Goblin Lands Intermission Heroic Mission: The Second Trial of OtO. Loyalty

Mag Buskt snarled at the smaller Olgog. How dare the Djinni meddle with his people? He fumed.
To tie the fates of Gultor’UF and Auf Lal’al with a cursed object was the height of offense and yet Mag Buskt could say little to the Chieftains of either tribe.

He had only returned to life a few months before and few trusted him so he held his council. When he heard that Rapi’og of GultorUf and Lalder were meeting in the desert between Karov and Tlalocal he knew the enemies of all tribes would try and use the opportunity to further turn the tribes on each other and he worried.

The corrupting of Protodoxa showes him even the greatest heroes and most well meaning of leaders could be turned to aid the Warmomger. Mag Buskt would not allow this situation to spiral out of control.

He visited his Champion the infamous OtO and gave him a great and epic task. OtO had to keep both Rapi’og AND Lalder safe and prevent the crystal in their possession from being shattered.

It was dangerous but it would prove OtOs loyalty. To aid his champion, Mag Buskt send messengers to the most well known Mercs of Der’al promising a payment in bars of finest silver in payment for their support.

The threats included the terrian, rogue Nightmare attacks, and attacks by Mercs seeking the Djinnis favor by shattering the crystal. If the crystal does shatter an army of twisted and evil copies of many tribes of Der’al would be released to cause havok.

Mag Buskt sent the tiny Olgog, named Bulog Arog to watch all that occurred, but still it did not settle his mind.

Do you aid OtO in protecting the Crystal?
Or do you attempt to target Lalder and Rapi’og when they make the transfer?

Please describe your defensive or offensive plan.

use only 1character fot this mission (either standard tribal or juvenile if an Olgog tribe character, if a merc than the merc alone no backups)

Lalon thought he was doing pretty well in his training to be an Tor’og. He has learned most Leyas most Tor’ogs know and then some. He needed to learn shapeshifting next. So far his Elder, Tor’ab, hasn’t had the time to spend the weeks needed to learn the basics.

For his current mission, he was at the meeting point where the hand off of the crystal was to occur. He had hidden his skimmer a bit away, covered by a wilderness camo cover.

Auf Lalder had given him the details of his plan. Where Lalder was going to show up to make the exchange, and to make sure Rapi’og left safely. Lalon was to eliminate anyone who attacks either Lalder or Rapi’og with extreme force. Since the trip to the Djinni, Lalder has been armored like none he’s seen before. Always prepped for battle. He thinks Lalder is taking every step he can to make sure the crystal doesn’t break. And thats why he was here.

The other elders would be missed if they were here. His goal was to make sure no one other than Lalder knew he was here and if anyone attacked, to help his elder.

Lalon made his way to the location and to a slight high point trying to stay as hidden as possible. There He hide using Wilderness Camo and a cloak drapped over him, blending him into the ground. He is also using Bird sight goggles to check out the area around. If it got dark, he would use his dark vision to see in the dark.

From this location, he would give Lalder cover as he approached the area and During the exchange. If someone attacks either gog doing the exchange Lalon would strike them down, using his training (Hidden Strike Cannon) and light leyas, he would hide his position and the shots made by his leyas cannon. If it was a nightmare attack, he would use his Phoenix strike pistol. Which ever did more damage quicker.

Lalon had located a few jump points he could use to escape or close the distance using shadow jump. This spots he also kept an eye on for an attack. It worked both ways.

If either Rapi’og or Lalder are injured, he will get to them and use his ring of Healing to cure their wounds. To his understanding it would not be good if either died. That may shatter the crystal.

Hopefully if all went well, he would stay in his hole and nothing would happen. But he doubted that. Things never go that smoothly.

Once he thought everything was clear, he took his commcrystal and signaled Lalder. At any sign of issues he would use this same comm crystal to alert Lalder.

Ethan flew under the clouds, carbine in hand ready and waiting. He looked below, making out the shapes of Olgogs below. He had received the message not long ago and upon hearing their desperation, or at least what he made of it, he decided to help them out with the difficult exchange. The silver didn’t hurt either of course, he would accept it gladly after keeping an eye on things from above.

If an attack commenced he would fly low and provide ranged suppression fire with his Artificed acid Carbine. If the numbers became to great or if flying became too much of a problem, he would land and pull out his Artificed Pistol for an approach while slinging his carbine onto his shoulder and pulling in his wings. Once close enough he would holster his pistol and draw his Goliath slayer sword and use wall of Pikes (Earth Leyas lvl 3) to keep the enemy back while slicing any who get through to bits and pieces or just crushing them. If he begins to get overwhelmed he will take to the air and sheath his blade to once again begin firing upon the enemy with his carbine.

He flew through a small cloud, brushing mist off the lens of his goggles as he exited said cloud. He shook his head, clearing the already memorized plan from his mind for the moment to keep watch below. The two Olgogs were still below him and he smirked. He could already feel the silver in his hands.

