DR2220+ Finale Mission 1: The New Years War of 2221

Boriel I’tash and Elijah Morte and their armies will meet in combat on New Years day. Arrayed on both sides are hundreds of airships, wargiants, artificed rocket racks, and magi cannons.

Elijah Morte’s plans and Boriel’s plans are unknown. They will meet in battle at the valley of corpses just south of the Ruins of Morgoth.

There is a hill in the center of the valley of corpses, and on that hill a single fort built by the Knights of the Bladed Sun.

The winning force has three ways to win this battlefield

Win Condition 1

Take and Hold the Hilltop Fort of the Knights of the Bladed Sun for a full week. This means you must have ways to rebuild the fort during the many bombardments and attacks it will suffer.

Win Condition 2

If either Elijah Morte or Boriel I’tash is captured during the battle.

Win Condition 3

If the Sylvan Empress is killed or captured the battle will end in failure to both sides.

Rules:

One post per player account. Each player may send in any force. BUT sending in forces without joining the planning session may result in friendly fire, and other bad effects.

This mission closes on December 22nd 2017.

Jemison Post
Lurtor will have the Forces of Jemison Post and Peacelord Grim’s Army from Boriel’s retreat equiped with Cold weather gear rations from Jemison Post. Rations will be sent in periodically to keep them fresh. Some Warm Aura Stones will be sent in to the trentches to give the Army a break from the cold and keep the troops fresh. This is all per the agreement with Boriel in the planning thread and the creation of the Kingdom of Jemison Post. Kandor of Lurtor’s triad will lead those forces, ensure they have the equipment needed, call for Lurtor if needed, and get directions from Slavemaster Malice and Lord Malaganth per Boriel’s direction.

Lurtor will tell the Soldiers “Protecting Boriel’s retreat will satisfy the agreement that keeps the Doomwyrms from attacking Jemison Post. For those with Families or loved ones at the post, this will keep your families safe. You are a defense force to protect the retreat only. At the top level, Kandor is in charge and will take direction from Slavemaster Malice and Lord Malaganth.

Lurry’s Field Trip:

Lurtor how best to help those at the fort without directly getting involved. This sounded like the perfect opportunity for the best of his rehabilitation program to show what they have learned.

(Note, while Students are there, Lurtor hid his true identity when talking to them so Boriel would not see Lurtor giving the order if he captured and dopplegangered one. Also, this is a defensive mission, to keep the EEF Happy.)

Lurtor had Remmie imitate Lurry for the moment as he spoke to the students. Disguised as one of the Instructors, Lurtor will tell them “You here have done well in your courses and now we have an opportunity for a Graduation test and to help keep people from from Slavery at the same time.

Right now the Northern Kingdoms are fighting over a hillside Fort and we wish for it not to fall. The New Itashi Alliance and Boriel’s Forces. This is much like any VLAD mission with the exception that we want the Fort standing at the end, and limited casualties to the Itashi Alliance forces, and Boriel not knowing about this mission. We need to protect fort and keep the Army attacking it back.

If you successfully defend the fort without causing the destruction to the friendly forces or the fort itself, you will Graduate and be free to do as you wish. Please report to Lurry if you need anything and to coordinate with any other specials there.

Running off to destroy the Enemy’s flag ship or otherwise will count as a negative. Stay on Missions.

Lurtor will replace Remmie as Lurry and setup a shadow portal to take the forces in. Lurry will relay with the EEF forces that he is bringing in Forces to protect the fort.

AT the Fort:
Lurry will be watching the students, and if they cause too much trouble, pulling them out. He will also give them suggestions when it looks like they are going off track. Knocking out those that cause trouble or about to AWOL.

Lurry and Remmie will keep the communication between the groups of EEF specials, Lalder, and Northern kingdoms if needed. Remmie representing the students, and Lurry as part of the specials.

For his part, Lurry, using his goggles, will send out eye spies to keep an eye (haha) on the enemy. Using this to form Walls of Ice, Fire, Stone in the way of any ground forces. Or to create a shadow portal and shot through. Though these actions would be for herding and covering flanks. Or taking down a tempest creating weather problems for Lalder.

Lalder:

Lalder wanted to make sure the Sylvan’s didn’t use the weaon of the living Sylvans. So Elijah Morte would need to be impressive.

Lurtor:
Lalder Approaches Lurry at the fort knowing who he is and says “Here is a crystal to communicate between you and my forces. keep Safe.”

Airborne defense

He could not match Boriel’s forces or go head to head, but surgical strikes and protecting the fort would help.

Lalder would transport 2 Carriers to support Elijah’s forces. The fighters and the Carriers would provide a tatical awareness of the battlefield using the Olgog radar. Additionally fighters, would take out any tempest from range that was causing a weather issue for these forces.

The carriers would be kept back and high to keep out of the main visual fire, using its leyas shields to protect. (Magi cannon refect, Protective Aura, Ice Shields, Reverse Metal, etc). If their firepower was needed, they could climb high and volley at the enemy forces, but this would be kept as a trump card.

For defense against Missles and Weather,
Auf Laylan with her Air leyas, would use Air leyas to create Wind alls to block volleys attacking the Carriers or fort. Additionally she would use Control weather to conter a tempest long enough for it to be blown away. Auf Laylan would be in a Carrier.

At the fort:
Lalder and some Apprentice Aufs would be incharge of defense rebuilds and healing fighters pulled off the battle field. Through Earth Leyas, wall of Stone, and reverse Metal, Lalder would keep reinforcing the protections.

Leyas Shield the fort?
If Possible, Lalder would setup a Leyas shield generator and with the Apprentice Auf’s activate it to protect the Fort. Using the shields like protecting a carrier.

