Messengers would go from town to town describing a beast which has been spotted near the mushroom fields. Large as a man with purple stripes on white fur and bony armored front haunches the beast grazes on the mushrooms completely immune to their spore. The beast was sighted voraciously eating the mushrooms their flanks heavy with meat. The messengers would note when they captured a female of the species they found its blue milk delicious and filling as well.
The messengers would note if they could capture and domesticate these beasts it could put a dent in the famine. The messengers were dispatched by Elijah Morte with the intent of giving hungry people hope and through their hope and belief make a kuliek of this herd grazer.
