Goblin Lands Heroic Mission Week 11: Into Jamesville after Dyrisha Nial

#1

In the town of Jamesville, the water was poisoned by radiation. And in the mayor’s manorhouse was a mad Mind Spike who had enslaved Inquisitor Von Gimmel and the rest of the town’s leadership. Now they turned a blind eye as the Warsouls began gathering sacrifices from the peasants of Jamesville.

The entire town, through skillful mindspiking has a true blind spot to the Uthvelor and her retinue.

In the manor, she waited with the powerful Totemic Auf Tor, also mind spiked to her will.

Soon they would attempt to jumpstart the ritual and Dyrisha Nial would be granted the status of Greater Fiend of Warmonger for serving the ancient evil so well.

And Auf Tor, once beloved by the faithful among the Olgogs, would become a foul Avatar of the Warmonger.

Your 2 posts must

Lorne Harlas stepped to the edge of the rise, looking at the great stone walls of Jamesville. He had a target to kill, and he had his wages, now there was just the means that would accomplish the result. He studied the city as an invading warlord would before a siege. He took into account the traps, the solid walls, the guards still patrolling as if there was not an Uthvelor inside the walls. How ironic that the defenders were now defending that which they had sworn to keep humanity safe from. All in all it would not be a walk in the park, but once Black Lorne had been paid, he would carry out his contract to the last, unless someone bid higher of course.

He waited patiently, allowing the shadows of high noon to creep across the town. The day grew long, probably about 5 or 6 o’clock. He smiled, adjusting his cloak around him, and then proceeded down slowly to the traps using hide shadows to cover his form (shadow lvl 1). Once he reached a decent sized shadow, he would bypass the wall using shadow walk (shadow lvl 3). He would proceed through the alleys and shaded parts of town until he found a guard, or any living human (the person’s allegiance was irrelevant to him) . He would sneak up quietly, (he has a sneak of 5, if that makes a difference) and grab them from behind, using a small hemp rope to strangle them. Then he would shadow walk while holding the corpse, and throw them into one of the traps, springing it and hopefully disabling it for the next person who came through.

Now that the way was a bit easier for reinforcements to arrive, he would proceed through the darkening town with the same techniques as before, avoiding large groups of enemies, especially the warsouls. Once he had reached the manor where he had been informed his target was, he would shadow walk into the manor, proceeding to locate Dyrisha Nial and then hiding in shadows. When it occurred that a less stealthy ally than he attacked the city, he would wait for the chaos to begin. When most of the guards had (hopefully) departed to reinforce the main force, he would leap from the shadows, aiming a heavy strike at Dyrisha’s head. In his experience it was the cleanest method of execution, and one of the most sure ways. If she was not killed, or caught him in the attempt, he would fight evasively, jumping from shadows to strike at her, while firing death blasts from his sword when he could. He would try to avoid combat with Auf Tor entirely, as he knew that foe was beyond him. If he was victorious, he would grab Dyrisha’s remains and begin shadow walking until he had reached a safe distance from Jamesville, and would then return to his employer with head and body in tow. (He has artificed a bag with shadow cocoon (shadow lvl 4) to make this easier)

Equipment and relative skills:

-Lorne Harlas

AR: Platemail and Full helm, with a heavy cloak to aid in hiding

  • Hand and a half sword, artificed with fire working at 4 successes and death blast at 2 successes.
    -Rope
-Shadowskin bag artificed with Shadow cocoon

Shadow leyas at level 4

Sneak at level 5

Burglary at level 5 (To help with disarming traps or getting through doors in the manor)

Rogarth lifted the simple spyglass and through it spotted for Dyrisha and the Warsouls. Once they were found, the assassin would use the shadows being cast by the nearest building to reach them (taking any allies who followed behind). He would use his spear to disable anyone who got between him and the Auf Tor. He would try and wrestle the Auf Tor’s spear away.

