is aggreed to this. As we wander so shall the other tribes.

The last issue, is the recovery of the dead from the pit. Those that died that expected to become vampyres. I believe if Torlallur and I continue our discussion, they will agree that this is probably the best course of action.

Scribe, Thank you for your words “

Maggul couldn’t help but rub his brow in amazement at the thought that it always had to be the damned bastards that put things into perspective. He opened his mouth ready to challenge and then thought for a moment before sayings what needed to be said, “I ahhh…ok. Very well then, my apologies Uhryu Apprentice. So with this strategy, the GulTor’Uf and Tor’lallur will be working together as healers, acting to spread faith without fear of wrong doing, and take care of the ferals. I believe we may have been given an excellent solution, would this work for both tribes involved?”

Back off to the said, Maggul peered at the tablet and gave his quick response.
“Honored Babi,
I know that a patrol was going over to check out the camp with the desire to take a tour of the facility. They were being led by our Uhryu, after a specific tribal made our frustrations know. Our Uhryu, Zhgog’ol Maklur wants to make sure that Kolgol’s arrival to cobat sickness, is not a plot to spread his interests and cause not wrongdoing. I do not know how the proceedings are going, but I did want to make you aware of the situation. Thank you once again.
-Maggul”

#14

And then the tablet was slipped back to Babi. He continued speaking, Maggul, greatly confused, “No this is an even greater problem, having olgogs that are attacking, killing and looting claim to be the Yagogi. These ferals do not claim to be part of our tribe, and do not follow our ways. We initially met with the ferals, offered them a chance to learn how to hunt and gather for themselves and a place within out tribe if they wished. We told them if they did not want this option, we not longer wanted to be the target of their current ways, and so they left. If they are now coming to you claiming to be the Yagogi, I would have to ask again where are their zela blades. i would home that you can tell the difference between the Yagogi warriors, and some raiding ferals. The only other olgogs carrying zela that I have any knowledge of are the Mag Daron, and apparentl,y Auf lalder is trying to get his hands on some as well. No actual Yagogi are going towards you because we’ve had out hands full testing to find out about Mag Der’al, curing the sickness in Karov and now Kolgol’s occupation of our hunting grounds. If you sincerely believe that the Yagogi are coming after you, I suggest we get together on this to figure out what is going on.”

The Uhryu said, “We don’t know what to make of this group, and we know what we know from gogs asking for our help. On this trail of tears, they come under attack. There food and water is stolen, and they loose love ones from these attacks.

We intend to find these gogs and capture them. We want to find out what cause them to start to raid, this behavior change is usually in response to something else. If we can find what caused the change, we can help them so that they don’t need to raid.

We do know that weapons a gog does not make, we also understand that this was not Yagogi main tribe. We don’t know what tribe they belonged to, or if it was a splinter tribe, but we do know about 30 gogs were doing this. Normally we would take less drastic measures, but we don’t have that luxury at this moment.

We have short term need for food, as there are many more gogs in the area. Some have taken our advice, and when they take food they are planting more seeds. Some do not. We have reached out to some tribes for short term food sources (but have not heard back), and spoke to Mag Yyanyi about some long term solutions. Mag Yyanyi is offering us an introduction to kul Gul Rapi family, as they have created seeds that grow food. We wish to speak to them to see if we can learn how they create them, to see if we can augment the oases and other green places in Karov.

We are looking for a way to create waypoints on the trails, ones were gogs can rest and get food and water. The area around our tribe is gathering to many gogs for when the flamewinds come, so gogs were looking into creating a place for all gogs to come and be safe, if they choose.

We have Mag Daron who is irate with our tribe, and we need to find out why. All we know is it has to do with the Mag Deral. The only thing we know about them is that the EEF wants them dead, and when we asked why we should trust the EEF the representative left.”

Scribe felt his eye twitch as they talked about how to help the traveling olgogs. Taking out his Rune staff, he started to hit his head repeatedly.

After having his fill of hurt Scribe used one of his markers to draw runes on a table, or some other flat surface, that caused a replica of a city to rise.

