The Isle of Mag Buskt had long been a pilgrimage site for the Bruskti Families. Each through blood or through ritual drew their origins back to the Tribe of Mag Buskt. The Mag Buskt were a tribe of ancient leadership, they ruled from the Isle of Mag Buskt west of Port Unen.
On the island is their ancient fortress, crafted by the K’iou of Lord Falos to thank the tribe for their great service to the Olgog peoples and the Children of the Falosini against the armies of the Yyan Gor and the armies of the K’ias. They lived so long ago that the only verifiable records of their existance can be found in the stone palace, grown from the island, shaped by Leyas to survive until the end of Refuge.
The Mag Buskt used dark arts learned from the Nightmare Lords against the K’ias and it changed them. Each generation only one child of the Mag Buskt Mag’Ols was set aside to learn the Falosini teachings of the Shattered Sun tribe, the rest were taught what would become the Bruskti traditions.
Each of the Shattered Sun Mag’Ols were sent inland to the lands now called Karov so they would rule in sunshine. Meanwhile the Mag Buskt continued their learning, preparing for the prophecied return of the MagMag Gor (the Greatest of Enemies). They would never see this battle. At the beginning of the Goblin Genocide the Church of One began attacks using nerve gas, and other chemical weapons against the Kingdom of Mag Buskt.
The Church stole the lands that would become Unen, and killed every Olgog they could find. Their nightly gas attacks on the Isle were the beginning. It was followed by a land invasion of one hundred Earther Paladins supported by Dunesphere EEF infantry squads armed with flamethrowers. It was early in the days of Colony of Dunesphere, and the EEF still sanctioned much of what they did.
The survivors of the attack on the island fled out to sea, never touching on land for more than an evening at a time. These survivors carried with them the powerful rituals of the Mag Buskt. However centuries out at sea, resorting to piracy resulted in mutinies and none of the original Mag Buskt tribals remained in the lands of Unen.
Many Mag’Ols of Karov share a blood line with the Mag Buskt. They were interbred with the Mag’Ols of the Kalokgogs of Auf Ka, the Lalgogs of Auf Maglal, the Kolgogs of Auf Kol, and the Hobgogs of Auf Tor. They were always raised in the old ways of Chieftainhood. They had to gather a tribe from the thousands of Olgogs that inhabited the lands now called Karov.
This taught compassion, teamwork and loyalty to both the Mag’Ol and his tribals. Then the purge moved south and the Church of One Paladins reached these lands (they dubbed Karov) months later.
The last true Chieftain Buskt of the Mag Buskt led a coalition of tribes in battle after battle against the Earthers. They lost so many that Buskt’s heart turned cold. He remembered many rituals from his youth, rituals played at by his elder brothers and sisters and denied him. In these rituals he sought a power to defeat the Earthers.
He drew more and more tribal Cheiftains into his coalition and soon traits of strength in battle and size became more important to tribal position. Those who offered little in battle against the Church of One were considered slaves under Cheiftian Buskt’s coalition. His nature was slowly being corrupted by the unrestrained power of the dark Bruskti Rituals without the balancing of their daily asetheticism and meditation required originally of the Inhabitants on the Isle of Mag Buskt.
The battles kept the Earthers back from the beautiful Oasises that dotted the region. Then Cheiftian Buskt demanded that the Gor’ab who had served equally among the Nomadic tribes come together under his direct control. What he viewed as a grand army of the Olgogs, it ended up as little more than a personal hit squad. The Gor’ab bristled under Cheiftain Buskts commands. They hunted criminals, they were neither regimented troops nor personal assasins. There was no spirituality in the butchery of the Earthers, just a meat grinder. Olgog and Earther died equally and no end to warfare in sight.
The Gor’ab knew this was feeding the MagMag Gor and must end. One Gor’ab known as Doctor Yitor approached the wisest gogs of the Tribes. He had traveled among both children of the Falosini and the Earthers of the Colony of New Vorik and knew not all Earthers were filled with hate of the Olgogs.
He spoke at length with the wisest gogs of the tribe and finally Orog came forth demanding that those wise but not of the Old Aufgog tradition should have a say in the deplorable and unwinnable war.
Orog knew like the ravenous Kolgul during the Der’na (Flamewinds) of Auf Ka, survival would come from hiding.
He challenged Chieftain Buskt for rule. Together they faced off in a story that all Olgogs of the lands of Karov know. Orog won, Buskt would not yeild when beaten and sacrificed his own children to gain the power to defeat Orog. The surrounding tribes were horrified and tore Buskt limb from limb.
The myth of Buskt and the Mag Buskt Tribe did not end there. The body parts were seeded across Karov. His head and chest was tossed into a deep pit wrapped in his Mak Hoblok tent. Then it was closed up and left unmarked. The mixture of blood and Mak Hoblok pelt drew a Mighty Yadol which gobbled up the head and chest whole inside the hides.
