Goblin Lands 2 Intermission 2 Mission 6: The Rocketship Launch

Since the return of Mag Buskt the Bruskti Airship Pirates have felt a resurgence in cultural pride. They sing songs, tell stories and build their fleets. Their ranks swell, even though only a small percentage of Bruskti served the Mag Buskt. Two years before the Bruskti families had been on the outskirts of Olgog society. Their secret covens and hidden flotillas were always hunted.

Then the Kul Gul Rapi Family changed everything. They were the bringers of water to the desert tribes and to the ferals. They became the Law Enforcers of the United Tribes. They changed everyone’s perspective of the Bruskti. Suddenly the hidden families had places where they were accepted.

Into this newfound acceptance the Bruskti emerged as a major regional force. The Unenese who once spoke of the Families in hushed whispers could not have direct trade relations with them. Drewsport became a hub of economic growth for the Bruskti, and Port Unen even opened its docks to Bruskti ships.

But not all Bruskti were the kind and generous Olgogs of the Kul Gul Rapi, many were dangerous vampyrs and pirates. These other Bruskti families fed on the fear of the Oner Wars of 2217 & 2218, and bided their time.

They saw the return of Mag Buskt as their inevitable return to power. They whispered of conquering the mainland and saw each accomplishment of the Mag Buskt as their own. Months ago the Lucky Fate Gang began working with Mag Bust’s champion on a secretive project. Attempts to keep it under wraps failed and quickly word spread throughout the Bruskti families that Mag Buskt had allowed his champion to build a spaceship.

The Bruskti became arrogant, boasting loudly that the Families would soon extend their reach to the stars. Poor Ur Kug fisherfolk saw it as beyond Olgog abilities but they were proven wrong as the spaceship and its launching platform were finished. While no one knew the exact day the Champion and his ally Godart would be launching, the preparations had come to an end.

Mag Buskt announced a week of festivals on his island to celebrate called the Honored Week of Launch.
Earthers living in Port Unen scoffed saying the Olgog rocketship would explode on the launch pad.
But Mag Buskt would have no one disrespect his people and the planned festival was his way of saying to all others that his Island was firmly a place where modern science was appreciated and supported. While the rocketship was owned and operated by Godart and the Lucky Fate Gang, Mag Buskt had allowed it to be built on his island and knew its success or failure would reflect on him and his stronghold.

Mission Objectives

  1. Do you send a representative to the Honored Week of Launch Festival? If so whom and how are they armed?
  2. Does your character support and defend the launch or try and stop it?
  3. If so what is your plan?
  4. Both Mag Buskt and OtO will be at the opening ceremony for the festival and visible to all attendees, do you pay them respects or try and assassinate either of them?
  5. After the Opening Ceremony OtO will return to the launch site and cannot be followed but Mag Buskt will remain at his palace which is accessible to guests do you attempt any contact or assassinations on the Mag Buskt at that point?

Mission Rules
First player to post gets a repost when all other players have finished posting to the mission in response to all other actions.
All other players may only make 1 posting.
Other players may only act as if they have seen the action of the first player who posts.
All other actions are compressed together by the DR team with a focus on storyline, so do not worry about paradoxes between different action posts.
Not every aspect of every action will be shown. This is especially true of actions that exceed two paragraphs.

Special Challenges: For All Players- Does your character attempt to support or prevent the Launch of the rocketship from Mag Buskt Island? If so how? Important Note: no one can infiltrate the launch site itself but once the launch begins the rocket can be seen by anyone on Mag Buskt Island.

For Godart and OtO how will you prevent the EEF and Iron Republic satellites from shooting down the rocket ship? Important note: since OtOs use of the Sat network to attack Tla’loc’al the satellite network counts as unhackable, and cannot be remotely controlled from the surface. Godart may create a planning thread for the launch but launch must occur during the Festival Week (and Mag Buskt has requested great horns be sounded so he can watch its rise to glory).

Open to all tribes and all mercs

This mission ends on Friday January 23rd at 8pm

Olgog the Olgog

Security was tight, OtO saw to that. Random patrols, regular patrols, bouncers were all out watching the crowd. Projectile weapons were checked into a locker, and Ceremonial weapons were peacedknotted.

OOC: I’m going to expand upon this, and for people wanting to infiltrate this should wait so that when I describe the patrols and other tasks made to prevent any attacks they can counter them (95% of everything would be visible to everyone)

The Launch site and surrounding buildings went on lockdown 7 days before the celebration. The rest of the island went on lockdown 72 hours before the celebration.

