Goblin Lands Scouting Mission Week 11: The Giants of the Dargor Lowlands

#1

The deep desert is a place of beauty. In the days since the battle against Naveed’s Unit 111 Army, many tribes had sent scouts into the desert trying to make sure the dead stay dead.

Unluckily the Uthvelor serving Mind Spike Dyrisha Nial have been preparing a wild horde of giants that were supposed to arrive days before.
In Dyrisha’s original plan, Naveed’s army struck jamesville from the south, after the site had been attacked by both the Rehsedians and the Giants. The Rehsedians never came, and the Giants went nuts on their handlers.
A pile of giant dung later and there were no more Uthvelor handlers and the Giants were running amok on the dunes.

They wandered south and now have come upon your scouts.

Challenge:
Taking down or scaring off Five Yyan Li and ten Yyan Li youths. They eat Olgogs just so you know.

Inquisitor Sanches hated the desert lands, it was hot and the sand got everywhere. It didn’t help that he was assigned four whiny kids that were suppose to be Squires. At least Paladins didn’t whine so much.

Also giants, he was suppose to figure out how to take down over a dozen giants with four miserable excuse for Squires. Well, he certainly wasn’t going to rush at them with this group of incompetents. He was sure that the Goblins would try something to get rid of the Giants. He would wait and see what they had planned. If they started killing the Giants, he would wait and see if any got past them to endanger any Church holdings, he can ambush the Giants then. If they managed to drive off the Giants then he might decide to ambush the Goblins. Who knows? As for while they wait, he and his “squad” would wait at a small watering hole and he would maintain a facade of empty desert to keep others away while they observed and planned.

#3

Dolyi had just got back from the mission battling the Huge nightmare beast. He Learned ways of striking these giant beasts in ways that penetrated their tough hides. He was to use that here if needed. They had given Kol a comm crystal. So they would not attack too early.

Tatics
Dolyi, kept the fighter out of sight, but within quick response range.

Rhugal would send out chimeras or lesser growlings, depending on terrain, to search the area around, making sure that the giants didn’t get away. These would also search for any enemy dead or others that might attack them or their allies.

If a giant leaves the pack, Rhugal, would report its position to Kol. If Kol could not intercept to try and bring it to his side. Dolyi would intercept it and would eliminate it with a Laser strike from the Lur Union Fighter. If Kol could get there in time, Dolyi would give him a chance to calm and bring the Giant to their side. If this did not work, Dolyi would work to eliminate the giant using strafing runs, or scare it in the proper direction.

With the bigger group, they would give Kol a chance, but if this turned into a battle or Kol failed. Dolyi would launch the Fireballs into the groups of Giants. Rhugal, while in the Fighter, would summon a Chimera for combat and have it use it breath weapons to add further ligths, noise and damage. Herding them and killing them both worked. Their goal was to either drive the giants back to their lands and out of Olgog lands, or destroy the giants. The giants reactions determined which it would be.

This should either convince the GIants to go home, or the strikes would become more deadly as Dolyi would switch to the Lasers and aim to kill, no more warnings.

Retreat
If it came to a retreat for the Olgogs, the fighter would be used to extract them. And Rhugal would fly away on a Chimera.

Special note for Church of One Forces: If Spotted, they will be considered hostile and not an ally. They would not be targeted first, but any aggressive move toward any Olgogs, would be met with extreme all out force. Since their betrayal at Jamesville, they rank only slightly better than attack on sight. (Lalder would not be happy, but he’s captive somewheres else.)

Equipment:
Nightmare hide Artficed with Stone Skin/chill Shield, Artifice Forked Krato spear with Shieldbreak, Chill boltand Lightning spear studs, fireball Guantlet, 4 healing potions, 4 rez potions And Tribal shields. Camo Cloak (Obscure, Wilderness Camo, Comfortable Aura)

Dolyi ((Tribesmen: FS:4) LR:2, Shadow:2, Air:1, Water:2, General:1) Adj (Pilot Hover +5, Giantkiller Striker Fighter Pilots (No AR vs Giants))

#4

Kulal would stalk the giant tribe. He no longer looked like an olgog. Instead he was a mottled collection of bone spurs and greenish brown fur. His head a boney mix of olgog, kolgul features, and razor sharp fangs. he no longer feared daylight thanks to the djinni blood artifact, and his hide was nearly impenetrable. He would wait for the giants to bed down for the night then slip in using the shadows. He would slit a sleeping giants throat and drink its blood using his impressive strength to hold the giant down. He would raise the giant as a vampire and repeat the process letting the newest conscript of the Militia feast on another giant and so forth until he turned the war band.

