The memorable Doctor Yitor was one of those rare people you meet in the course of your travels that confirms that sometimes the cure is worse than the condition. He was one of the few beings among the Olgogs who was called by the Earther term Doctor and he himself admits it may be why most Olgogs are wary of doctors.
Doctor Yitor barely stood three feet tall, and that was in boots. He carried with him his instrument, a zela scimitar nearly double his size. Doctor Yitor was shockingly charismatic, able to sway a crowd to his side immediately. And he was wordly, having lived among the Falosini during the K’ias Wars and among the Earthers during their colonizing phase millenia later. Doctor Yitor spoke nearly every language he had come in contact with, and was rumored to be able to convince an enemy army to kill itself without needing to ever draw his sword.
Despite this charisma, Doctor Yitor was not known for his bedside manner, often hacking off offending limbs before advising the patient. He was a Gor’ab, a hunter of The Enemy. There have been many Gor throughout the history of the Olgogs. There were the Yyan Gor, the giant enemies. There was the MagMag Gor, the most ancient of enemies and his empire of shapeshifters and Torkol gogs. And there were the Ka Gor’na, the fiery enemies of the Volcano.
Doctor Yitor had hunted all of the above but there was a certain Earther passing through Tla’loc’al that the doctor recognized from his days hunting a cult of dimension walkers. That Earther had been the servant of the Ka Gor’na and had crossed the doctor’s path a few times.
The Doctor used his charisma to gather a group of tribal leaders to hunt down that damnable Dimension Walker. They made their way south following two days behind the Killer of Hope as he had been called in the old days.
The Killer of Hope changed certain habits noted Doctor Yitor as they finally found the Killer of Hope holed up at a compound hidden out on the Trail of Auf Maglal. They saw the Killer of Hope and an unknown Paladin of the Church of One. Oners and Horned Dogs were never known for working together and this worried Doctor Yitor.
Seeing the villians about to remove a set of ornate religious relics from a section of wall, the Gor’ab went into action. Keeping his Zela blade firmly wrapped in its nightmare hide sheath, Doctor Yitor snuck up behind the pair using every bit of field craft he knew.
After making it too close to turn back, Doctor Yitor realized another being was hidden by some form of invisibility nearby. He was so close though, so close he could see the sweat on the back of Khalid Phoenixkiller’s neck. Doctor Yitor drew his blade and cut, not for Khalid but for the nozzel on his flamethrower. With the tank now open to the air, he saw most of the fuel was gone. His other hand came up cupping a small spark of fire and dropped it into the flamethrower’s tank while rolling away.
Khalid looked over to see a tiny green form dart away then the explosion hurled Khalid up and into the air. His ears were ringing but as he moved through the air time seemed to slow. He could see Sir Resugent shielding the artifical intelligence computer drive with his own body. The knigh’s armor absorbed much of the shrapnel, but the concussive wave knocked the knight unconscious.
Khalid hit the ground with enough force to bounce. He felt his arm tear, and looked down to the skin hanging open and a five inch gash. He cauterized the wound with some fire and got back up. His Quall Leather jacket was covered in shrapnel, and Khalid was fairly sure he had ruptured an eardrum.
