Goblin Lands Intermission 2 Week 1 Mission: The Dragonyards near Unen

#1

Lok’reshad was happy. His request for approval to raid the Blackscale Ganger base had finally been granted. He realized that the Captains had more important things on their minds, what with preparing for the flamewinds and the threat of the lands falling to a New Demonlord, Kalok. He had been asking for weeks to be allowed to take out this threat in the backyard before it could grow. Now, with the shelters prepared for the flamewinds and most everyone in the region moving to take care of the Demon, he had been told to solve the problem.

He decide that the easiest way was a raid to disrupt their camp and steal the artifact to slow the growth. He was told the he could take a small force to attack the base, So now he set off to the barracks to find some troopers to aid him.

Backstory: this is a quick raid on the Black Scale Ganger base that Lok’reshad learned of during the intermission mission [Black Scale Recruitment Drive]

Lok’reshad will be taking 8 troopers and 2 conscripts with him. they will head out in a tracked truck.

This is to be a quick raid to disrupt the base and hinder their operations till a more permanent solution can be sent. objective is to gain the artifact (which we are not telling anyone about) and basically burn/flatten the camp.

Mission Rules
First player to post gets a repost when all other players have finished posting to the mission in response to all other actions.
All other players may only make 1 posting.
Other players may only act as if they have seen the action of the first player who posts.
All other actions are compressed together by the DR team with a focus on storyline, so do not worry about paradoxes between different action posts.
Not every aspect of every action will be shown. This is especially true of actions that exceed two paragraphs.

Special Challenges: Don’t Kill the Conscripts
This base is the Black Scale Dragonyards, a place near Unen where the Black Scale Gang is creating an army of Poisonbringer dragons using an artifact able to cause aging in mortal beings. There are 30 Poisonbringers with the bodies of fullgrown dragons and the minds of juveniles that are being trained here. There are also ten Black Scale Gangers (standard stats DR Core book Kelvara section) and twenty Black Scale Ganger Conscripts (F.S. 3 and no Black Scale gang armor).
They are guarded by two wooden towers with 2 springshot riflegogs in each (S.A.R. 15), and have four other buildings (barracks S.A.R. 20, Tack House S.A.R. 5, Tanning House S.A.R. 10, Training House S.A.R. 10)
They also have one patrol of 3 Black Scale Gangers on Poisonbringer dragons flying overhead.

Open to all tribes and all mercs

Only 1 Character from each account may be sent to this mission.
Except for Unit 817 who can send the above listed units.

This mission ends on Friday 13th September at 8.PM. E.S.T.

(OOC I will try to post between 7pm and 8pm Friday for my second post. )

Lurtor ((VLAD Agent) LR:5, Heal:1, Light: 3, Shadow:3, Air:3, Earth:3, Fire:2, Water:2, General:2, Shape:5, Summ:1, Troub:4) Adj: (Str 12 (item), AR +10 M/M/E, Charisma (+4 Item), Duelist, Gunslinger, Quickdraw, Performance 2, Climb 4, HtH 1, Melee Strike +2, Ranged Shot +1, Rapid Throw +1, Bladed Sun Devotion lvl 1,Path of the redeemer lvl 1)
Shields: Life Shield, Chill Shield once fighting starts. Ignore poison from Bone Rings.
(OOC Lurtor, unless told, doesn’t know about the specific artifact, but looting anything seeming important to discover more about the leadership would help in any future raid. Also removing anything unquie would rob the gang of something they needed.)

Lok’reshad
Lurtor gives Lok’reshad a commcrystal for communication with him. He will take direction from the Undead as well. (OOC since we haven’t had a chance to work things out, I’ll take directions from Lok’reshad during the mission as well)

Lurtor’s part of the plan was right up his alley. He was a very well trained spy. A spy who could not completely alter his form and look with Troubadour (alter self) and/or shapeshifting his actual form (Shapeshifting 5). He could also tell if the gangers were being controlled. If they were, this plan to impersonate them would not work. Instead he would sneak in and swipe stuff then cause trouble.

(OOC Any possession would be reported quickly, and even up to Lalder if its serious. As possession might coordinate without talking.)

First before the camp was flattened, they would need any information or items they can get from the inside the camp. The plan was simple.

Starting with a lone Black Scale Ganger, or Conscript if no ganger around to silently knock out. Then Lurtor will focused his Troubadour and Shapeshifting leyas to take their form and look. Also activating his bone rings strength if possible. Then He would then put on their armor to complete the look. If possible he would try to get some information on who his ganger was. (Like scouting and listening for names, etc).

Lurtor then took his commcrystal and let the others in the raid know who he was. This was mainly so they didn’t shoot him.

Second, Lurtor would then use this appearance to go inside the base and check it out. Like Lalon did before, Lurtor would get whatever documents that looked important into his Shadow cocoon bag, being careful no Light artifacts went in. Also any items that looked important. Armor, weapons, Artifacts, tradables, etc. Anything that would be harder to replace. When taking unknown artifacts, first look at through Leyas site for risk, then if deemed safe to grap, use nightmare hide to wrap it up and take.

Third, if possible Lurtor would quietly take out anyone with either his capture Magi pistols, or his Nerve disruption stick. If it was someone to kill, he had his Combat Dagger (Shield Break) and his demon forged Dagger to cut throats.

