Herd of Auf Lal' al - An Olgog and an Armorfiend walk into a cave

#1

He had volunteered for this. Lalder wanted to know how to keep the Armorfiends happy. He could not at as the strong elder show any weakness to them. So he asked if someone would learn about these armorfiends. And Lalon jumped at it.

In the Caves of Herd of Auf Lal’al is a section devoted to the armorfiends. They have made their own burrows there but continued to have a central area. It was this area where Lalon was watching. At first Lalon kept to the shadows, he wasn’t sure if they would try to eat him. Lalon paid attention to what they ate, how they interacted.

Once he found some of the basics out, he would go on patrols with them as one of the escort Olgogs.

(OOC Lalon is trying to make himself known to them. Figure out their likes, dislikes. How much they talk amongst themselves Even though they are fiends, Lalon they have to be likes… ones he may not like himself.)

Lalon’s study of the Armorfiends had been an enlightening experience especially because the Armorfiends were so unenlightened. Outside of their use of grunts and guttural sounds they also communicated in a rural form of Krato language. Missing punctuaction and flow, the armorfiends tongue was easy to translate using the Leyas but much harder to understand.

But with time Lalon finally deciphered it.

And discovered the Krato-spawn fiendlings were cruel and took great joy in causing other creatures pain and anguish.

They often played cunning pranks on their handlers, often with no other goal than to see a handler get injured.

#3

Despite their cruel actions towards their handlers, the Armorfiends seemed to far prefer living among the Auf Lal’al over the Krato. The Armorfiends lived like common animals, not bothering with tool making, or clothes. Their naked forms were covered in hardened armor plates rendering concerns of nudity quite unnecessary.
They spent their days engaged in debauchery to while away the time between jobs.
Among them Lalon noted a smaller Armorfiend barely a meter tall who seemed to be trying to learn the Olgog language from the handlers.
The Armorfiends didn’t seem to use names with each other. They used aura sight through the Leyas and scent and voice to distinguish each other. Despite them not using names their handlers certainly gave them names during their training.

#4

The Armorfiends seemed to always try and find moments to take a bite out of nearby handlers when not on duty. Some handlers said it wasn’t maliciousness but Lalon knew they were wrong. These creatures genuinely hungered for sentient flesh over other sustainence.
Other Armorfiends looked on with glee when one of their number successfully ate a handler’s fingers.
The handlers were healed by allies but it made a few handlers swap out jobs.
The handlers called the small Armorfiend, Runtler, and they all didn’t trust the little one. The other Armorfiends were over two meters of angry muscle and the Runtler would disappear behind them much like a Swordfiend might do so.

#5

Then the next they would know, the handlers would find the Runtler trying to bite off the toes of a distracted worker.
Lalon found if he offered the Runtler some raw meat the Armorfiend would sit near him. If he spoke the creature would ask questions about various words he used. The Runtler finally asked for a living creature to eat. Either a Mal’ie or a Mal Hoblok. He seemed quite intent on it too.

And to stress it, he asserted it had to be alive at the time of eating.

#6

Lalon knew he had to be careful with this request. He expects to see this armorfiend torrement and slowly kill the animal. Possibly eatting it while its alive. Those armorfiends took any opportunity to eat part of gogs that where alive.

He himself would need to steal himself to what he will most likely see. Lalder and the tribe needed to know more and this is the first time the Armorfiend… Runtler… asked anything of him. It was his chance to get to understand these armorfiends. And maybe learn something of them.

Lalon would setup a Mali’ie into an area that is remote where the animal cries will not be heard from. He would take a piece from the animal as well to possibly resurrect later. He was undecided on that part though. The animal maybe too far scared to bring back. Lastly, He also made sure to leave a finger tip with one of the Aufs. Treating this as a dangerous mission.

Lalon would then take Runtler out of the armorfiend caves for a mission as his reason. After they are away from others, Lalon would say to Runtler “I have seen the game with limbs with the others as you know. I won’t do this again if you try anything. I have the Mal’ie a ways away. A payment for something later. Like knowing more of your kind, or other things later. As things go, we’ll see what trades can be done. Now lets go.”

Lalon would take the armorfiend to the prepared spot and make sure to use Leyas to diminish the sounds that will soon follow.