Vampiric giants were something so fearsome none even dared dream it. The war band would turn back to the lowlands. Kulal would lead the band to raise an army of vampire giants to conquer the region and plant the militias flag there.

Vampyrs armed with: metal swords; slingshots with chill monster bolts; chill bolt pistols; piercings of: animal sight, bird sight, cobra strike, shadow armor (20 AR vs light), cobra strike, cat like reflexes; chill shielded armor.
3x council of advisors armed with: bracelets of firedart II (used to sling dead wood gambit style), metal swords; slingshots with chill monster bolts; chill bolt pistols; piercings of: animal sight, bird sight, cobra strike, shadow armor (20 AR vs light), cobra strike, cat like reflexes; chill shielded armor, shadowed visage cloaks.

15x vampyrs readied themselves to face the giants. They were led by 3 members of the council of advisers. They would keep away from the giants harassing them with chill monster shots to hopefully get them to give up on the assault. If the giants refused to break off the vampyrs would wait to see if the other factions could subdue them without killing them.

If that failed the vampyrs would try to lure the giants into a trap using half of them as bait to lure the giants into the the trap shell of 7756. once the giants triggered the trap shell the vampyrs would create nightmares near the giants to keep them occupied and rain chill bolt, vampyric bolts, and chill monster bolts to bring them down.

#5

Ur’Mak Fol’Tug and adolencent Yago’mato would join with the other Olgogs in their long hide robes. They will bring meat “blessed” by the Pit as a gift to the Giants, they will try to speak with them if they can.

“Yyan! You slave no longer! You free! But all want use or kill! We of Tor’Lallur offer power of Pit! Eat of Blessed Meat and take Pit within you! We teach to grow from that which kill others! We accept you as Tor’Lallur! Keep safe! Join holy mission to spread Pit! All Equal within Pit! Strong grow stronger!”

If that fails, Tor’Lallur summon diseased Kuo’lo to distract Giants while they retreat to safe distance. If we cannot recruit the giants we can plague them.

#6

Watching the various interactions with the Giants Inquisitor Sanchos shook his head. The ways of Goblins and giants made no sense to him. The plan would remain the same, ambush anyone continuing south after whatever happens here. The Squires would charge forward being good little cannon fodder, while he snuck around the other side, bringing up a facade to hide him. He would use a life shield to protect him while chucking grenades and laying down suppressive fire with his assault rifle. Once the Squires were dead, he would withdraw before the Goblins or whatever could chase him down.

#7

Yyan Kol and “Houk” Kliej strode through the desert towards the roaming giants. Kliej at his full size carrying as much extra foods as they could scrounge up in the short time. Kliej had made a quick Teleportation back to the keep to pick up as much as possible. As the dou approached the area Yyan Kol activated Skin-like-steel just in case. When within sight of the giants Kliej will call out to gain their attention. Leaving the food in a heap they both will stand back and see how the giants respond. If they ignore the food and approach them aggressively instead Yyan Kol will shout that the food is a gift. and that they should enjoy it, and when they are done he and Kliej would like to speak with them. if they continue to approach Kliej will ready his Ufur stick and defend himself. Yyan kol will attempt to dodge using fire leap till he can use widerness camo to conceal himself. if it seems kliej will be overwhelmed he will use wall of flame and stone pillar to limit accessibility to him. will retreat only if killing them seems the only way to stop them calling on Rhagul in the Lur union fighter for cover.

Yyan Kol (L.R. 4 Earth 4, Fire 4, General 2) 6 auto success.
Kliej (F.S. 10 2atks, str 12, Ufur stick 20 Pain dmg)

The balgog that had been sent would act as a bodyguard to those who here. It would use its bulk in order to physically stop an attack, but would not provoke the giants in any way. It would also not use lethal force unless it became evident that diplomacy was not an option. It would at first stay well behind the allied forces in order to not be spotted right off the bat.