“I believe I mentioned this before.”

The Dimension Walker remembered why he used to have a policy of having Bastards killed on sight.

"Scribe I didnt ask you WHY we were here!

You accused Tor Lallur of using diseases that were MORE POWERFUL than normally occuring diseases.
You used that as an excuse why they had to stop their worship.

I ask again if you have proof that a COMMON COLD used by Tor Lallur is somehow more powerful than the normal COMMON COLD prove it or apologize for slandering the Tor Lallur."

"GultorUf your statements prove you are acting from Prejudice against Plague Vampyrs and that you simply do not understand them.

You use as an example OtOs side kick? The same CatDancer who appeared at OtOs trial?

A known spy allied with our enemies in the Earther Colonies?

How do you know she just didnt infect everyone in Tlalocal with a cold before she left?
Then she wouldnt need to feed in your area. You dont know. And i dont care about her testimony because its irrelevant.

To compare a trained spy and agent provocateur with the Tor Lallur who are religious beings is the height of intellectual dishonesty."

"And GulTor Uf ambassador there is a Kul Gul Rapi Ambassador right across the room from you.

Yes thats him right over there."

Waves over at Babi.

To Scribe, he said “If we force the ferals into the city you propose then they arent ferals any more.”

There was a manic madness to the way the conversations weaved in and out between the different representatives. Any element of conversation was lost, and soon people were shouting their own ideas at each other.

Shirley interjected, “We can’t be changin’ the ferals. Their ways are their ways. Jus’ like we can’t be changin’ tha ways of the Pitgog. Tha ferals know the consequences of der’na and messin’ with the tribals. Tha pitgog also now know how upset we’d be gettin’ if they make us too sick…”

That just gets us into trouble, she thought to herself.

She looked at the GulTor’uf gog and the Scribe, “so think on that when ya answer his question.” She nods over to Vellum.

The Uhryu took a deep breath, “We don’t intend on forcing the other gogs to do anything, we never have. But there are not enough caves to hold all the gogs that need to take shelter in darning the season of the flamewinds. But if we build a place that will hold off the flamewinds, where any who wish can stay.

We at Gultor’uf believe that enough will come that there will be caves for the ones who remain. We see this place as going to be near vacant during the other 3 seasons of the cycle, when the tribes wander.

It would be the individuals tribe choice, whether they stay in the city or not. Gultor’uf plans to stay in the city, so that the caves we normally stay in can be used by others. When the flamewind city ends, we will wander again.”
Looks at Vellum, the GulTor’Uf Uhryu said, “What would suffice as evidence then? Our word and experience don’t seem to matter, so what can we do, say or show that will count as evidence to you?”

Scribe was once more wishing he had not entered the Goblin lands. after drawing another rune the city changed into several large caves ( tops missing so that they can look inside).

Then said “As much as it pains me to say this, you need to listen. My evidence is witness statements, an admittances of guilt, and hundreds of dead olgogs. Now we have moved past the blame game and are trying to deal with some real issues, please try and keep up.”

Little did Scribe realize he was the one behind the conversation.

Dar’ab was so confused, gogs say odd things. "Dar’ab never say Tor’lallur special sick. just say from Pit. Tor’lallur sick normal sick. Just from Tor’lallur. If Gog sick by self no help. Sick come from Tor’lallur only sick work.

One thing more…What Vampyr mean?"

The Uhryu said “Torlallur, we refer to you as cursed or vampyres because you take life from others and can’t receive healing without dying. Of these, there are different ways they take life, you take life from sickness, and we call you plague vampyres. Others torture or scare gogs to take life, and we have other names for them. But who take life and cant receive healing are collectively called vampyres.

We refer to your sickness and diseases as special because of how they act. Under normal circumstances, if we heal someone who is sick, they don’t get the same sickness again. When you performed this ritual, you kept infecting gogs with the same sickness. This is why we consider it special.”