Security on land was broken up into 4 parts.

Stationary Security

The gogs doing stationary security were assigned in pairs to every entrance and exit. At least one at all times was able to use an artifact or able to naturally use leyas sight. Shifts were staggered so that one would have time to report while the other was fully alert, to ensure proper attention was paid to people coming in and out.

Roving Teams (Pattern)

These teams (again, with at least one gog that can use leyas sight) patrolled in patters, around the facilities, around the house of Mag Buskt, around the local village, and any place that was popluated. Each patrol was scheduled so that there were teams wandering the same circuit in both directions, and that each team can see the team in front of them.

In addition, there were teams that patrolled the shores of the island. Each had a gog that can direct the air ships and ships to the designated parking places.

Roving Teams (random)

The teams were given a stone/artifact that would show a location on the island, and they were to patrol to that location. There were several of these teams, to make it difficult to see the patterened patrols and to hit locations that may not be easily covered by the stationary positions. In addition, these were the rapid response teams, that would break the patrol to come to investigate an issue found.

Bouncers/Party Security

These gogs would defuse situations for various gogs at the party, They will separate out the children and juveniles to areas with games and activities for them. They will keep an eye on the adult gogs at the party. They were to mingle and make sure everyone was having a good time, and that there was no one causing trouble.

Location set up

There would be a ship dock extended where all ships would be expected to moor. There will be a airship parking setup nearby. Theses would have stationary and moving patrols (and random roving patrols from time to time).

Before the party, each weapon will be inspected. If it is a melee weapon it would be peaceknotted. Ranged weapons, except ordimental non functional ones would be checked until the actual launch. A number system would be used, each gog that turns in his weapon would get a tag with a number on it so they can check the weapon out again.

There will be someone with artifact lore to identify artifacts and have the dangerous ones taken back to the ship or checked.

Other preparations

OtO had been to space, so he knew of the local IR hierarchy. He also had a satellite dish. He would send a to whom it may concern message, and invite some of the representatives down, making sure to ask them to bring a non Quall n’drone or horned dog. He would also comment that it was semi formal and about the weapons check.

As for the EEF, he personally invited Giffords down (in another thread) and offered to let him inspect the factory floor provided he arrives significantly before the party. In addition, the other generals of the EEF were invited provided they don’t shoot any OtO in the face.

Underwater OtO was activated

He was responsible for setting up and maintaining the integrity of the safety underwater, setting up mines where needed to prevent an underwater attack (and whatever other defenses are needed)

Air combat OtO was activated
Space OtO was activated

These gogs were responsible for defense against air and space attacks. Air vs the island and the ship, and space vs the ship. The would be allowed to setup hidden weapons on the mountain to help protect the investement that they have. In addition, some sort of radar disrupting setup would be used in case of missile attack.

As many of the gogs were coming directly from the army of Mag Buskt (security of parties being part of the champion’s responsibility) those that volunteered for safekeeping would get a tour (with their families) of the launch site when the party was over.

To deal with the Bruski’s that are getting arrogant, he would have 3 of the fishergogs out in power armour interacting with the gogs at the party, where a demonstration of their skills would be shown. OtO would comment on how no matter how powerful there is always someone better, so there is a need for constant training.

Love stepped off her hoverbike on the docks of Mag Buskt island. Her EEF contacts had let slip that Olgog the Olgog was working with the Old Vlad.
Love had faced the Old Vlad on many occasions and had always barely escaped with her life. Deciding to go on the offensive she would use the cover of the crowd to get a good shot on the infamous Olgog and snipe him well. But she would leave all her obvious guns stored in her special lockbox and seem to go in completely unarmed.
Her cybernetic implants would take care of the shot, and would take it in the middle of the ceremony. She would not allow one of the old Vlads operatives to live so brazenly out in the open. She didn’t really care about the launch. It was just her cover to get within sniper range.

At the begining of the party but before the Launch, Lalder would make a trip to the Island to see mag buskt. Sending a messenger ahead to make sure he could meet with Mag Buskt and meet with him without Olgog the Olgog. And that the need is urgent.

On Entrance, Lalder would be respectful to the Elder Chief and said “Greeting Mag Buskt, it has been a while and a bit better circumstances than the last time we meet. And I’m glad the hostility was lessened in this time. But I need to tell you of things, so I think your Champion may not realize or is maybe misleading you. But please hear me out and you decide which.

