Prologue: Jak’hal had a Crew
Silas didn’t truly sleep, not anymore. A crackle of electricity popped as his armor disconnected from the wall where it had been charging, and his consciousness was restored. His vision came into focus, noting the familiar command prompt the Gilgamesh armor was displaying in it’s HUD.

User interface error, manual override required

“Authorization code B74829” He said, sighing wearily.

Override accepted, mobility enabled

He walked down the corridor of the spaceship, muttering greetings through the speaker in his helmet to the rest of the crew as he passed them. He’d been working with Jak’Hal’s crew for a good while now, ever since the timely raid on Fort Knox just before it was destroyed by the Iron Republic, a feat made possible through the use of time travel. He’d readily accepted a place among the crew after that, working as a fighter for the pirates. His skill in combat was enhanced by his armor, now quite influenced by the time spent with pirates, the original paint worn away in many places, a grinning skull and crossbones painted onto the front torso, and an impressive array of bumper stickers placed around the armor like tattoos. An “I heart Mom” sticker stood out on the right shoulder.

As far as he was concerned, this was just another mission to him. The difference was, he wanted out after it was done. He’d had a good run with the crew, but he had an insatiable wanderlust that was heightened by the fact he’d never set foot on the infamous Refuge before. He would of course request to simply be dropped off afterwards instead of a special trip through time, and he’d make sure he had an honorable departure by helping as best he could in this prison break. He would primarily deal with the armored opponents in the prison, using his anti-armor weapons to kill them with precision, also with the added goal of causing a distraction through excessive destruction to allow the others working with him to take less fire from the defenders.
All these thoughts moved through his mind, but he noticed much of the crew seemed hesitant to actually land on the Penal Station where Jak’hal was being kept. Silas made sure to file that away for later, if the Cap’n wanted to know who stood by him and who cowered in their boots, Silas had a list.
Still it was a concerning operation, one with many moving parts, the most important of which was getting past the defenses of a TEA TemporalMax Station. And the Gu’ah had Combat Meks, Antipersonal guns, and Da’uhnb Guards and Cambion Enforcers.
They had 36 hrs local time between when Jak’hal was captured, and when the TEA finally moved him from the common cellblocks to where a cell had been created to hold him outside of time.

Lt. Cmdr Veserius Todd, a Cambion, and child of Jak’hal, was acting commanding officer of the pirate vessel, and he had promised Silas freedom and a retirement package in exchange for one last job.
V.Todd had little information on all those hired by Jak’hal, other than a simple set of Guild House codes, each one associated with a different merc or free agent hired for this task. But he knew he could trust Silas, and thought that as long as Jak’hal was free it did not matter what other consequences occurred.
At the airlock, V.Todd gave Silas and the first set of Mercs the go ahead to begin boarding the Temporal Enforcement Agency Penal Space Station known as Cure Station. What happened now was up to them. V.Todd motioned for the hackers to begin disabling the sensor grids and defenses.

To both Silas and V.Todd’s shock, the first set of hacks sent the security system into overdrive. They could see the Meks and other AI driven defenses targeting not the pirates, and not the prisoners but the Da’uhnb guards who maintained the prison.

Silas could hear an emergency alert blinking on and off, and alerted V.Todd who brought up a digital display. The guards were being slaughtered allright, but it was a catastrophic endgame.
As each Da’uhnb jailor died, the spirits of the ancient evils they had consumed were suddenly free. And they had their pick of the now escaping Temporal Criminals who saw this moment as a chance for a full prison break. Demon Princes, Fiends, and Soul Takers of Warmonger suddenly found themselves hosting inside the bodies of powerful entities, and they were gleeful.
V.Todd motioned to the mercs, “We have little time, get in there, collect the Captain and get out.”