Might he get a dragon.
Lurtor would be curious if he could get a dragon. While in disguise, he would pay attention to how the others treated them and handled them. If a chance arose for him to take a dragon he might.

If Unable to tame a juvi dragon, Trap, or disable them.
If Lurtor can get to the juvi dragons just before or after the others attack, he would. Depending on how the Juvi dragons were housed, Lurtor would look for a way to trap the juvi dragons or knock them out. If the dragons can’t see each other, he could use the Capture pistols to knock them out. Lurtor also has 5 sonic gernades that could if the dragons were grouped.

Fight Breaks Out
When the fight breaks out, Lurtor will Shadow Jump / Teleport / Move to an area where he can see the combat. When safe He will drop his disguise so he doesn’t get shot by his allies. Then he will call the storms (troubadour) to cause lightning and frost storms to mess with the Flying dragons and their riders.

He would also throw out some Sonic Gernades to knock out gangers and create lots of noise and distractions. He would jump around for this.

Then He will use his pistols to take out the Actual Gang members, and the Capture pistol to take down conscripts who don’t know better.

Escape:
Lurtor had a few ways out, Shadow Jumping, teleporting, sneaking off, Changing to look like someone else, or even growing wings and flying.

Yirhug adjusted his silk scarf. it was slick with sweat under the hot sun on the Unen beaches.
finding a small dune overlooking the dragonyards the red fur would cover himself with sand. it was a bit itchy and a few grains got into some uncomfortable crevisses.

Using a pirate spyglass, Yirhug spotted the adult dragons. Readying his brain fever artifact he took aim.

He would wait until the dragons began attacking his allies and would use the artifact to turn the fight in his allies favor.

Yirhug used his obscurements to keep himself hidden.

Direct combat would be avoided but if Lurtor or Lok’reshed were surrounded, Yirhug would use his incinerate artifact to provide them cover fire.

Lok’reshad will enter the base in the form of a Blackscale ganger. he will first search for the artifact and secure it if able. after securing the artifact, he will attempt to disrupt the enemy communications and send patrolling forces away from the base to be ambushed by the troopers he has following. they will be set up several miles away to take out the aerial forces with their magi cannons. after they disable the patrols, they will approach the base.

If Lok’reshad finds the base commander, he will use ‘poison dart frog’ leyas to disable the commander, thus disrupting the chain of command.
while they are dealing with the patrols, Lok’reshad will continue to disrupt base activities. he will use vorpal claws to slice thru the supports for the towers causing them to become unsable and fall, angling so that they fall on the barracks and the trainings house.

when his support arrives, they will take up position near the base and use long ranged fire support to keep the base defenders distracted and confused. meanwhile, after claiming the artifact and disrupting the defenders, he will attempmt to acces the juveniles and convince them to leave the fight and come away with his forces. any that agree will be lead out of the base. the rest will be released to find their own way or pointed toward where glog waits.

after the dragons are free from the gangers and the artifact is gained. lok’reshad will escape and the his forces will level the camp so that the gangers can no longer use it.

Lorne Harlas prepared himself for the coming mission, flexing mailed fists in anticipation. He put his blade aside for this mission, as the employer wanted non lethal takedowns, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t have a little fun. He’d keep the sword handy if he needed it, but his goal was to keep the open combat to a minimum. Placing his full helm on his head, he thought again of what he knew about this job. It sounded fairly straightforward, the kind of task that he’d earned his bread with as a younger man. Get in, incapacitate as many as possible, and secure the base. Granted, that did not account for the ulterior motives that men of his trade almost always had when accepting a job like this.

He’d first go in as he usually liked to, shadow walking and becoming a shadow as he went, probing the defenses for weakness. When he noted one, a guard turning his back, or a watchgog nodding off at the post, he’d strike, shadow walking behind him and choking out the hapless victim in a steely embrace. It would be enough to knock the gog out, but not to kill, (probably). He’d then stash the bodies in a low profile area, a ditch or whatever he could find on the quick. Once he’d done his job, he’d satisfy his curiosities, namely the poisonbringer dragons that this base was supposedly raising. No one had said he couldn’t take one, and since he was a professional after all, he figured that a little added ‘danger pay’ would more than satisfy his needs.

After the tasks were complete, he’d seek the employer and collect his payment as Mr. Ornel Lashar, private mercenary.

Relevant Stats/Equipment:

-Platemail armor and full helm
-Hand and a Half sword (Can’t be too careful)
-Hemp rope (In case an arm just doesn’t do the job)

Shadow leyas lvl 5, Adept LR 5

Stealth: 5
Climbing: 4

Using Shadow Shroud to remain unrecognizable

Glog was angry. These gogs who enslave the pups of the Darmag had no clue the force they were bringing down upon themselves.

With his bow in hand Glog used his ring to get behind the guard towers. There he used the Leyas to change wood in order to weaken the supports of the towers. Once that is done he hugs the shadows in order to get to the dragons.

When he gets to the dragons he will try to use the Leyas to speak with them, telling them of place away from these gogs, to a place where an elder can teach them.

If they are forced to fight. Glog will insist on taking the skulls of any that he kills.

Gear:
Standard Tor’og gear
1 Dragon Rib Warbow (Agility x 2)+2 Missile dmg
Glog’s ring (Frost Storm 2 sec, Shadow Walk 3 sec, Consume Nightmare 2 sec, Easy Breathing 4)