First a warning. You may know of this as I’ve tried to pass warnings through Godart. The Neliffs are back and have been infesting at least the Yyan. If you do not know, Neliffs are evil creatures that plant larva in hosts, but are far worse than the QUall. ANd they support the Warmonger. Unit 817 can help detect them, but I expect you maybe able to sense them too.

Finally, what has brought me here. This launch of a spaceship is not a good idea. In fact it could cause great harm to your island and maybe all Olgogs. Things have changed, but we are not ready to announce to the world our abilities and tech. And we cannot take on those like the Iron Republic.

The Iron Republic I’m told is a very evil organization that has kicked the butts of the EEF and earthers in the past. At some time the IR came to an agreement with the EEF to stop the fighting. This allows no other ships in orbit that are not approved by both parties. Any others are given a warning before Orbit and shot down.

I have confirmed this with the EEF. The ship will be shot down before it reaches Orbit. This is to protect us as much as them.

If the ship reaches orbit, the IR could decide to orbitally bomb the launch zone. Think what your champion did to Tla’loc’al with the exception your gogs don’t live in the deep caves like us.

Next, the IR could even decide to invade the south to checkout us to see our tech levels. This may even spread farther than your island to the rest of us. This could put us all dead or at war.

Other than pride, there is little value in this launch. Godart is not the first Olgog with a space ship. And his crew won’t be the first Olgogs in Space. There is only risk and no benefit.

I know you don’t want to hear this but remember, OtO is not well thought of or trusted in the Colonies. I doubt the EEF would allow him access to space, especially after his actions the last time when he Orbitially bombed Tla’loc’al! Let me play this video.”

Lalder sets down a player handed to him by the eef showing OtO trying to delay other Olgogs from join the colonies. The part Lalder makes sure Mag Buskt hears is:

OtO saying “I intent to take everything below the 38th parallel. It will become a new nation distinct from the colonies. It will be maintained by me militarily, just as the EEF maintains the colonies.”

Lalder says “Your Champion plots. This isn’t about your territories and he also makes no mention of you, just him. He is building weapons beyond needed forcing an arms race. He has built Power armor and even Cloned himself. This ship will be viewed not as an achievement, but as a way for OtO to gain access to space and what way is OtO going to turn it into a weapon.

Please cancel this Launch for these reasons and more.

But if you don’t, I will have supplies and gogs ready to help in the case that I’m right and OtO is wrong or blinded by his quest for power. Take this comm crystal, and if you call, mine will help.”

(OOC Lalder will be respectful with his leave and answer questions per this.)

With that, Lalder will leave and head back to the Carrier. Staying in Contact with the EEF and mimizing any damage done. Lalder will support the EEF actions that shoot down the space ship.

Attacks
Lalder will defend/assist Mag Buskt against attacks (but not OtO).

Transport
Lalder will arrive and leave in his Lur Union Fighter. His ship will be escorted by 2 other fighters with crews. Crews will stay with the ships. Then stage off to one of the Carriers that is hidden with its reflective shields up.

(OOC I will put many different ways of planting the artifact, Impersonating a mechanic, pilot, or just teleporting it to the right location. Not sure which way would work or Lurtor would have an opportunity to do. So left options open. )

Artifact - Reverse Metal
Lurtor had requested an item from Lalder, one he hoped would do nothing, but should keep the ship from the. He would ask for 2 of them. (One for Kolgol)

The artifact would be a one time use reverse metal artifact that will activates at a certain altitude then disintegrates after activation. After getting above a minimum altitude without hitting the max, it will still disintegrate without activating. This item would additionally be artificed with protective aura and conceal. (Lalder would mask any signs he made it).

The plan is for the artifact to be attached to the ship near the engine or in the ship. When activated, it will crush the near by area like engines, or deform the ship enough to not be able to make it too space.

Lurtor Thoughts:
Lurtor thought “He knew that someone had to prevent this launch. It would be bad for so many if it succeeded.

He was going between the knight and the assassin. But here, the two would join. He would use the shadows where he felt at home with his skills to protect many. Once the task was done he would enjoy some time off…. @#$@#$ next is neliffs. He will destroy them here as well…

But this ship should not make orbit otherwise many would die.“

Kolgol
Lurtor will work with Kolgol, and if he has a better idea or chance, Lurtor will work with him as a team.