Down below:
An apprentice Auf would continue to reinforce the Ground using tunnel materials and Columns to strength the ground and walls. Add more stone, merge it with the current walls. Additionally this should keep others from tunneling under the fort.

If Lalder Meets with the Empress:
Lalder would bow respectfully and say “Greetings Empress, it is an honor to see you again. As always I have the Greatest respect and honor for the Sylvan Empire and the help they have given myself and the Olgogs and I wish to return it by helping here.

Helping the side who has freed their slaves, many of those who were Olgogs and am against those who continues to enslave olgogs. I see the Itashi Alliance and Elijah Morte as the best chance to keep more Olgogs free.

Lalder knew the changes have put a strain on their relation, but Lalder did truly care for the one race who stood up for Olgogs while others let them be slaughtered.

Healing and resurrecting:
Those forces of Lalders that go out, have left something behind so they can be brought back if needed. Lalder will offer this to the Alliance as well. If the Alliances forces are down, Lalder will use Troubadour to raise all the dead allies he can (Songmanger).

Escape:
Lalder will teleport those needing to escape away to the Carriers, and then the Carriers away through a teleport stone previously artificed for the carriers.

A force from the Shield of the Redeemer arrived to aid Fort Lendil in the conflict. They are mainly there to aid the Ft Lendil forces and do their best to prevent escalation into other areas. They are lead by Lok’reshad.

They will follow the lead of the Ft Lendil forces as long as the actions are confined to the conflict zone and don’t attack non combatants.

The Death Darts would deploy 9 riding in pairs they would have batons with a silvery wire only a few molecules thick. They would ride fast on a flank of the war giant column. Driving on either side of the war giants legs the marauders dressed in self repairing armored space suits would try to trip or hopefully amputate the giants leg. The last one riding by to blast the cockpits with magi cannon fire and kill the pilots. They would exfil after the column was destroyed.

If a ruler whom opposes Fort Lendill emerges Fort Lendill will flood the Itashi markets with cheap food from off world in order to make it too expensive to farm and make the populace reliant on Fort Lendill for crops.

If a ruler wom is willing to work with Fort Lendill is chosen to lead Fort Lendill will ease food insecurity for a season to give them some breathing room to fix the ills of the kingdoms.

Typhoon squad would use the atmosphere only gun pods to act like a spear head to get their night hawk close enough to one of the smaller carriers to allow for a hot insertion. The team would all have zela studs in besides Bax who wielded the Bombast magi cannon they seized and used it in the tight spaces of the ship to clear a way to the bridge. They would try to capture the bridge and ram the carrier into a larger vessel. They would use the chaos to try and slip onto the larger ship and try to replicate hopefully causing enough damage and havoc to tie up the airship fleets resources as they try to batten down the hatches.

Elijah Main goal Is to take the fort And protect the Sylvan Queen , use his war Giants To take the brunt end of the force and Sort of act as a shield. While the slammers and the rest of his Forces follow behind Attacking with surprise from The confusion of the War giants, The war giant pilots have orders to Target the larger Threats and eject when the war giant is to Damaged , Once the fort is taken I plan to hold it with the aid of my Allies Do repairs with Earth Mansers and the help of lalder and Unit 817. The ice dragons will be on a delayed attack to spearhead a the armies with a surprise Attack from the side eIlija Will help protect the silven Queen In his war giants and also go where he is needed to Aid his forces and allies

While the other factions marched Wintermute remained quiet, apparently the Church of Shadows (which is the major religion among the undead in Wintermute) had huge holiday sales among all of the markets and everyone was shopping.

As the Grand Magi wanted to be the main force in this battle so officially Wintermute will declare that their leadership was taking the holiday to reflect upon the holy Shadow and it’s gifts to all of us.
A meeting was held as to what to do about the battle.

Jeren Holtar, Earther Vampire Council Member and Le’resh Swiftwind, a Kiorn Council member never liked each other, they were two members of the six member council that adviced Lord Hassan and had dramatically different views. Holtar thought little of the living and originally wanted Wintermute to join the Kasanthian Federation while Swindwind wanted to expand the influence of the living and was a firm supporter of the Itashi Alliance. They always argued during Council meetings but on this rare occasion they had a united goal. Meeting in secret they both shared a common goal of preventing the old Itashi regime from returning. They knew that neither of them had the power to deploy Wintermute’s army but the nobility each had their own private retinues that they could use at their discretion. So they called Lady Xantinus to the council hall and informed her that Wintermute was to remain neutral and they would be accepting the result of the battle at the ruins no matter what happened.
Lady Xantinus was furious when she heard this, even Councilor Swiftwind who supported the Alliance was willing to throw everything away? This couldn’t stand! She stormed from the meeting and declared that if they wouldn’t defend their allies then she would! Smiling, the Councilors knew that her hot headed nature was just what they needed, they officially marked Lady Xantinus as “gone rogue” and began to write up an official chastisement.

Lady Xantinus needed to move fast as she was already late. She hopped on her horse and led a group of twenty Inferno Ghasts charging ahead on their treads rolling along. The rest of her force consisting of 100 Zombies and 100 Skeletons would arrived a couple of days later as they were much slower. They would aid Elijah Morte’s attempts to hold the Hilltop Fort of the Knights of the Bladed Sun for the full week.

As the battle would already be underway by the time she got there she would engage Borial’s forces with flames from the Ghasts while she would attempt to restore any which were destroyed. As her army was quite small she would preform hit and run tactics against the much larger army to minimize casualties. Se would raise and dead that she could to help distract Borial’s forces and support the Itashi Alliance.