Once he had it or was killed, he would go monster form and consume the Warsouls if he could.

Rogarth felt the energy coursing through him, knowing the monster would be freed in moments. He focused only on one thought.
“Feed on the Demons,” roared the blue-skinned and heavily armored Daemonsbane monster as the transformation ended, “I can smell you, servants of Warmonger. And I am hungry.”

#4

Daron, dressed in his Dark nightmare hide trenchcoat. He keeps his Lifeshield (Item), and ignore poison active at all times. Now that it was dark, he looked out over the dying city. He heard of the radiation in the area, so he made sure to only drink from his waterskin. He knew he needed to do something of worth, and when he heard about the trouble in Jamesville, it gave him his chance to help out and get noticed. And with any luck, he can kill those warmongers dead.

He shifted his eyes (bird sight) to get a closer look at the walls of the city. He then counts the numbers of guards and the paces they take. Making sure to keep track of the timing of the patrols. (Using Military Tactices). He looks for the way in.

When he sees his opportunity, He will switch from bird sight to Animal sight and fly over the wall quickly, then landing in a hiding spot using his trench coat to hide his presence. Using his improved sight, hearing, and smell, he will make his way around the city avoiding the earther patrols. Making his way to the manor.

He would use his strength and his shock stick to check for the pit traps. (Not hiting, but pushing, to limit any noise.) If he finds a pit trap, he would make the trap more obvious, so others coming by would not fall in. If he falls in, he will catch himself using his claws on the walls and his wings to slow any fall. He would use acid breath to destroy any spikes below him before he lands on them. Then he will either claw or jump his way out.

Next, when he comes across the poison trap, he would most likely trip it since he is using ignore poison. Then he will heal the poison. Once he notices the trap, he will break it, using a vopal claw if needed.

If he comes across the Auf Tor, he will select his timing as a good soldier, and fire a acid breath on him. If he is struck with any damage back, he will using his earring to heal the damage, before he strikes again with his breath.

For the War souls, he will go all out attack, hopefully joining someone else. Launching fireballs (acid breath if multiple). Also using his claw attacks (light artifact) to strike if in too close. After a quick attack, he will launch himself over a few buildings into a different part of town to start the hunt again.

Eventually, he would make his way to the manor, hoping from roof to roof, using his wings for short glides if he noone is in sight. Once at the manor, he will find a 2nd story window to go through. Using his claws to open it. Shrinking his size if needed to get in, then going back to full form.

For the hunt of Dyrisha, he will use his sense of smell and hearing to track the room she is in. He will wait for his chance to pounce, using an acid breath to take her down quickly. Then follow up with his claws. She can always be raised if needed.

BASIC Tatics
Shield: Life shield (item), Warm Aura (Item), Wilderness Camo (Item), and ignore poison (Self).
If he can stay quiet, he will use his shock stick to clobber earthers and the like asleep. If there is no use hiding, or he is caught in a public fight, he would not hold back using firebreath on single foes, and Acid breath on multiples or foes immune to fire. Then he will follow up with his claws (Light artificed.)

Equipment:

Daron (Borvian Dragon, LR3, Healing 3, General 2, Shapeshifting 3) equiped with Razor Claw Guantlets (artificed with Ray of the Sun), Nightmare Hide Trenchcoat (artificed with Wilderness Camo), 2 Ear Rings (1st Life Shield/Obscure, 2nd Heal Internal 2 Succ), Warm aura necklace, Everlasting Waterskin and a shock stick (Pain dmg).

Lalon stood by Jamesville looking over the town. This was his next training mission on his training to become a Tor’og. Once he learned just a little bit more shadow leyas, and shapeshifting, he would know the leyas involved. But now he wanted to prove himself to his teacher, Tor’ab. He would go into Jamesville, find out what was there, take care of it if he could, or escape to tell his leaders.