Lorne Harlas rode hard out of Unen for the meeting place of Lalder and Rapi’og. His heavy plate mail clanked loudly as he rode, the sun shone off his polished full helm, even as the wind lifted his crimson cape high into the air as if to display the smith’s fine work. It was hard to believe the man was a professional assassin and shadowmancer, adept at sneaking about as well as other various bits of skullduggery. He smiled to himself, quite pleased at how this might turn out. Only a week previous, he had received word from one of his minions, aptly named Menion, that there was a reward out for protecting the safe transfer of some dangerous crystal. Money was all well and good, but Lorne often looked at the big picture. This crystal had to be pretty valuable for a declared payment of silver bars. He wondered how much they would pay to get it back before something adverse were to happen to it. This was the essence of his plan; to take the crystal and ransom it before it released its evils. Although it sounded like a fool’s errand, he did have a basic strategy for how he would do it.

He would arrive early, before the meeting took place. He would have a Shadow Shroud (shadow lvl 2) on himself before arriving, in case anybody would recognize him. He would introduce himself as a mercenary out of Chooru who had answered the call for ghaz, all the while working his way closer to the bearer or receiver of the crystal, depending on who arrived first. He would then bide his time, waiting until any attacks commenced, and then, in the confusion, he would strike. He would first send out a Death Blast from his artificed blade in the general direction of the crystal holder, and would seize the crystal. Hopefully the receiver of the attack had no sort of immunity to this sort of thing, but in that instance, a good knock in the head with the flat of his sword should accomplish the same thing.

His plan then varied depending on the time of day. If there was not enough darkness for him to hide in or shadow walk to, he would make certain he was mounted on his horse before performing his attack. If there was sufficient shadows for shadow leyas to work well, he would shadow walk away, relying on his own stealth and as well as Hide in Shadows (shadow lvl 1) to avoid attack. In either case, upon fleeing the scene he would put up Walls of Shadows (shadow lvl 4) between himself and the defenders to hassle them as long as possible. He would hide in a place he knew most could not survive in, the irradiated wastes surrounding one Lord Mada’s Estate. He’d use his ring of sustain life to keep himself alive during this time.

If escape is successful, he will not waste time with the ransom, having given Menion a previously written document detailing his demands to Lalder and Rapi’og. He wanted only two things, a Lur Union skimmer, as well as a goodly amount of ghaz.

Relevant equipment and stats:

-Platemail and Full helm

-Hand and a Half sword artificed with (fire working 4 suc) and (death blast 2 suc)

-Ring of sustain life (sustain life at 15 successes, but creates nightmares near children)

-Shadow leyas lvl 4

Derlur received the message from the Mag Buskt. He didn’t like the Djinni, they couldn’t be trusted. Father would want him to be on the lookout, so he left his friends in Brez and journied to where the exchange was to be. He knew nightmares would be a problem, but he had the use of Ur’Sa’Or to protect him (Halo if/when needed, plus his solar blades). The biggest issue would be other mercs. Granted, he knew he could stop most of them in their tracks using Levitate, but if there were many, it would be a problem.

Thankfully, he had lots of use for Ur’Sa’Or. So he would “bump” into, whoever’s turn it was to hold the crystal, and appear to hold the crystal. He would then whisper for that person to make their way out while he acted as a distraction. He would draw troops, let both escape, and then either fight his way out or make the crystal obviously disappear.

Fighting tactics: against shadow - halo and solar blade, against other beings, levitate to a high altitude, drop. If anyone dare appear with a technological weapon, draw it himself (using levitate) and unleash on his foes (no skill with the weapon, but does not have backfire. Never directs fire anywhere near the crystal).

What he says to Lalder and Rapi’og. “'Ello! I be here to help ye defend from eeevel folk.” (not much else to say).

Shirley was feeling even more dour than normal. She wanted to kill something. When she heard that Lalder and Rapi’og were doing an exchange, she smirked. She wanted to see Lalder. The little guy was cute. She sent a messenger to Urog about it. The messenger looked terrified, knowing full well that Urog would be furious. Shirley didn’t care. She’ll let him take it out on her later.

She jumped on a Stalker and rode to the meeting place. She regretted not bringing anything with healing, or a weapon that she can use while mounted, but she wasn’t thinking straight when she left Brez. Oh well, Shirley thought, more blood to spill with my bare hands.

When she saw Lalder, she’d run over to him and give him a massive bear hug. “I missed ya li’l guy!” She, as always, would ignore the fact that she was only a little bit taller than him. She would then respectfully greet Rapi’og with a firm handshake. “So le’s get dis party started! I’m hungry, if ya know what I mean?!?!” She guffaws really loudly and put her face uncomfortably close to each olgog’s face as she elbows each in the ribs and exaggerates a wink.

She would acknowledge anyone else that she knows (GNA, UTD, Dalon, Derlur).