Part 1: Time is a Knotted Rope

Visij watched the sensor readings. It was light years from Temporal Booking Station 74 and the TemporalMax Gu’ah Station, but the Da’uhnb knew he could teleport between the two within moments if he chose. But such a choice was a bad, bad choice. Every Da’uhnb who had reported to the prison break had been gunned down by automated defenses.
It was ironic, he had lowered the facilities computer defenses just so Hekeriki could hack it showing her value to the Pirates and getting them to take her to the rebel, Maverick Multimancer. Visij had hoped that trading Jak’hal’s freedom for capturing Mortis Leonin would be a worthy trade. Jak’hal was a pirate and treasure hunter, he liked most species and didn’t want the timeline destroyed, whereas Leonin was a xenocidal maniac. It was a trade but he never expected this sort of fallout.
Sensor readings showed cell after cell open up, countless dangerous and deadly species and individuals released. Millenia of work undone by a single act of a single hacker who used the lowered defenses for an even more spectacular prison break than the one Hekericki and Visij had discussed. He tracked it back to its source using an expert system, and found to his dismay, the codes that hijacked the AI and turned it on the guards came from Refuge, and bore the signature coding of a war criminal known as Olgog the Olgog. Visij guessed he shouldn’t be surprised. These days, whenever he found something funky going on in the timeline, it did trace back to Refuge.

This time his work was cut out for him. He began scanning the dockets on the escaped prisoners, and felt a deep gloom overcoming him. The Kefeda Queen of the Quall escaped, sigh. The human serial killer Maximillion HorrorShow had escaped, grrr. Ceroxis 10.1.2 escaped, that was going to be a pain. The Tzira Keikan Shurn, well he is going to try and wipe out the Iron Republic before its time…gotta stop that. Cyborg Hunter Model 207…after all his temporal hijinks…
AND Vox Seraph, oh my Queen, what are we going to do with the Vox Seraph? How are we going to capture her again…worried Visij.
Visij sunk his claw into his desk with enough force to cut the desk in half.
The temporal agents who were monitering screens around him took a step back. None of them wanted to see an angry Da’uhnb in action.
Then Visij got to the name on the bottom of the list, passing by hundreds of lesser temporal criminals and his eyes opened wide. He called up an emergency line directly to the Da’uhnb Queen.
“Most beloved mother, Queen of our kind, I have the overwhelming duty to advise you that Temporal General Hurniker Guerre has escaped. My Queen, no TEA outpost is safe. Please initiate full lockdown. The only Da’uhnb to ever fall to serve as an avatar of Warmonger has escaped. I repeat Hurniker Guerre has escaped with all those he once consumed.
In his gut is the demonic princes of all four of the great ancient evils, all those he culled when he helped Warmonger rise to power. I do not fear him directly, but deeply fear what would happen if he were killed in a time period where other Da’uhnb were not ready to consume the demons he had fed upon.
They will be free. Strong, powerful Demonic Princes who need to host. Creatures who warp reality with their presence. And I fear Hurniker Guerre will seek out the armies of Warmonger, and he will aid them, using all held within his gut as a deadman’s switch if any were fool enough to try and kill him.
Hurniker Guerre will try and end time as we know it, before it even began in this multiverse. He will seek the start point, where you my Queen stood firm against the Warmonger, and end this reality before it even begins.”

The Da’uhnb Queen was great and mighty, and devoted her life to the support of this reality. She smiled upon the devotion of Visij and said, “DO not worry my Temporal agent, my child, Hurniker Guerre has already been eaten by me. Consumed at the start of time where he sought to turn the balance of power.”
Visij realized that time flowed as it did. But his fears were not yet assuaged.
“If at the beginning of time, this temporal criminal was destroyed, do you know what he accomplished first before his arrival at his termination???” asked Visij.

“No…I only know his end. I do not know his beginning, his middle , or his acts,” agreed the Da’uhnb Queen.
“Then we must assume he knew his death would lie with you my Queen,” said Visij, “We must discover what he changed, before he arrived at his final death.”
“Yes my child, such are the tasks set forth for the TEA,” said the Da’uhnb Queen sadly, “Time is a knotted rope. Certain events are fated, not because they are just, but because they are needed, they are necessary. They are the path that leads us to salvation and destruction. Despite so many timelines spreading out endlessly around us. There is but one path to prevent this timeline falling to evil. One path, by which the Ascended may overcome the Descended. And there are many roads to this one path. Many roads twisting, and turning through time and space. Roads that the mortals do not even realize they tread. And when they feel the universe shake around them. May they be drawn to the path, that frees them from the Warmonger’s corruption.
Warmonger has at his side, the upstart evil known as Kalok. He hopes to turn Kalok against the mortal beings and consume them in fire, so that Warmonger may march upon their burnt remains with his conquering army. Kalok does not realize he is a pawn, just as the Dragon of Unity does not realize it holds the key to Warmonger’s permanent imprisonment.”