Base of Operations while scouting
If the guards are not using ground detections or penatration, Lurtor will create some bunkers use to sleep and meet in. He will always keep an escape route out or teleportation as well. Otherwise caves in the volcano with the help of Kolgol. Lurtor would summon an Earth elemental to help with work to difficult or skilled for himself.

Transport
Many options, growing wings, teleportation, and Shadow jumps. A fighter would drop them off at a point far enough away to avoid detection of the dropoff. There they will make their way in undetected.

Scouting
Lurtor would stash some equipment into a hidden area on the volcano. Teleporting in if possible before the island locks down (Since he’s been there before). In this he would scout the areas and patrols staying in the shadows, letting them envelop him. Keeping his body heat hidden as well as himself from sight. Lurtor would summon an air elemental invisible to most to assist in his scouting.

Neliffs
Any Nelifs detected would be marked who they are, kept at distance, and killed if possible. Bodies disposed of.

Disguise:
Lurtor will use his disguise to walk around. He would allow his Bruski weapon to be peacebound, while keeping his bag stowed and concealed. If it looks like he can’t get in from his scouting, he’ll stay hidden and let Kolgol know

Planting the Device:
He nor Kolgol should risk capture. But Lurtor had two ways to get the artifact attached. Lurtor just needed to see the ship, and not even up close. He grabbed the device, and reached through the shadow in his pocket and placed the artifact in an area out of sight moments. (aka teleporitng just the device).

If teleporting the item, Lurtor would find a way to breakin a plant the device inside the ship. He could impersonate one of the workers that has access to the hanger.

Impersonate Pilot or mechanic
If all chances to get close to the plane fail, Lurtor will stalk/track the pilot or mechanic, double checking that if he replaced either, they would not press zella to him. Or if there would that his replacement happened after this check. Lurtor would knock out his target with his healing leyas and hide the person so they would not appear. Then he would mimic them. Allowing him access to the ship to place the artifact.

Patrols:
While scouting, Lurtor would avoid them all. Dead patrols would just announce his presence.

Escape:
Lurtor would meetup with Kogol and leave after the launch or when the device was planted. Escape options are jumping to the volcano, duck away and teleport/shadow jump out. Or hitching a ride on a leaving ship. Lalder’s Fighters are an option depending on timing.

OtO Clones:
Lurtor will avoid OtO. But, Lurtor did owe them for the shot in the face and with so many around due to clones, who would miss 1, 2 or 5. Lurtor is not against stepping out of the comforting shadows and slitting OtO’s throat with the demon forged dagger and his Dragon Rings strength. IF by the volcano, Lurtor will drop the body in there.

A bruskti hag. A wizened old scallawag is what guests at the party would see as Kolgol walked in to the proceedings. A surprisingly still spry old hag, but a hag nonetheless. He would do his best to keep his head down and not start any trouble with the guests or guards at first, and would observe the patterns they took. He brought no weapons, as people might recognize his armaments from past conflicts. He’d crack a joke that his hands were registered as lethal weapons, but aside from that, he wasn’t packing any heat that he didn’t need leyas to create.

He’d do his best to enjoy the party, and he’d explore the “permitted” zones of the island where possible. It was not his first time here, and he recalled the rough layout of the place. He’d work in sync with Lurtor, relying on Lurtor’s superior stealth abilities while providing his own knowledge and skill in Earth and Fire leyas. Kolgol couldn’t shadow walk, he couldn’t make a shadow cocoon out of a breath of leyas and the flash of a cloak, but what he could do was draw attention, and he fully intended to do so.

Should it prove to difficult for Lurtor to get close enough to the spaceship itself, Kolgol had a plan to aid him. When the time was right, he’d leap on top of a table (I assume they have tables at this party), and he’d loudly shout out a toast to everyone in the area.

“Three cheers for Olgog the Olgog! Bringing our people closer to the stars and leading us to glory!” Drink

“Three cheers for Mag Buskt! Glorious leader and magnate of this venerated and historic refuge for the Bruskti!” Drink

“And lastly, three cheers for the gog that always has a plan, and is probably smarter than the rest of us put together, Godart!” Drink

He’d then run off through the party, clapping people on the back, shouldering bouncers with surprising strength for his “age”, and causing a general ruckus, perhaps even shooting off a few fire darts into the air if it seemed appropriate. Hopefully this would draw the attention of the bouncers and more importantly the big three of the event long enough for Lurtor to slip away. While Kolgol did have his own device to sabotage the ship, he was fairly confident that he wouldn’t be able to stealthily reach the craft, so he’d only attempt it if things looked truly dire.