Lalon concentrated and summoned a Lesser Growling to use as a mount. He put on his goggles and then climbed on and the Growling shadow jumped a few times to get over the walls and then into city. Between his cloak and the growlings natural camouflage they should be hard to see. If shadows didn’t work, he could use tunnel to create a hole in the wall he could go through.

He would make his way through the town, using his own hide in shadows to keep out of sight, and use his growling to shadow jump around. He would be looking for sniper positions, or any small groups he could take out quietly. He would try to avoid the soldiers of the town and their vehicles, but if foced into combat, he would stick a leyas sticky mine to the vehicle to disable it. Maybe laser to take out barrels, sights, or other windows on vehicles. For people, he would either use wave motion fist to knock out targets or use Laser to take down targets he had too. IF he needed to create distractions, he would use throw light in a different area from him, so he could escape.

For the pit trap, he would have growling walk in front of him, so it would trigger the pit trap. It should be able to shadow jump back to his side. He would use a laser to outline the pit trap for others.

For poison traps, He hoped his summon would trigger any trap or that his ice shield would keep the poison darts from actually striking him in the first place. He would use his ring to cure any poison from himself, or others would be allies.

For hot coals, he would create water over them to cool them off. And boiling oil, he would use change form to turn it to ice.

When he encounters a war soul, using his growling, they will shadow jump to the back of them, and Lalon will use Laser to strike at the back of its neck. If a chip is there, he should destroy it. And cause a great deal of damage to the dead. Maybe even take off its head. Then the growling would jump to move positions.

For Auf Tor, he was not sure and would try to avoid. If others were fighting it, he would summon a cerberus to hold Auf Tor down, though instructing not to damage, just hold down. He wasn’t sure what to do with it.

He would track and prevent Dyrisha from escaping, he will shadow jump with the growling and use his phoenix strike pistol take her down. Shooting and moving. From his lessons from the Auf, he will give mercy to Dyrisha and knock her out with the wave motion fist gloves first. But if its between her escaping or killing her, he will shoot a laser through her eye.

Equipment
Lalon ((Ur Tor) LR:4, Light: 3, Shadow:2, Air:1, Earth:1, Fire:2, Water:2, General:2, Summ:2)
Equipment: Armorfiend Hide Vest, Phoenix Strike Pistol, Ring of Healing (Cure Disease, Heal Internal Damage, Cure Poison (3 succ)), Ring of Tunneling, Camo Cloak (Wilderness Camo, Obscure), Artifice Forked Krato spear with Shieldbreak, Solar Essence and Lightning spear studs, 4 healing potions, 4 rez potions, Goggles of Night sight, and Wave motion fist gloves.
Shields: Chill Shield, Ice Shield.
Mount: Lesser Growling

Von Gimmel shook his head, he had been having an off and on again headache for the past few days. Ah, well, nothing crippling. Most likely stress, after all, with the radiation sickness throughout the town he had been running around keeping everyone in as good as shape as he could. At least the soldiers, the peasants were kept in as good enough shape so they could keep working, after all, besides healing Von Gimmel had been busy with the preparations. After they drove off the dead and the “invading goblins” he had been busy getting ready for the Goblin counter attack. Laying down shadow wards around the town, in the alleys and on the roof tops hadn’t been easy. He had fallen down several times, he had a bit of a limp now, but it would be better in a few days.

He had ordered his men to keep vigilant patrols and to clutch their crosses when they felt the sickness sapping too much of their strength. It was a constant back and forth and the men’s moral was low. Even snatching a Goblin here and there and publicly crucifying them was only just barely working.

The weird thing is that he kept on finding odd things. He would find doors open that he was sure he closed, also random foot prints that led to nothing. He had a few of the Squires lashed for negligence but people were getting spooked, it was as if there was someone around that he just couldn’t find. Ah, well, maybe just his imagination, after all he was over worked and over stressed.

He ordered a dozen Paladins and Squires to patrol around the outside of the town, the remaining forty Paladins and fifty Squires remained inside to keep a tight watch, whistles were given to group leaders to signal if trouble was found.