Visij choked at that spitting out, “You want us to aid the Dragon of Unity?”
“No” said the Queen, “But the Dragon of Unity, the Dragon of Fate, stands at a crossroads. As a greater evil it must choose. Will it stand alongside the four great Ancient Evils who have already sworn loyalty to the balance? Or will it consume reality after reality as the Warmonger does. With the fires of Kalok and the intelligence of the Dragon of Unity, the four Ancient Evils might once more free themselves from Warmonger’s chains. They might once more devote themselves to the balance.”
Bearing her terrifying fangs, the Queen said, “Evil is but one part of balance. Good is another. The balancers the third. But the Warmonger seeks the end of all life. The end of the balance, and the end of all reality. Because the Warmonger sees only worth in destruction.
The Creeping Darkness sees the beauty in consuming of lives, but it requires those lives to exist and perpetuate for its harvesting. The Maw of the Deep sees beauty in the greed of its followers and their endless sacrifices to feed that greed. The Accuser sees the beauty in heartless indoctrination of the masses, their devotion and corruption at its touch. Xephon of the Sky sees beauty in their oppression, in the conquest of their souls, and their lingering worship. Kalok sees beauty when the mortals burn others in his name. And the Dragon of Unity, sees beauty in the connectedness of the mortal minds, and how it can control the masses through this connection between people.

All of the above desire mortals, need mortals to live and thrive and spread across the stars so that it can achieve its own desires. All of these six greater evils, at their core, are servants of the Balance. An end to sentient free willed life, they fully know, would result in their own eventual death by starvation.
But the Warmonger desires none of this. Not even a single dissenting voice. For even a single voice must be crushed under the boot heel of its armies. Must be killed. Must be wiped out. Until only the Warmonger remains, the king of the hill, a hill of dead, destroyed lives. Warmonger seeks pure stagnation for this reality, Warmonger seeks the end of all choice. Warmonger seeks the end of balance.”
Visij sat back in his chair overwhelmed by these statements. He knew the Da’uhnb where there to prevent the Ancient Evils from overstepping their bounds. But never before had he heard the truth behind the delicate nature of balance. “But what of the Time Shredders, my queen?”
“They utilize the annihilation to rip apart and rewrite realities as they pass. Each new reality they spring forth is a new battleground. A new place where either Warmonger will win, or the Balance will win. Do they aid us? I do not know. But look at the birth of Kalok the Volcano. Look at the rise of the Dragon of Unity. Even evil may aid us against the Warmonger. For the Warmonger is beyond evil and good. It is pure destruction of all we hold dear. Even the evilest of Oppressors still dreams of holding a kingdom of living beings in their control.
Despite their evil nature, they seek to promote life (if only to make themselves grandiose). I know this is hard my child. But look to the evil ones. They will be your best allies, simply share with them, that all they have built will be shattered, all they have loved lost, and all they wish to build will be an ashpile if the Warmonger gets its way. Once you show them that…even the worst of evils often bends to the balance.”

Visij watched the holographic screen go dark. He muttered to himself, “And I thought when Rurik doppleganged me and it caused the K’ias Wars it was bad. This seems… so much worse.”
And the mighty Da’uhnb hero cried. He cried for all those who would feel pain, and all who were already suffering.