Scribe chimed in, “Vampyrs are those that feed off of others through fear, pain, or sickness. Even though it is considered bad by some there are those out there who use this ability to help others. And even if you can’t control other illnesses, there are other things your tribe can do to help those that are sick with illnesses not from the Pit.”

"Thank you Dar’ab,

My fellow Ambassadors. Multiple times during our conversation people have spoke of Tor Lallurs disease being more powerful than a normal disease.

This again for the Third time is what i take issue with.

No proof has been given of this. Respected Scribe and Uhryu have made this claim. Scribe twice, Uhryu once just now.

No evidence has been presented that Tor Lallur illness is powerful than a standard one.

I will repeat again for clarity. No evidence has been provided that Tor Lallur diseases are inherently Mystical as Scribe accused earlier.

Im not denying that Tor Lallur spread what they believed was holyness. They thought at the time this was a positive act.

Scribe said Tor Lallurs common cold could not be trusted because it was supernatural.

Provide me proof to that point or apologize for slandering the already confused members of Tor Lallur."

Scribe was on his last nerve with this brain dead olgog. Slamming his staff onto the ground he called up a wooden spike which he started to carve into a sword.

“Once again you ignore the evidence in hopes to start conflict. Why is that?”

Scribe could not see that he had no actual evidence of the plagues used by Tor’Lallur being mystical. Yes he had proof the Tor’Lallur did infect others, and yes he had confessions of the Tor’Lallur Dar’ab saying the Pit was mystical and powerful. With the circumstantial evidence that the GulTor’Uf keep healing the sickness and it kept coming back, can anyone blame the bastard for thinking the sickness itself was mystical? But circumstantial evidence was only that and not true evidence. In fact the Tor’Lallur had been using a very naturally occuring and very non-supernatural bacterial infection they had picked up and brought back to the Pit.

Vellum was apoplectic realizing again he was being threatened by Scribe’s act of sharpening his sword.

“GulTorUf Ambassador. Proof would account for some factual evidence that the sickness is different than normal sickness.
If your tribals were not able to permanently cure it that means little to me. I would want an independent assessment of the biological elements. Otherwise it is hearsay. Your healers are not experienced with all forms of disease and cannot be considered experts.”

The GulTor’Uf Uhryu charged ahead with his questioning, “Torlallur, You said you lived here at least a generation, and during this time you worshiped your pit. We haven’t had an outbreak or mysterious infection for many years, this is the first year we have had it. What changed? What happened? What is different that you infected others this time, when (if we take your word) before it didn’t happen?”

And finally Dar’ab revealed the truth that showed their evidence of a mystical plague was quite lacking.

Dar’ab listen, Shaman say listen, learn. Earlier Dar’ab talk much, no learn. Now learn. Now spread learn. “Dar’ab know answer! Tor’Lur tell Dar’ab why Gog cured come sick again.
Cause we give sick again!
Pit reward Tor’Lallur for giving sick to Gogs. Show Gogs what leave behind.
Must know sick, see what bring Gog down. Only after know can one grow! Heal get in way. So give Gog sick again. Only when Gog feel effect of be sick does Pit show Gog the way. Type sick matter less. When Gog sick, desire no be sick. Can choose temporary better, or be enlightened and master sick! Also other reason. When Gog better, and near sick…become sick again. Natural. Pit give Tor’Lallur strength over sick, teach other to master sick, strong.” Dar’ab pounds his chest in emphasis of the word strong.

“We promise no give sick again after Gog better, only weak strain of Pit in future. Also, offer new thing. If you Gogs find sick that Tor’Lallur no do, bring to Tor’Lallur and we take away. All future sick, watch carefully, no out of hand. Make sure no spread further then plan. No Gog die from sick from Tor’Lallur. When offer Pit, Gogs know may no come back. Either master sick, be one with Pit, or choose leave. Master sick, or One with Pit, most honorable. Can choose leave though. No sure why, but give option.”

Torlallur, what you are saying is that we have to deal with you making us sick. That your rights to religion are above every other gogs in karov’s right to live peacefully. in effect your will is above all others, and all the others must suffer unless we join you as the cursed.