Step 1 - Catlike reflexes.
Step 2 - Against charging nightmares, use Halo (if not already being done by another member present
Step 3 - Perimeter Support. Riding on her stalker, she would hurl fireballs at oncoming attackers. If needed, she would charge on the stalker, thin out any crowd coming towards the group.
Step 4 - If the group were to appear overwhelmed, she would give her stalker to Lalder and Rapi’og, and would fight all and any oncomers, hand to hand.
Step 5 - If an enemy proved too great to take down, use a Binding Needle, wait for the others to escape, then release the binding after she regained her strength and could either take on the foe or let it go. (not sure of the mechanic of letting a binding go… if she can do it from far away, then she would wait until just about the next day, giving all parties at least 20 hours head start).

Alchemy: Based on the biggest threat: Loktlaya root (did I misspell my own item?) for use of ka’or. Urya for generic leyas usage.

Current Stats Shirley - F - Adept, LR4, Fire 3, SS 3, Air 1, Earth 3, gen lvl 2, light 3, +2 Temper
Inventory:
Sylvan Khazgha fist wrappings: 3d8 (Half A.R.) Melee dmg (add strength bonus), Bludgeon, Can wound all creatures including those normally immune to Melee dmg. Any damage done in this way will heal the User for H.P. Not a Leyas artifact, a living alien wood symbiote. Hand to Hand. Does not look like a weapon, looks like thin leaves used to wrap the hands.
Amorfiend Vest
Comm Crystal - in case they need a lift she can call for the censor-craft
1 Binding Needle, just in case

(Leaving town soon, so posting. Not meaning to close thread until normal time.

Lalon Felt better when he saw Shirely approaching. She was one tough gog. He warned Lalder over the comm crystal of each approaching friend or Foe. Making sure to keep his voice as soft as possible.

He knew Lalder could teleport out if he needed, but it was the other gog who was in trouble. Especially once he was holding the crystal. Lalon was still not sure what would happen if the one holding the crystal died.

When the shadowed Assassin attacked, Lalon, if Shirely doesn’t, would shadow jump to the area, and shed light to cancel all the shadow effects while using his Phoenix strike pistol to shoot the attacker. Hoping his sudden appearance and light would disorient the attacker for the Lalder and Rapi’og to defend themselves or escape. He would only keep up the shed light for a moment, as the shed light made himself a target as well. And his training had been to stay out of sight. Then he will use his sword that was cut by Daemonsbane (No AR DMg) to strike attackers in vital spots and from behind if possible.

If He does not need to make an appearance to cancel the shadow leyas, he will use his Magi cannon to snipe the attackers until the combat becomes too close for it to work. Then he will come into the combat protecting Lalder’s back and/or flank. Striking any attackers from a side or back with his special sword.

He still hadn’t artificed the sword mainly because he couldn’t decide what to put on it.

(Of note, Lalder is also skilled in Light Leyas to cancel Shadow leyas as well.)

Og Or’gog of the Venerable Tribe of Yagogi’al the Og’ab and honorably apprenticing with Mag Buskt’s champion, the infamous Olgog the Olgog ventured back to his tribal lands to inform the elders what was currently happening. OtO had spent a significant amount of time with the young apprentice, so when he said he would meet OtO in route, his words could be trusted. Og Or’gog was given a Yagogi Olgogolem armor, and with this prize he would make haste by SHADOW WALKING to meet back up with OtO.

Taking the Olgogolem Armor out for his initial test, the juvenile is nearly as big as OtO, and will follow his lead. He will make sure to present himself, to make sure that OtO knows that his apprentice has returned. He will use the armor’s stealth abilities, and scout of the terrain ahead, checking for enemies/ambushes using LEYAS SIGHT. He will return to OtO’s side, presenting any new information. Readying for battle, he will be singing a battle hymn, casting WAR SONG and helping out all allies. Using the armor presented by his tribe, Og Or’gog will use the Golem 's THROW GLOP ability, turning any that look to cause trouble easy targets for OtO. For nightmare forces, Og Or’gog will glop them in place and cast CONSUME NIGHTMARE to strengthen himself while staying alert more other incoming attacks.

Upon getting word that Lalder may need a bit of aid, Dol herself decided to step up. He had helped her on the Isle when he had no reason to, and she hated owing debts.

Upon arrival to the meeting place, completely obscured with the mist of the sea so no one could identify her on the way or know what was really coming and attack she covered the entire party on Lalder’s side of the exchange.
“I thought you might need some help so you weren’t so much of a sitting duck Lalder. So when is this exchange to begin?”

Dol is a pirate who abhors owing anyone anything, the quicker she can repay debts she believes that she owes, the better. She is quite useful for fighting or leyas combat. If an attack was to happen, her first reply if it is seen coming is to put up a wall of air to make more time for others to prepare, she will already have her sword drawn feeling a touch vulnerable without her ship to back her, hence the cloud cover upon entrance. She is always ready for a battle and expecting the worst case scenario.