Part 2: So Im Gonna Do Stuff
“Don’t you usually drive a hover truck?”, ask the olgog girl to the earther woman.
“Yeah, but I can pilot the g-copter well enough. Jamesville is ahead. Pop your Anti-Radiation meds and don’t suck in too many… rads.", stated the woman clamly over the noise of the machine.
“Thanks. I never got your name.”
“I’m just a nobody not needed to know. Call me Sara the Hammer of Thor. Hekeriki, honey? Are you nervous?”
Hekeriki noded.
“You’ll be fine. Godart wouldn’t let you do this if he didn’t think you could handle yourself.”
“He’s a moron.”
“That he is.”, laughed the earther woman as brushed her black bangs out of her eyes.
Hekeriki slipped her orange gar glasses off blue headed hair and onto her face. “Muri wo Tooshite Douri wo Kettobasu! ”
“Just… just… stop that weebo crap.”
“Time to Shred! Er some chumps I’ll roll.”
“You are worse than Cortez.”
They arrived at the ruins of Jamesville and were greeted by a trio of massive Da’uhnb wearing dirty radiological power armor. Hekeriki wondered if their rad profile could actually be used to track their jumps as she watched the Mega-Ton Clan members have fun with each other.
They took Hekeriki first to the assault on the TemporalMax. It was a madhouse of teleporting Da’uhnb with all manner of firearms fighting off what should be their own protectors. A path had been cut through the meks by a Unity Senechal, and the door of Jak’hal’s containment vessel inside his cell was cracked wide open by Silas’ shoulder mounted cannon.
Jak’hal stepped out with a flourish, shocked to see the bedlam all around.
“I asked for a prison break for me, my friends, not for every rough scallywag who happened to be in the cells on this floor,” snarled Jak’hal.
Hekeriki quickly hacked the network with her wireless computer and downloaded floorplans. And she checked the alerts as she did so, “Not just this floor captain.”
They saw icy beings charging up the hall at them. Khalid stepped out and used his flamethrower to drive them back. “Why do they have Iceguard stored here in cells, Captain?”
“The Tribe of Fredrick Ice-heart, I believe,” said the K’ias sadly, “They were IceGuard who stole the living crystal technology of Garmin Fe, and took it back in time to to save the life of one of Warmonger’s evil generals. It resulted in several additional years of horrific battles on Les’tas’tral, but since I have no interest in serving as history teacher. Let us get out of the Gu’ah.”
Meanwhile an Olgog female was working hard on removing Zela shards from his side. She had a Karovian look. She removed enough flesh and zela grit to allow them to heal the pirate captain and return him to his normal shapeshifting form.
Jak’hal looked around, “Where are the Mega-Ton Clan?”
There was a flash of Blue light and they were taken from the quickly disintegrating situation aboard the TemporalMax.

Epilogue: Time Time Time what has become of me….

Ryuk sat in Lord Mada’s Manor. Politics might have swung in Mada’s favor and Ryuk lost the casino in Bartsport, but he hoped his allies within the Kasanthian Hierarchy would still shine upon him. A simple mission for his newest apprentice had gone swimmingly well. Unfortunately an old pal Jorvin Dulk had sent an interesting message

Dear Mr. Ryuk

I am sorry to inform ya that me and my boys won’t be able to help ya with these pirates. It seems that they are a violent sort that tend to prey upon others. We cannot support that directly, as it would violate our own moral code. These pirates not only harm others, they violate space and time and that ain’t no good. We have sent your apprentice forward as he was quite keen on doin your will which is his right. We can only pray that things aren’t harmed too much by people’s meddlin.

Regretfully
Jorvin Dulk.

Ryuk put the correspondence down. At the very least, Jorvin had helped his apprentice return safely. It was times like these, Ryuk was happy to have friends like Jorvin. Even if he didn’t do as commanded, he did come through in helping teach his apprentice a few valuable lessons.

Ryuk set in a call to Captain Axis, his mentor during the First Great Space Expansion of the TRLAT. The knowledge that there was a full on Temporal Prison break should be the first bit of info passed on to the 1st Knight of Fate of the Unity.
He reached out to touch his mind as Captain Axis was interfacing with the Choir of Fate and the copy Rurik Scepter. The Usurper exposed his full force through the link of the Rurik Scepter.
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a young TEA officer named Visij was trying to track down the Usurper, and captured him consuming him and holding him contained. But before he could return to the Queen for his conversion into lifeforce, the Officer was apprehended by a K’ias spy named Rurik and doppelganged as part of his interrogation. The Usurper used that moment to enter Rurik and when Rurik was killed, the usurper waited.
Parts of Rurik would be forged into a scepter and held later by the K’iou in the Rurik Homeforge. And in its depths, exposed to the power of the Usurper through the scepter some of the most evil K’ias were given birth that ever lived. But the Rurik Scepter was not done with its corrupting influences.
It showed the K’ias Emperor Mar’un’ga of planets where the Nightmare Lords hunted the K’ias for sport and then actual images from our future, a future where the K’ias were wiped out, nearly extinct except a handful on a couple of planets. It drove the K’ias Emperor to make deals with the Warmonger. Deals to gain descended powers and troops to defend his K’ias and wage a war against the Nightmare Lords and wipe them out. Of course this led to the what modern folks called the K’ias Wars.
It all started with the Usurper and the Rurik Scepter and a Being seeking to look across time and space. When the Uth curse struck Captain Axis it removed him from the control of his body and mind for a moment as he rode the curse and it rode him. The Usurper used this moment to hijack his body and send messages to construction devices across the Unity expanse.
They rapidly printed off hundreds of copies of the Dragon of Fate but in miniature. Smaller and less dangerous than the Dragon of Unity, this Swarm of Dragons of Fate and their immediate ravages on nearby systems hid other smaller builds that occurred of other more selective Warmonger centered units.