You called me dumb for suggesting that the Church of one has the right to put their religous beliefs on your tribe (amoung others). what gives you the right to sicken others? Because it is your beliefs? What happens when other beliefs are counter to yours? Do we ignore theirs and say yours are the priority?

I asked again, what changed if you have been living in Karov? If you have been performing this ceremony, why aren’t there other plagues and sickness that it would have caused?”

But the Uhryu found himself once more interrupted by Vellum.

Vellum says, “That fixes that mystery.
Nothing mystical about the disease.
The Tor Lallur misunderstood your act of healing. They reinfected communities trying to make them better. No mystical diseases here.”

To Scribe he said pointedly, "You owe Dar’ab an apology. As members of the Der’al Collective we should be supportive of our fellow leaders. Instead you slandered the Tor Lallur based on conjecture and jumping to conclusions.

Should I assume your sharpening of your sword is some sort of threat?

If you like Mr Scribe I can brandish my weapon too. Though it might cause Shirley to faint."
Vellum gestured at the ornate codpiece of enourmous proportions that made up part of his uniform. Shirley was unimpressed.

Scribe put the practice sword he was making down and said “No what Dar’ab just said was that they were unintentionaly re infecting the healed. They just promised to vaxinat the tribes around them to maintains their faith and make others stronger. A very smart plan of action if I must say.”

“I Dar’ab, Tor’Lallur is tribe. I not entire tribe. I just Dar’ab. Sides, no you tribe sick. Only other Feral tribe get sick. (It is in the Reaping of Karov mission, only the feral tribes got infected Your tribe would not have gotten sick according to the mission) We have right spread faith, you have right spread faith.”

Dar’ab’s normally calm face twists in anger
"You say peace, Feral tribe raid, kill. Raid kill many tribe, that peace? Raid kill Tor’Lallur, that peace. raid kill many. Feral tribes no know peace. Know fight, strong live, weak die. Always been so, all generations. Fancy Gogs, in Karov live in oasis, we starve, fight for little. Fancy Gog, in Tla’loc’al live under ground, safe. We wander barely survive. Fancy Gog live in Brez, shelter, strength. What rest have? Rest us, have dirt, blood, pain. Fancy Gog for generations watch rest us suffer in nothing. What give you right judge? You wallow in oasis, rest us die. You more deserve life? You more deserve safe? You above all Feral Gog? Treat us like animal, like Mal’ie. Only good be penned up, watched cause we too stupid to be left alone. Tor’Lallur like rest have fight, defend what have.

You no right judge, go back to Oasis, you safe perfect land. Know nothing. Know nothing cause live in wealth. No know how is to suffer like feral so. Cause Unnamed Gog tribe see feral as animal.
Pit save Tor’Lallur, Pit save many more. That was mission of tribe. Tor’Lallur agree to take more care in saving other Gog. Less forcefully."

#17

Dar’ab turned to Scribe again. “No, no listen. No say unintentionally. Before we give sick again on purpose. Feral Gogs need see suffering of sick. Then understand why need master sick. Better informed, to make choice if join Pit. You no listen.”

The Uhryu grew increasingly frustrated. Why could these gogs not see the danger inherent in cults like the Tor’Lallur.
“There are 10 score of gogs that consider themselves citizens of Gultor’uf. The wander the sands around us. They are gogs you refer to as ferals. What you are telling us, is that you are going to make them sick unless they join you. As you will to all other tribes.

We don’t care what you care what you believe, as long as you don’t force them on others.

You were at the Deral Collective, we voted no to the law All tribes have their own ways, in their lands their ways are law. We voted because this will happen. Another tribe does something willfully that affects other tribes.

We talked about phrasing of the laws, and how good intentions can create laws that harm others.

We would suggested the law be, if a crime happens between members of the same tribe, the tribe they belong to handles it.
This would assume that each area has some form of conflict resolution, as we have before we all started to become “civilized”

Because this would lead into the second part of the law

If a crime happens between two different tribes, in the same area (Karov, unen etc) then the government/conflict resolution of that area deals with it.