Thankfully he had a few people who weren’t sick, with the loss of Simonsburg, Drewsport, and the destruction of several smaller villages in the south they had gotten a few dozen refugees, thankfully some after the sickness occurred and were able to keep some of them healthy. A few clerics had come along, they were assigned to patrols and used their “God given powers” to keep balls of light to eliminate any nearby shadows. They would be near useless in a fight, but they might prevent enemies from sneaking up on the patrol groups within town.

At least they had some real firepower in town, their three remaining Steam Tanks were fully armed and operational as well as their Antaries anti air Strider. The Artillery striders were also operational and were ready to pound approaching enemies.

Things seemed secure, but he had a nagging feeling that he was missing something. Something he couldn’t put his finger on…damn the door to his office was open again, who was opening the damn doors?

Yohai followed the Cambion known as Rogarth from the lands of the tribe of Reshed. They were tired, but they had an urgent mission. Most importantly, they had to invade an Earther town under the influence of a mighty MindSpike. Yohai turned to Moli, “Well, I hope you will be joining us. If you can sneak us in, now would be a good time. Otherwise, we go with the cambion.”

If Moli can sneak them in somehow, they’d go together. (Skip straight to calling for back-up and taking out Dyrisha first).

Otherwise: He would follow Rogarth, allowing him to handle the demons. He had a betrayer of the Uthvelor to avenge. He had Dosojin, his trusted no’dachi blade, and the will of Azreal to back him up. He sent a message to Zaodonai Uth, via Fallen Commander, about the betrayal of Dyrisha Nial and her attempts to subject the Olgogs to the will of Warmonger. He had the comm crystal given to him by Lord Azrael, and was ready to use it when the time came. There would be no escape today, no further injustice perpetuated against the natives. He had defeated the will of Warmonger before, and today would be no different.

Using his own Leyas sight, he would survey the territory. If enountering technology, he would use his Grave Dust pistol to deactivate the weapon before destroying it with his weapon. If possible, he would merely shadow-walk around them as his purpose was singular. One-shot decapitations or literal disarming, whichever would be faster, for those in his way. He’d use his superior parrying skills and/or improved agility to parry or dodge incoming attacks. He’d want to bring up his Annihilation Shield and turn Dosojin into a void weapon, but doesn’t want to do so in front of Khered, if possible. Therefore, he would REALLY want to go different ways, and have Khered and Rogarth handle the Warsouls and Earther tech.

If having the possibility, use his first victim to enter the Stream Of Consciousness and learn of the whereabouts of any traps. If possible, summon Nightmares on or around the traps to “set them off”. If not, use Moli to relay the message via Fallen Commander to other heroes in the area about where the traps are.

Step 1) Call for back-up. He’d need to destroy the machines. He’d let Rogarth take on the Warsouls. Two swipes, two legs/supports down to prevent aiming. Then call for back-up by saying his name into the comm crystal.
Step 2) Make sure Rogarth isn’t overwhelmed. While he would like to avoid the warsouls, he doesn’t want to leave Rogarth alone. Yohai would ask Khered to help Rogarth while he looked for Dyrisha. If he had to, he’d spent a round or two to prevent them from overwhelming Rogarth’s back. Otherwise, have Dosojin take one of them out and hope Dosojin doesn’t consume his soul in the process.
Step 3) Auf Tor - Using his Uth Sword, parry the olgog’s attacks, giving Moli enough time to Mind Spike the Auf. How would Moli know this plan? Fallen Commander, of course! If Khered were available, he’d tell Khered to keep the Auf Tor busy long enough for Moli to do his work, allowing Yohai and his crew to go after Dyrisha.