None knew the Usurper used the pathway except Ryuk, whose third party perspective allowed him to glimpse the demon printing off a Vrangian Guard body, and sending it off to act as his demonhost. He escaped on board a TRILAT ship shadowjumping beyond Unity space.
Captain Axis didn’t know of the hijack, since once his curse was over, the demon who had no permission to take him was driven from his body. He sent off his Technobroken after Leonin, using the coordinates he had gained.
TB the broken appeared on Earth and found Earth was not what he thought it to be. Missiles from the sky struck him as he strode across the ruined city streets. The buildings were crumbling, many held up by nothing more than the plasteel they had been sprayed with.
Others were strong, reinforced by their inhabitants to survive the floods and the extreme weathers. But all saw the monster as it walked brazenly across the streets and all saw it for what it was. A TRILAT terrorist, the same they showed on the IR holonets. He was targeted within 7.5 seconds of arriving on Earth. Struck within 30 minutes, just as he tracked down Mortis Leonin, finding the racist and zealot meeting with a squad of neo-nazis and planning an attack on a nearby Resistance cell that employs alien operatives.
Before TB could attack he nearly lost all power from the EMPs, and was dragged to safety by a nearby agent working for the Resistance. With a little gray at her temples, Maxine Mayhew was a former time shredder but still put work in for the Resistance in the future Earth under IR rule.
Currently in the Bones of the City, the pair returned to her nearby apartment overlooking the courtyard the meeting place was going to take place.

Rewards:eek:

Nameless Finality (Unit 817) gains location of The Redeemer’s Ziggurat. Discovering the location and shadow jump coordinates to the Redeemer’s final resting place had been beyond challenging, but it was a success. He discovered that the Redeemer had been trapped aboard a K’ias Ziggurat and it had been flung into the darkest depths of space. Now he just needs offworld transport to arrive there.

The Apprentice (of Ryuk) would gain Goodwill of the Pirates of Jak’hal. He would gain a crystal that if shattered would result in the pirates saving him from even the most dire of circumstances. The pirates may not fight for him, they may not even defend him in an overt way, but they promised an extraction from spacetime if things got too crazy. (even works in alternate timelines)

Jorvin Dulk (Aryay) gains Ryuk owes me Big Time. Because he helped Ryuk’s apprentice succeeed and gain a reward, he may request 1 Personal Favor from Ryuk. This personal favor may be anything and Ryuk must follow through with it (Narrator Discretion)

Childeen Blackheart gains A finger from each family member. Watching his family die a second time, this time witnessing it (because Time Shredding is never exact enough to arrive at a certain moment), caused Childeen unmentionable heartache (Em.C. and Will counts as a -1 anytime his family is in danger) but he succeeded in getting a finger from each, before they were burned to ash. He can choose to convert the dead back to life in any thread he creates. He must describe and name each family member at that time.

Captain Axis gains Location of Mortis Leonin, and TB Gets the Girl. The technobroken has been taken in by a sexy older lady named Maxine Mayhew. TB is currently badly wounded by IR Spy Satellites EMP Missiles he knows Mortis Leonin is in a nearby apartment complex with a crew of about 30 Neo-nazis. He had a perfect base of planning an assault on Leonin’s position, but he knew he had to hide his presence from the IR spy satellites. .

Hekericki (Godart) gains A Trip to Maverick with all TEA Agents who want to go.

Khalid Phoenixkiller gains A Trip to the Border Wars to meet with General Vulfrym with all TEA Agents who want to go.

All characters who posted to this mission who ends up in a new timeline may learn 1 new Profession at 4.

All characters who end up in their own timeline (Orgog’ol, Nameless Finality, TB, Ryuk’s Apprentice, Hekeriki, Khalid) may select one psychic training of 10 point cost or below and may learn it.

#6

SILAS gains, I never Got what I paid for.
He gains access to EARTH 6000, and may select 1 Psychic training worth 10pts or less and 1 Special Training worth 5 pts of less.