And the last

If a crime happens between two different tribes from different areas then the greater government will take care of it.

This is a good system because it clearly shows that intertribal affairs stay there. We would love this to happen, and we would follow it.

You will not budge, You tell us you intend to kill and convert the gogs, because you think it makes them strong. You intend to make them suffer, by infecting them with sickness. Out of fear, you are telling us you won’t infect us at Gultor’uf, just the ones you think are ferals. Until when? Until you no longer fear us, then what? Will you then call us feral and infect us?

We have asked what changed, what is different. We have heard no response to this, just that you need to do it. And not that you need to do it, that you will do it regardless of whether the tribes want to or not.

You have made your decision to discard our words, and our words have failed again. We wish you wouldn’t force others to become sick, but it seems like no matter what you will. And because of that we at Gultoruf must act.”

Scribe was ready to cry. He had just gotten rid of his head ache when they decided to start fighting again.

“This sword,” he said, “Is for my student. The only reason I am carving it here is that it was the first thing I could think of to not flip out and start attacking everyone here. If it will make you feel better I can carve something else.” Next he addressed the Uhryu and Dar’ab. He thought of several ways to stop their constant bickering. He settled for throwing a blunt wood chip from his carving at each of them.

Shirley looked at him in astonishment. The little bastard was lucky he was throwing stuff at Karovians, they might be polite folks. If he had dared to throw something at her during a diplomatic meeting, she would have beaten that little bastard’s head in to teach him some manners.

Scribe said, “Both of you please stop fighting like children over a toy. We are here to bring change together and represent our tribes or in my case because this is my job. The way you are acting is making your tribes look like a group of Kue’lo.
I thought we had an agreement that you two would make a place of healing with GulTor’Uf healing and Tor’Lallur feeding and vaxinating. Both of you wish to make the olgogs around Karov strong so they survive. Work together to do so.” Finally he addressed the Ka Gor representative.

“I admit to being wrong in my conclusion on Tor’Lallur’s illness. As such I will speak with Dar’ab, or another member of the tribe to settle my debt to them. But I will not do so here as that is a matter for us to settle. If they wish for you to be there with them then so be it.”

#18

Vellum wondered if he was trapped in an echo chamber.
He adjusted his codpiece and says, "Scribe you felt the urge to attack and kill?
That is normal and natural.
The reason that it is normal and natural is that no one is actually listening to each other.

I am tired of referring to GultorUf ambassador as we have.
Since I know Uhyru Bill of the Green Pants has a name and he is an Uhryu then I find it absurd for you Ambassador to be only called Uhryu.

But the purpose of this meeting is not to judge the nomenclature any member of this tribe chooses to use in self addressal.

We have been talking about peace for some time and GulTorUf does not seem interested. He wants to attack the Tor Lallur.

Let us hypothesize he does. Do you really truly think it ends there? A simple attack and extermination of the Tor Lallur?
Let us even say you wipe them out in a single attack.

You renounced your Membership in the DC. That means you are an outsider attacking the whole of the Der’al Collective.

Scribe who defends your points so earnestly would be forced by alliance to turn on you.

And despite Bills stylish bright green lower half, I would have to make the fashion the lesser deciding factor.

Our Honor as an alliance would be called into question. Others would think the Collective weak otherwise."

The Uhryu countered aghast, “We aren’t really talking about peace. We are speaking about enshrining the ability to biologically attack others into law, If you are Torlallur. How can there be peace, when you are being made sick intentionally by others?”

Scribe looked at the Uhryu, saying, “So you think I should kill every doctor that uses vaccines to make sure people are healthy and do not get any dangerous illnesses?”

The Uhryu replied, “Scribe, Doctors get consent before they give vaccinations.”

As Scribe asked his question he called on another wood spike and started carving. This time he was making small wooden replicas of each member of this gathering, leaving the sword to be finished later.

Vellum interjected,
"GulTorUf if you were worried about “laws” you wouldnt have left the DC and declared war. You would have tried a legislative attempt first within the DC.