Having hopefully dodged any real trouble, he’d await Lurtor’s teleport out of the event, otherwise it was going to be a long swim.

Reshed strode off the Xephos #1, his decorated coat and tricorn hat freshly cleaned for this event. Behind him came Hide, dressed in a simple grey jacket, his spectacles pushed up on his nose as he looked around the docking area and where the rocket was. He wished he could have designed something of the like, but The Captain always told Hide to be careful in what direction he took, in terms of technology, and space is off limits. Rhug’ab was the last one off, dressed in the dark grey military uniform of the Rhug’na’ru. Reshed waved to the pilot of the Xephos #1, telling him to power down the engines for now. The crew would stay aboard the ship while Reshed, Rhug’ab, and Hide went to the Festival itself. They kept their weapons stored away on the airship, except Reshed’s sword which he would get a peace-knot for. If a patrol wished to inspect their airship they would be given full access to the ship’s stores and a list of all the weapons on board.

The three of the Rhug’na’ru representatives would walk around the party, making conversation with the people at the party. Reshed would try to get a short conversation with leaders that also attend and the hosts of course. Hide would inspect any technology and would keep an eye on the rocket, trying to figure out how the design would stand up to the forces it would be put under. Rhug’ab would simply wander the party and take in the sights and activities that were set up. It was his first time on a mission that didn’t involve combat so he was on edge, it wasn’t every day you were promoted and he was keen on making a good impression to his leaders, and other party goers.

They would be at the festival up until an hour till launch time, when they would return to the Xephos #1 and fly out to sea where they would watch the rocket launch from a safe distance, as well as have the best seats in the house for the launch in general. If there was no disaster they would return to the festival and congratulate the creators. If the ship blew up on the launchpad, they would return and express their sorrows that the launch did not go as planned. If the rocket was destroyed as it was nearing the outer atmosphere, they would head back to Rhug’tor and hopee that if there was EEF or IR retaliation that they could clear the blast zone.

General Giffords will attend the launch celebrations. He will arrive with a small guard of EEF spec ops ( two Onis two Golaiths and two Wraiths) he will take the tour but immediately upon arrival he will ask to speak personally to Mag Buskt. If allowed to do so he will first inquire if OtO has ever told him of the Iron Republic and the EEF treaty with them. Assuming that he has not he will explain who and what the Iron Republic is and about the peace treaty that has kept them from attacking the planet. Then he will say

 “This launch itself won't  be a violation of the treaty. Any attempt to enter orbit or leave orbit for open space would be a great danger to the ship and crew. They will be warned to return to the planet. Failure to do so will result in the ship being fired on and destroyed along with its crew and maybe an attack on the launch site. I understand that you and your people invested much in this project. And that it has become an important symbol. I won't  tell you to stop or even ask that you do so. Instead I will ask that you order the ship to not enter orbit. The ship can launch and then land later on. You would still have achieved much and the observers will see your success and no one will get hurt.

 “We ask that you do this in order to safe guard your own people and the treaty that has made peaceful life possible on this planet. We also make this warning despite your champions alliance with a known terrorist and murderer. "
  At which point he will share evidence of the origin of the army of Olgog the Olgog and his self confessed collusion with Old Vlad. A well know insurrectionist, racist and murderer devoted to complete earther domination of Refuge. 

“This is the person your champion allies himself with and indirectly you with. You should consider the consequences of his actions since he seems to be unable to.”

If this is accepted the General will attend the launch but leave as early as politeness allows. If it isn’t or he is not permitted to speak to Mag Buskt in a reasonable time he and his guards will leave peacefully and immediately. If anyone attempts to stop them each guard will have an energy bridge artifact (heavily obscured) which they will use to evacuate the group to a secure location on the plane of water to a waiting basilisk battleship as local support the general will also have his panic button.
The EEF will not actively attempt to stop or endanger the launch. However per their treaty obligations they will inform the Iron Republic of the launch. They will also do nothing to defend or ensure the launch happens.
If the launch is a success and the ship nears orbit it will be warned to return to the planet. Two warnings will be given if they are not heeded the ship will be engaged by the orbital rings and on station defense ships (three City of the Gods class battle ships, five Dusk class destroyers, four Kalino frigates, five gunships 50 gunpods and 50 drones (30 hunter/killer and 20 fireships). It will be forced to land or be destroyed. It will not be chased after it returns to the atmosphere.

“Where to start in this three ring circus?”