As quickly as possible - Dyrisha:
“Dyrisha Nial, your stewardship of the Mind Spikes is forfeit. Your crime: serving Warmonger. The penalty is death. No longer will you corrupt the Uthvelor or the other speaking races.” Strategy: Straightforward - Parry, parry, slice off arm, parry parry, slice off other arm. Destroy her mindspike and all other mindspikes. Other distractions: Have the other Uth at my side take care of them. Coordinate using Fallen Commander. If possible, capture her and have her take to the Zaodonai Uth for judgment. Otherwise, feed her soul to Rogarth.

Handling the pesky Earthers: If they get in his way, they get disarmed. If they’re especially pesky, their heads. They could be healed after the battle and after Moli fixed their condition. If that task was too daunting, well, they were Church of One Eathers. No love would be lost between Yohai and these Earthers. After all, even Sira disliked them and Sira was fair to most living creatures. Besides, at least Lord Roan wasn’t here… he’d level the entire city out of principle. Speaking of Earthers… where was Shinefox and his teams of infiltrators?? Why wasn’t he sending the bearer of Daemonsbane here? He could use another good sword. As almost a final thought, he sent a quick message to Killion, first Knight of Morgoth, via Fallen Commander. “Party, Jamesville. Fighting Warmonger and the betrayer Dyrisha Nial of the Mindspikes. Bring cookies.” Cookies?? If he hadn’t known any better, he would have thought he just made a joke.

Mama Rapigog sent in the Dargor of KagTla to investigate the infiltration into Jamesville. He arrived and shadow walked past the feeble walls. Inside what he found bewildered him. An uthvelor walked through the streets as if no one could see her. Dargor kept to the shadows and roof tops maintaining obscure on himself to hide him in the leyas and using the silent feet and instinctual stealth that earned him his title before he joined the bruskti. When he saw the motley band that began to chased down the uthvelor he followed them. He intended to wait at one of the exits he watched the Uth use to slither out of her den in the manor. He would attack her there if the adventurers didn’t get her. Either way he would try to claim her head. Bring that back to Mama Rapigog so the Mag Bruskt could get some answers from the Uth.

Arms & Equipment: metal sword, chill bolt pistol, derayalor of the wanderer, face piercings of cobra strike, cat like reflexes, animal sight, bird sight, shadow armor, KaGor travelers fang.

#9

Kor’ya looked upon the Gor town, many Gor there and he only Tor’Lallur here. Shrugged and thought to himself. “What Dar’ab do? Oh, Kor’ya know!”

Kor’ya summons up a small group of Diseased Kuo’lo to fling their crap at the paladins and Squires on patrol, keeping their distance then retreating.

Kor’ya isn’t even going to try to get inside the town, just distracting the patrols then running away.

#10

Khered was conflicted, he didn’t want to leave the Reshedans and that spear, but these forces of Warmonger were a bigger threat at the moment. Ugh, he didn’t have time for this crap, who cares about a stupid earther town. Khered will fly above the town and create a ring of flame around it. The fire will close in on the town and begin to consume it from the outside in. That will prevent the ones inside from fleeing. He will target the Anti Air strider and melt it down (Melt Metal 2) To protect himself he shall create Burst Shield.

He will close the flame in on the town and burn everything to the ground. Maybe then they can get on to more important things. His companions were so easily distracted.

Captain Durandal felt like shit, again he found himself clutching at his cross and praying for relief and deliverance. He felt the shaking in his body stop and strength returning, however he knew that it was only temporary. He heard screams, and the whistles of the patrol leaders signaling that the enemy had infiltrated the town. Very well, gripping Ascendus in his hands he marched out, looking for the most powerful target to put down. Hopefully after that the Goblins will lose heart and withdraw. He would love to slaughter every demon loving one of them but with the town in such bad shape, getting them to withdraw would be the best strategy. As he left he felt himself bump into someone. in his weakened state he almost fell over, grasping at his cross he felt his strength return. Angrily he prepared to shout at whomever got in his way…but he found no one there. He could have sworn that there was someone…ah, doesn’t matter. As he gazed upon the growing battle inside the town he saw a giant blue demon rampaging around. There, that would be the leader of this demonic assault. He readied Ascendus, and prepared to strike down the demon in the name of God.