You didn’t. Now it is not a question of how the Collective handles internal disagreements.

It is the question of if you are attacking the Der’al Collective. And the subsequent consequences of escalating warfare."

Maggul was greatly surprised that the Der’al Collective would just openly show this side of how thing were being run, and how cohesive a collective they actually were. It was actually getting a tad awkward to witness this and see how poorly things were going for them…but of course, there was alot going on within the UtR currently too. Maggul decided now was the right time for a something is in the back of my throat cough “Ackkhhh, ackkhh, Sorry just a little dry in here, and …somewhat tense. You all might not want to be discussing things like this while outsiders are present, or if you’re so confident that everything is going to work out alright, go ahead. It is your call really, but internal warfare, that kind stuff seems fairly private.”

Oliver of the Armies of Eloga replied, “If GulTor’Uf had remained in the Der’al Collective, you are right this would be a private matter. However their tribe has left the Collective. Now they are an external threat to one of our members, and apparently your tribe as well. The Der’al Collective had hoped to bring tribes both allied and not, together to find a solution.”

Meanwhile Dar’ab and the Uhryu of GulTor’Uf were growing heated again.

Dar’ab rolled his eyes "Tor’lallur no scared of unnamed Gog tribe. Offer consession cause war bad. Excuse for tyrant Gog claim own ferals. Unnamed Gog ask why spread Pit now no before? Before no tyrant Gogs try control all round. Pit make Gog strong resist tyrant Gog. Protect Gog, from Gog like you. Gog that claim feral tribe now theirs. Pit sacred, save Gog. War cause Gog die no reason. Waste. War? ugh, what war good for? Nothin. Unnamed Gog want bring war Tor’lallur? We no stand by die. Unnamed Gog say starve, die, only options. Tor’lallur say no. Tor’lallur choose live. You no accept this, sad.

Dar’ab offer lot. Offer give all Gogs choice if go in Pit or no. Tell Gogs might come out strong, stay within Pit be part forever, or walk way. Offer to spread no leathal version of Pit (common cold) kill no Gog with sick. No good nough for Unnamed Gog. Dar’ab say okay to take away sick from Gogs no made sick from Tor’lallur in unnamed gog ‘hospital’ place. Offer much Dar’ab have. Unnamed Gog offer nothing, just make demand. Tyrant Gog make only demand. Dar’ab tired listen demand. Tor’lallur willing bend, Unnamed Gog want Tor’lallur break. Tor’lallur no break.

Unnamed Gog want war? Gog sent to harm Tor’lallur gonna learn bout Pit, very well."

The Uhryu snapped back, “We understand what you are saying

You are planning to infect all tribes in karov with sickness, then go and tell them they can join you to not be sick. They may die in the process though.

You are telling them, that you are going to make them sick.

You are telling these gogs, that you will make them suffer, whether they want to or not.

They you will give them an offer, stay sick forever or join you.

Yes you may tell that they my die, but you still are going to infect others with your disease. You aren’t giving a choice about this, you are going to make gogs suffer until they die or join you.”

#19

Vellum jumped right in the middle of them, “"No you obviously do not understand.

Dar’ab offered to switch from a deadly plague to a common cold.
You offered no compromise and demanded war.

Dar’ab offered to not reinfect those healed of this common cold.
You offered no compromise and demanded war.

Dar’ab offered to heal all non-pit related disease in Karov.
You offered no compromise and demanded war.

Dar’ab accepted spreading his faith only through means of consent.
You offered no compromise and demanded war.

You then twist his words. You try and make it seem like he offered no compromise. He already offered to compromise every aspect of his faith to assuage your bleeding heart.

This leaves me two thoughts that are inconcievable.

Thought one you GulTorUf ambassador are unnamed because you dont work for GulTorUf at all and are actually a disciple of the Warmonger.

Thought 2, you are merely a child, an apprentice. Not someone who is the best Uhryu in all of GulTorUf earning the right to use only the name Uhryu. And if you are simply an unnamed apprentice making such poor choices then you have never seen true war upfront and personal.