The space elephant and exiled donkey in the room: Iron Republic and Earth Expeditionary Force. After Olgog the Olgog’s sends message to both of them, Godart of the Lucky Fate Squad sends his own message. To the EFF via letter to General Giffords and the IR via radio and really big ballons (Radar Decoy Self Propelled Balloons – they are pretty big and we have a lot of paint.) he tells them this spaceship is not some weapon but a stepping stone towards peace.

“You might be thinking to yourselves – that’s a shit and lie in a half. You might call this planet D-445 or Refuge but we Olgogs call this land, Home. Your millennium long feud needs to stop messing with our home planet. Don’t be surprised; we not all ignorant. We are mostly happy to share our home with you but you need to stop seeing us and each other as monsters needing to be put down.”

The message concludes with a personal invitation to the IR and the EFF to come on down a take a look. If they don’t respond or say “Do not launch this spaceship!”, THE LAUNCH DOESN’T HAPPEN, YET. Godart is willing to make concessions within reason with the two greater powers.

“How does one get something off the planet?”

Happy that you ask. First thing firsts: This is not a true rocket ship in the sense that it doesn’t get into orbit with big three stage chemical rockets(explosions!). The Lucky Fate Squad doesn’t want to burn (literally) resources you can’t get you hands on easily. Secondly: You plan and build. There’s a 5 mile radius area cleared around the Tower that has buildings for people, test/training areas, some indoor farms, and solar with wind power generation. It’s a NO GO ZONE for outsiders. Thirdly: Everyone drills for security and safety. Background checks and checkpoints that require badges with biometerics. Cameras and fences at key areas. We hired 15 Olgog Leyas Mancers from Mag Buskt to spot for weird leyas stuff and support. Godart spends 20lbs of zela dust for mancers/security and enough food to feed them and their families.

This spaceship is launched by a toughly built electromagnetic rail that is a few miles long. It points up, can takes lots of damage, has EMP resistance and can be move around for semi-easy storage underground. The cool thing is when it’s turn on, it reflects most physical and energy attacks within 100 yards. Don’t want to stand next to this thing while it’s on. It’s deadly ntype of nuts. The ship will not be on launcher outside for more than a few of seconds because it’s going fast. This is where Lord Mada and his crew, and Hekeriki (female, non-immutable egghead engineer) with 10 Goblin Gunners, 5 Olgog Leyas Mancers and 2 Engineers will set up, patrol and guard. Lord Mada gets paid 100 tons of scrap metal, and the last of the 10 lbs of zela dust.

At the base of the tower is the complex where the science happens. Underground it has 5 hangers, a factory, lot’s of storage, medical center, geo-thermal power plant with batteries, hovertruck garages and oh… 3 spacecraft. Two of them are not ready.

The one that is ready is called: Goblin Ur’sa One.

It has room and life support for 1 pilot and 2 passengers for three days. Battery/Hydrogen power. It shaped like a triangle with two scramjets and one chemical rocket. Scramjets are used to leave orbit but needs the launcher to get them at the right speed. The chemical rocket is not enough nor is it used to leave orbit. It’s used for space travel or moving around place to place. It’s twice as big as a Gunpod and in Ghaz terms costs the same. It’s half as tough as a cruiser except for the E.P. That’s because it usually being launch at high Mach speed. This doesn’t have any weapons. (OOC: It looks like a stealth bomber but more angler and it’s painted blue – I’ll stat this thing up with the Narrator if the spaceship survives this mission) Jamie and his friends with 10 Goblin Gunners, 5 Olgog Leyas Mancers and 1 Olgog Engineer will guard the underground hanger and spaceships. 10 Shotgun Earthers, 2 Olgog Leyas Mancers and 1 Engineer will guard the geo-power plant.

The Tower itself will be “man and olgoged” by Lord Blake Jorn Ar’Lash of Chooru, Naeil (female, stout immutable), 5 Shotgun Earthers, 4 Goblin Gunners and 3 Olgog Leyas Mancers . It’s the only other way in besides the hanger doors. The main checkpoint is here. This is where Mag Buskt, the EFF and the IR people will be taken if they want a closer looker before the launch. During the launch, they are going back outside the fence and the base. It’s got old CRT screens and primitive control panels. The cameras that are wired up around the base show the action from here. Radios or Comm crystals are on hand to talk to the other two groups which have radios and comm crystal.

Note: To the Lucky Fate Squad and Friends (OOC: other players) If we see any intruders, we kill them and rez them later after the mission.