High in the sky, Lord Mada laughed as he circle above the city on his collared falsewyrm. From the ground, he probably just looked like a large bird. He had hoped for a bit more destruction by now, or at least some explosions, but the fire encircling the town would have to suffice. Deciding it was time to act, he stood up on the falsewyrm’s back and leaped over its head with the bottom excess of his robe trailing behind. The falsewyrm, continued forward right into the robe and disappeared within. Mada was in free fall, aiming for the roof of the manor. In doing this, he easily bypassed the wall and the traps that had been laid out. When he reached the appropriate height, he activated his raider mail’s Fire Leap to slow him self enough to land safely.
Upon landing, he folded up his excess rob and tied it back in place. He then held it open for his nightmare minions to waddle out, wielding their assault rifles. As the sixth penguin exited, they stood (looking rather amusing) at attention and waited for orders. “Cause some havoc among the Church of One’s forces. Ignore the civilians unless they cause trouble for you.” Mada ordered. The nightmares each gave a goofy Earther-style salute and waddled off to carry out their orders. Meanwhile, Lord Mada went along the edge of the roof until he found a window that he could climb into. Then, hoping that the room was empty, he slipped inside.

Once inside the manor, he’d use Hide in Shadows to avoid detection and look around, taking things that looked valuable or expensive at his leisure and adding them to his shadow cocoon. If discovered, (by an enemy) he’d use coughing cloud (to keep them from calling out) and attack with a barbed Kur’az, attempting to reel them in for a finishing blow while feeding off their fear in their final moments.

He’d keep looting rooms until he came across Dyrisha and/or Auf Tor. Lord Mada would watch them but avoid combat until there were others fighting also. If he gets an opening where they have already sustained wounds that are still open, and their back is to him, Lord Mada will reach into a secure nightmare hide pouch and carefully remove his handful of zela shards, then grab the enemy and quickly clap his hand over the open wound, holding on until the zela stays in. Once it’s set, he will use a firebomb on the wound and jump away, carefully dusting off his gloves to remove any zela that may have stuck. He will assist with the rest of the fight after that, using his remaining fire bombs from a distance, until it ends.
(OOC: This is what he will do in the case of either enemy. Lord Mada will not actively try to stop Dyrisha if she tries to escape, but will use any really convenient opportunities to attack if he gets them.)

After the fighting, he will find his way back to the roof, and fly out of the now flaming city on his falsewyrm. His nightmares will surely think of something. They always come back, after all.

(OOC: Lord Mada will feed regularly since Jamesville is irradiated and housing refugees, there’s bound to be plenty of fear. He is equipped with his Artificed Raider Mail (Become a Shadow, Shadow Walk, Lava Walk, Working Shadow, Fire Leap, Translate), and his Artificed Robe (Working Fire, Shadow Cocoon). The nightmare penguins are using their nightmare-sized assault rifles and do not have their power armor (to avoid unnecessary expenses).)

Lalon:
Lalon would grab what he could, something to show Tor’ab how far he made it. He would even settle for a paladin’s sword. Though he wanted something of the warmongers troops. A weapon, not a trophy piece from the bodies.

He thought to himself, “The @$@@ has hit the fan. He did not except the all out fights that were going on around him. But he was here to do a job as well. Take out any warmonger he could without dieing. But after today, Jamesville is no longer”

War Souls
Lalon would give the Blue monster much distance. If the monster was fighting the Warmongers, he would cover him with Laser leyas and his skull smasher pistol. Shooting the Dead who attack it, head and neck shots. He would avoid earthers, unless the were stopping the killing of the warmongers dead. If he kept that thing alive longer, maybe it could destroy all of the dead. But he also made sure he had enough distance so he wasn’t the next meal.