When the skins of flayed GulTorUf tribals flap like banners and the ferals you care so much about are merely food for the ravenous Kolgul then child you will understand what war really means.

Which thought is right Unnamed Gog? Are you a Warmonger Cultist? Or an Apprentice in way over your head?”

The Uhryu just could not seem to get through to this fancy Olgog, “Yes they are going to switch to common cold

Yes they said they would heal other diseases not coming from them

Yes they said they will only curse the gogs that agree to it and tell them they might die.

No, they did not say they wouldn’t just infect the tribes that are willing. They said they will infect everyone with common cold, because it is there religious right.

This is like a gog tribe cutting of the arms of other gogs. When caught and asked to stop, they offer to only cut of the gogs hands. It’s a compromise see? One tribe wants them to stop cutting of the arms, while they want to. So cutting off the hands is a great compromise!

This is what Torlallur is offering as a compromise, except they are using diseases instead of physical attacks.

This is wrong. To let them infect gogs that don’t consent, would be to perpetuate evil.”

Vellum continued his verbal attack, without even processing what the Uhryu said. Vellum said,
"I see you did not answer my question about your credentials Unnamed Gog.

You are making a false comparison. The common cold is not equal to cutting off limbs or fingers.

If a gog kept sneezing in his hand and shaking the hands of every other gog they met to give everyone the common cold no one would suggest War!

If a person knowingly spread a common cold most would look at them as eccentric not a threat to national security. And the trade off is NO OTHER actually dangerous illnesses, it is the ultimate societal innoculation against a real plague.

You just dislike them because you are prejudiced against the cursed. You see no value in them and then believe it your right to wipe them out.

Just because your prejudice forces you to ignore their value you have no right to take away their value to the Der’al Collective."

The Uhryu gave up in frustration, “What use is it to give qualifications, if you don’t believe me?”
Vellum sneered saying, “Unnamed Gog, why would I believe you if you don’t even tell me your name? Not your title or job description or curriculum vitae, just your name.”

Once again Scribe tried to convince the Uhryu of GulTor’Uf of another path.

Looking at Uhryu, Scribe said “The hospital idea would mean that anyone that gets infected gave permission. It will mean they are helping protect the olgogs from more harmful sicknesses. The more they collect the more they can protect them from. It also makes it so that any bad reactions or harsher illness can be treated which means the number of deaths. It protects all of Karov from plagues and germ warfare. They would be the defense that stops the outside forces that want to decimate these lands with something worse then what Tor’Lallur did.”

The Uhryu replied “I believe Torlallur and I both understood the hospital idea was not to infect others, it was to heal others.”

The Uhryu would not agree. As long as the Tor’Lallur reserved the right to forcibly infect anyone against their will, the GulTor’Uf would not give in.

Lallur had been quiet for a while listening to the back and forth. Then all of the pieces the Vellum put together. That was actually a great deal. He did not understand why the Gultor’uf tribe does not take it. War is always bad. Here they had a tribe of Plague vampyres willing to ton it down and even help with sickness. They still had to sistain themselves, but to so opening work with everyone was unheard of.

Lallur said to group "The ironic part of this is that Bill, who calls Lalder a Tyrant for Building farms because it might take land from others, amongst other reasons. Now, He is so bent on going to war, he would throw away a chance for peace amongst tribes they were almost in a nation with.

I understand Gultor’uf is under pressure because they took on too much responsibility. In my opinion at first, Dar’ab’s tribe, was in the wrong with their past actions against the ferals under Gultor’uf’s protection. But Dar’ab’s compromise resolves most of those complaints and gives the reinsurances needed to keep all parties involved from war. If Gultor’ur would accept them, this could just be done.

Why isn’t Bill here anyways? This seems important enough."

#20

The Uhryu countered, “You created farms, and took the land that was used for hunting and gathering away from other. This lead to tribes starving, and then attacking to gain sustenance. To which you claimed you were the victim, and force converted or killed the ones that were hungry. Perhaps if you listened back then, the starving gogs wouldn’t have been hungry and attacked out of desparation.”