“Leading up to the launch, we had drills and drills and more drills. We focused on problems with the ship, the launcher, the tower, the base itself. There were war games to see what weakness we had in our defenses. You know, devised ways to fight around all this expensive crap we have laying around without destroying it.”, Godart scratches his scars.

“Put away the explody stuff and what not. Those… penguins are surprisingly tough. There was a few practice launches – the ship didn’t go into orbit or close to it – and what-if stuff. I up chucked up a lot and blackout a few times before I got used to the speed. I’ll stop rambling.”, Godart smiled slyly.

Godart looks at Mag Buskt.

“I don’t know what you’ve been told by who. I don’t about the Neliffs or Warmonger or where they are. I don’t even really know who you are Mag Buskt. This whole spaceship thing kinda just grew from a small idea. We found a lot of zela and we joked around that we should use it to go into space. And it grew and became a serious thing – no, a calling. This a dream come true; it’s something in this life I love. We have the chance to go explore and grow as a people”, the gog pulls a huge book from his pack.

“We not keeping this a secret, hiding what we can do or hoarding the knowledge. Take this.”, as Godart hands Mag Buskt the huge book.

“I know there quite a few gogs that can’t read, but here’s the research and plans on how we built this spacecraft. Minus the information about security on site here. We not that foolish. I already had my gang send out written copies, audio crystals/players and what not to a bunch gog here in the goblin lands, all over the earther colonies and the northern kingdoms.”

“We don’t need a monopoly nor do we wish to become a military state power. States are monopolies of violence like the Lalder’s UTR. The Lucky Fate Squad is a nation and wishes to help other nations grow better. Nations are quote, group of people who feel bound to each other into a collective by something shared, end-quote.”, stated Godart.

“I’m figuring you want to be a nation and not a state. As I’ve said, I don’t know you. But I do know that there are bigger powers out there who will go beyond simply asking or demanding us not to launch other than the IR or the EFF. The reality is if the IR or EFF speak and I have to listen. For now. If the IR says no , then I’ll figure a way later for them to say yes. As for the other guys… the other states…”

Godart frowns.

“… to hell with them. Let their actions and not their words be the guide to your judgment. Had a uncle who told me that once.”

The scar faced gog in the heavy suit begins to leave.

“Any help that you need, just ask us. I’ll be smart about it.”,offers Godart as he puts his spacesuit helmet on.

To be clear on things:

If the Iron Republic says “No.” or doesn’t say anything, there is no launch. If they don’t say anything and attack, Godart will fly Goblin Ur’sa One into one of those space stations and DESTORY IT in a suicidal run. [Pilot 3, plus the training and Agility 6] We trained for this but Godart rather not die for real. The ship doesn’t have an ejector seat.*

No unknown faces are allowed within three miles of the base fence. You can see the launch from where you are just fine. We have HobGoblin Ur’sa Two outside for anyone wants to take a look. It’s mostly just a shell with nice looking seats and fake controls. OtO forces can look after it’s care for the kids and the adults who are kids. If anyone wants to join to Lucky Fate Squad afterwords, we can train them.

We will be on the lookout for Neliffs and any enemies. No one is allowed to be alone or go off alone. Lock down in one week before the launch. No parting for us. If you not on the list above, you are not supposed to be here. We trained, a lot, for this.

Godart will be piloting Goblin Ur’sa One (Trained). If the main underground power-plant is damaged or destroyed while the ship is launching, the launcher will still work safety but not enough for anything to get into orbit. If the launcher is damaged A LOT but not destroyed, the ship can still launch but not into orbit. If the tower is destroyed, hell that we know if the crashing tower will block the hanger/launcher opening. Couldn’t really train for THAT.

Godart [HP 24] is wearing an ancient, refited spacesuit that has his health spider install on the chest and three nanite syringes in the auto-doc compartment. Leaving the launcher at high-speeds (MACH 4) tends to really hurt or kill you. The seating in the ship should help handle the force. Godart plans to orbit Refuge a few times before landing.

*It does have an O.S. Personal Re-Entry Shield that Godart could take and leave though the exit hatch. It’s an insulated one use heat shield with a parachute. He could surf on down through the upper levels of the sky until he can deploy it’s parachute near the lower levels of the sky. Hekeriki made it. Might work; not tested.

Red Bishop Jamie had just finished setting up the jamming equipment, wasn’t powerful but it would prevent any short range listening devices tech or leyas, the last part he assumed, it was what he was told it was capable of, he hoped the inquisitor’s knew what they were doing when they built it. Oh well, too late to worry now. He turned to the group that was with him.