If the fire encroached on his position:
When the fire encircled the city, he knew he was out of his league here. He had a few options on how to get out. If possible, he would search out a tree, and have his growling them him through the tree to one outside the city. If one could not be found, he would then need to use his ring of Tunneling. He would create a tunnel large enough for him and the growling to go through, and tunnel his way out. Before he got too far down the tunnel, He picked up a rock and infused it with Halo Light Leyas (Temp artifact) and set it down in the tunnel. No shadow creature would follow his way out. If the fire followed him, he would use the ring of Tunneling to close the passage behind him. As long as he didn’t close it, others could use it.

Daron was tired from this long night. Skulking around. Trying to not damage the earthers too badly. Warmongers, a big blue monster, and now the city is going to be burnt to a cinder.
He thought “what an interesting way to start a merc career. ” (Insert Breath attack here)

Now that battle has just completely broken out, he didn’t worry to be so quiet. He would take out a warsoul or Auf Tor from a distance using his Breath weapons. If the ground got too crowded, he would flar his wings and leap to roofs of buildings. And attack from High. But not high enough to make himself a target of everyone.

Escape from Flames:
Daron looked at the flames with questions. He was not sure how well he was protected from that fire. Normal fire, and most weapons did little against him. But he hated to lose his coat and he didn’t know how hot those flames were. So when it came time for escape, he would reactivate his wings, and fly. Using the heat from the fires as lift to get over the fires. Any enemies left, he would do a strafing run on his way out. Then using his Strength and flying speed to get up and over the other side of the flames. And see what happens next.

Nameless Finality approached the town, he could see the ring of fire slowly approaching the town. Horrified that someone would feed so many innocents to the maw of Warmonger, he realized that he needed to do something drastic. Quickly, would shadow walk to the Strider and using his magi cannon disable the vehicle. He then will attempt to get as many of the town folk out as possible by placing a tunnel under the ring so that the townsfolk can escape. As the townsfolk leave, he will watch for any that are infected with nightmares or Demons. Nightmares will be dealt with by Consume Nightmare. if any of the war souls od the Uth attempt to escape thru the tunnel, he will shoot them down. After as many of the townsfolk can get out as possible he will enter the town to hunt the warsouls. The demons will not be allowed to leave the town.

NAmeless finality (standard trooper, Path of the redeemer 2, full trooper kit with magi cannon)
special eq:
Ravenous Kolgul Skull bracer of Unit 817 (artficed with tunnel materials at 4 successes)
Fang of Unit 817 Hunters (Artificed with catlike reflexes, animal senses, and cobra strike at 3 successes)
Medium Shield of Unit 817: Buckler (+2 A.R. Vs Melee, +2 A.R. Vs Energy. Protective Aura at 4 Successes)

Grim had been Shadow jumping and teleporting all over the place trying to catch up to the guys he ahd left in the dessert. Finally nearing the town they were in, he saw the wall of fire and the Strider melting and the ruins of many traps. walking calmly toward the town, he could see a stream of people running out of a tunnel near the strider. Taking a few running steps, he call on the darkness that dwelled deep in himself, and leapt cleanly over the wall of flames. He could feel the dampening of the power of shadows from all the Shadow wards scattered thru the town. ‘Well that shouldn’t be a problem if’ need be,’ he thought to himself. When he almost walked into a group of Oners, he pulled out his harmonica and play a creepy tune, scattering them in fear(Song of fear). With all the shadow wardings , he shouldn’t have to worry about nightmares and the town is being slowly burned to the ground so they should be taken care of anyway. Finally, catching up to Rogarth and the boys, he will keep them standing. If need be he will channel his darkness to strengthen his life and give it to his allies, keeping them up and moving. IF the Uth Mindspike trys to escape, he will stop her with his troubour skills. If she attempt to use leyas, he will shoot her with an AntiLeyas Dart (refined Annihilator Blood)

After the warsouls are eaten by Rogarth, Grim will gather the group and shatter the wards and then teleport out.