Lallur says to the gulTorUf gog "The farms he’s created feed many in our lands, in the UtR, and in Brez. Our farms are underground, they do not take hunting grounds. Ferals starved because of war and destructions caused by the Oners attacks leaving radiation, by Enemy tribes poisoning food, and other things that killed the natural life around Unen and other lands. Which once we realized, we, the UtR and even Tor Lallur tribe helped cleaned up. We fight the poisoner in Brez, but he is beyound our reach right now. The Ferals were hungry not due to our actions and some would not accept our help to help themselves. That is on them too.

But You make assumptions that are not always true. "

To Dar’ab, Lallur said "While I cannot speak for all of UtR, but I would like to bring your offer to Gultor’uf to my tribe if you would agree to the same for us. I understand you have to feed. For the occasional cold some gogs, your tribe only converting willing Gogs, not reinfecting the healed, help with any major disease, and knowing we would not have reason to fight in the future.

I know this discussion is not about us, but I would not want to miss a chance to have peace between our tribes."

"Peace does not appear overnight. It requires hard work, empathy and faith in the process of creating peace.
It requires a strong social contract, irrespective of prejudices.
Peace is hard work.

If Dar’ab agrees to your offer Lallur, and that choice lies firmly with him learned ambassador, then I offer on behalf of the Der’al collective to set up a Hospital and Embassy building in your tribal lands where healing, education and religious tolerance can go hand in hand.

This hospital embassy will be administrated and defended by the army of the True Flame.

And you will be encouraged and supported in exchange to build an embassy in the lands controlled by the True flame. For full openess our lands are under constant attack from Warmongers Dead. Any embassy you build would need to be able to push back the hated dead."

“Dar’abs olgogs must be allowed to maintain a small pit in the embassy for their own religious worship of course.”

Vellun says to Dar’ab, “Would the Tor Lallur value this opporunity to safely spread the Pit Faith among neighbors who welcome the Tor Lallur?” Then realize he may have spoken above Dar’abs head he said, “This is a safe way to honor your Pit and teach new gogs about the pit.”

“There are two sides to every story.” Ka’zac intoned quietly.

"To help, or not to help, this is the choice that we are always presented with. Lalder took a risk by helping, and his intentions were not to harm the natives, but to create more food for all that live there. Yes, perhaps better communication could have been used to express our efforts, but in the end, his efforts resulted in a more prosperous and sustainable land. Is this a bad thing? While some were initially harmed, the result is the survival of far more gogs that were possible before.

“To me it seems the same with this offer of Tor’Lallur, to take a small sickness in exchange for the elimination of deadly diseases which would cause mass death in the long run, an offer that our tribe would readily accept, were it our choice to make.”

To Ka’zac Lallur says "Thank you for the defence of my elder. "

Vellum said to Ka’zac, "If Dar’ab agrees to it, I make the same offer to you that I made with Lallur.
The Army of the True Flame has enough area in the space set aside for the Auf Lal’al embassy to set up one for the Ka Rhug as well.

This would be a good and rightous thing. One day the Army of the True Flame wanted to build a city. Now I can have my master architect Quill base the designs so it extends out from the Embassy area I will have set aside for Ka Rhug and Auf Lal’al.

Dar’ab, It is my personal assessment that expanding the Pit to both Ka Rhug and Auf Lal’al territories (in the confines of the Hospital Embassies) would allow your faith to reach many new potential congregants.

Irrespective of my opinion, I would like your input Dar’ab. You know your fellow tribals better than any of the intelligensia here. Would the Tor Lallur like to take part in this?"

To Vellum and Dar’ab "There is a free city that Lalder started by the Train station in Tla’loc’al. This is a place of Learning for Olgogs and Earthers. A way for Earthers to learn we are not what the Oners say. This maybe a good place for us to try these embassies in our lands. It is not as neutral as Simionsburg, but the town is growing. And we can send some to the city you talk of Vellum.