Huang Shi was first to give his report. “Good morning all, my work with the engines has been quite successful. As we predicted while quite intelligent the Goblins here really here don’t have much experience and are a bit too trusting. I made subtle modifications that I have told them will increase efficiency but what it actually does is create a simple energy cap. Basically we have an artificial blockage in the energy storage system. So when the electromagnetic rail pumps the vast amount of energy into the actual engine it will overload. I also modified the warning system so it always says that things are ok. Don’t want them to scrap the launch after all."

Jamie smiled, “Excellent, now Doctor Azai your report.”

Azai nodded “Greetings, I have engineered minor flaws throughout the hull, telling the local Goblins that it will provide extra protection from excessive heat while traveling through the atmosphere. In reality the ship will be more susceptible rather than less. Also in case there is any pesky explosions it will come apart easier.”

“Excellent work Doctor. Now Dr. Bones, your report.

Leonard grunted in an annoyed fashion “To be honest this has been a bit too easy for my taste. My original plan was to put in some additives to make the fuel burn hotter and faster. Sadly they aren’t using traditional fuel however I believe Huang Shi’s plan should work out well there. Also Godart asked me to do medical checks on everyone who may have been exposed to the Neliff, including himself. I also arraigned to work on the rest of the personnel of the base, Instead of the sugar water injection that I said I would use I put in a slow working poison. By the time of the launch most of the base personnel will be sluggish and weak. It is subtle so most will just assume that they are feeling nervous about the launch and feeling a bit off. By the time of the launch they should be getting worse.”

Jamie chuckled “Ah, why I say I do so rely on the kindness of strange Goblins heh heh. Well, fine work Doctor fine work indeed. Well now I will do my part, I have arranged for four Church warships to approach the coast and begin bombarding the area. They aren’t really trying to destroy the area just create a distraction. In addition a squad of three Gunpods and four hover coptors will provide air support. I know that Olgog the Olgog is making defensive preparations which is why neither group will fully engage just distract. While this is happening a stealth AAV will move in and blast a hole into the wall closest to where we are stationed in the hanger area. As we will be in our Power armor we shouldn’t have much of a problem shooting our way out during the confusion. Once we are on board and away the distraction forces will withdraw hopefully with minimal casualties."

So to sum up, Engineer Huang Shi has used his positon working on the engines to sabotage them to overload and override the safety warnings to pretend things are alright.

Dr. Azai Yukimura is sabotaging the hull to make it break apart easier in case of the explosion.

Dr. Lenard Bones has injected all base personal with a slow acting poison that will make them all sluggish, and weak during the launch to prevent them from acting to stop the sabotage or prevent the escape (Godart gave him permission to give everyone in the base a medical exam looking for Neliff, not that he is actually doing that)

Jamie has called in to Dunesphere (He works for them not Grimaldus SURPRISE! :stuck_out_tongue: ) He has told them of the basic defenses and layout of the island and base. Four ships will begin bombarding the area, targeting specifically anti air defenses first then general bombardment to sow chaos. Three Gunpods shall begin evasive maneuvers and strafing runs to distract the defenders while four Hovecoptors shall come in low and fast firing missiles and rail fire.

This is all of course a distraction for a Stealth AAV to come in and extract the team.

Jamie and the rest of his team will be wearing Red Bishop Power Armor and will use their weapons to lay down covering fire for each other to extract to the stealth AAV blowing a hole in the wall of the hanger to make their escape. Naturally as they are part of the defense team their weapons will not be altered or modified by the Olgogs.

As instructed by Godart, Lord Mada and his minions will be on guard duty, protecting Hekeriki during the launch. Easy job is nothing goes wrong, but when does anything go according to plan? At the first sign of trouble, Lord Mada will release his War Dragon and Falsewyrm to attack aggressors, primarily focusing on the area immediately around him. They will use their respective chill and magi-cannon attacks and also protect the launch rail if necessary/possible.

His penguins will form a protective ring around himself and Hekeriki while she works. If the two get attacked directly, Lord Mada will wrap his shadow cocoon around the engineer to keep her safe, and use his Magi pistol to try and eliminate the threat.

Gultor’uf would send alchemist, Smith, Shinryuu and wata??? to speak about the building in new karov city and see what accomplishments that are happening in Unen. The would ask Mag Buskt if they can get some of the light sentient trees to plant inside the city.
