GL2 Intermission 4-5: The Space Ship "Base" on Mag Buskt Island

#1

The area set aside for Godart and OtO’s work was now full of manic activity. The Bruskti and Lucky Fate Olgogs were working together on following Godart’s two year old plan.

In the main tent were blueprints and designs the workgogs were following. Here was also OtO, Godart, Blake Arlash, Trail Driver Jamie and Og Or’gog squire of OtO.

With the materials arrive, many changes have been taking place. Repairs to the tower and the elevator, clearing of some of the land for clear space for some administrative buildings. Below, in the cavern where Mag Buskt once was, excavation and the building of rooms for specific reasons is in place. The large cavern is used for manufacturing of the parts and materials. Inside the manufacturing area, there will be two rooms carved out, an office for GoDart and an Office for OtO. Inside OtO’s office, he and the other OtOs will put a hidden room as a design lab primarily for Science OtO.

There will be utilization of the first floor entrance, security would be posted at the entrench, at the elevator, and at the stairs of each floor. There will be a secretaries desk on the first floor for those who stop by with the ability to call the people that the visitor wants to see.

The lower level will have another secretaries desk, which every one will be stopped at (because manufacturing floor is dangerous). Visitors would be escorted by the person that has authorization to bring guests.

Mag Buskt would be invited to come inspect at least once a week, but would be informed because of the construction that it would be best if he is escorted. If he comes unannounced, he would be stopped at the front desk and then OtO (or another representative) would come up and escort him whereever he wants to go.

“Gesz Olgog The All Work And No Play Makes You A Dull Gog, chill a bit. Anyhow, the easy part is over with.”

HUGE GOOFY GRIN

“Let’s take a break and enjoy this moment by playing a little song…”

Godart drops a black grooved disk size of a plate on a weird device with a turntable and funnel.

plays song: Pharrell Williams - Happy

Godart sings (Music Skill 0): “It might seem crazy what I’m about to say. Sunshine, she’s here, you can take a break.”

The young gog Electric Slides (Dance Skill 0) out of the tent and into the open camp where the rest of the gang taking a much need rest.

“Heh guys, get up like a hot air balloon that could go to space - we having a party!”

“Why?”, asks a random gog.

“Because I’m happy! Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof!”

“What?”, gawks another gog.

“Happy. Nothing can bring me down. Can’t nothing bring me down and my level’s too high! So clap along! Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth! Clap along if you know what happiness is to you - that’s the ticket you knuckleheads!”

A beat forms in the camp to the music from the tent.

“So says the head knucklehead!”, taunts yet another gog.

“That’s Mr Smooth Talking Knucklehead to you… Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do. Hook up the speakers and break out your dancing shoes!”

A rough chorus forms. Clapping is heard:

"Because I’m happy!

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof.

Because I’m happy!

Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do."

Godart strides back into the tent.

"We just cut down 20 years worth of resource gathering into JUST 2 years. Granted that the trucking company is operating at a lost, we super low on cold hard cash and the UTR most likely now has a grudge against the Lucky Fate Squad.”

The gog shrugs a bit.

“Then again, I got enough space grade stuff to kick start a space program. Though, I’m working with a bunch a guys I know next nothing about, allied with Olgog The Every One Wants Dead, Dead Olgog who is working for some old, yet dangerous gog named Mag Buskt."

Godart blinks.

“Who is this guy and when do I get to meet him?”

Jamie looked around and whistled, he ran one of his hands through his hair. Turning to Godart he smiles “Looks like you have quite an operation going on here. I am impressed. I just want you to know that I am here for the long haul. I recived years worth of technical training and I have worked on many high technology construction projects. Now I will admit I have never constructed a space ship but I doubt anyone else here has either. I have worked on striders, trucks, and even some Gunpods. I think I can be very useful for you in this project of yours.”

#5

To Jamie

“This going to be a long and complicated job… maybe? Right now we have all this materials but no spaceship. Before we build this spaceship we going to need some infrastructure built. Looks like Olgog the Olgog got this control tower thing he’s… digging out… with a manufacturing area under it. Proactive. I guess OtO is indoor type of guy. Oh yeah, the cold hard cash is going to run out soon at the rate I’m going. Most likely going to have to merc work again.”

Godart shrugs.

“Factory, tower and offices is good and all but we going to need more. We need a power plant, the launcher for the spaceship, hanger or three, training area, testing area, quarters for sleeping and eating AND way to feed everyone here. Plus a medical building because people are going to get hurt or dead. Double plus we going to need a way to organize everyone. Triple plus we need to work on the spaceship design along with the launcher.”

“We got someone for the spaceship, launcher and power plant in mind. She’s a little young but it’s time to promote her from rank and file to something more. I’m going to work on food because I made a boast and a promise.”

The gog looks thoughtful.

“What do you want to do Jamie?”

There is a lot of things needed. And before you go building you might want to look at how the locals build their buildings. The mounds of the bruski are telling, they let us know that storms do come to this island that can wash buildings away. This is why the only real buildings on the islands are the tower and Mag Buskt’s home at the top of the island. Outside we have to use more materials to prevent damage and there is more security concerns.

Having the entrance in the fixed up tower will enable us to easily control the security of the place.

As for the launcher, I would build one next to the manufacturing floor underground. We can extend retract it during storms and extend it when we need it. Training for space is typically done inside suits underwater, and we have that within walking distance. That part we really don’t need something special setup. Testing I assumed would be underground. I wouldn’t want to destroy anything uphere, nor let others know know when and what we are testing. Underground will provide that information.

Power requirements are under control right now, when we start to outgrow what we currently have we can then look at building a power plant of some sort.

Building some shelters and a medical center up here is fine, just be sure to account for the weather when it goes bad. It sucks when you barracks gets swept out to sea because the people building it were cheap.

In addition, we need some security badges. I figure we need a physical based one with a leyas signature. We can have an immutables use them and hand them to the gogs that inspect the badges and have leyas signatures intact.

As for you food project, I would suggest a greenhouse.

I have some information, It seems there are some giants rampaging around the lands. It also seems that they have a gunpowder and weapons manufacturing plant of some sort, run by warmongers dead. I have the location of this plant.

GoDart, We are going to need some sort of chemical plant for your ship building endeavors. This would be a good starting point, and one that is ready made. I think we should do a smash and grab. I don’t think we will need a distraction, I believe the tribe of lalder will be trying to destroy or capture everything. What we need is to be able to get in and out fast.

I want to do this by using two teams, a spotter team and a liberation team. The spotter team would be watching for the others that will come and start their distraction. When it starts, this team will radio in to the liberation team, made up primarily of your brezen stalkers. They will burst up either directly in the factory, if they can and it is safe, or directly outside the non entrance wall. I’ll send a guy that can take down the wall, if it comes to that. Then we load up the equipment, and if there is room the supplies for removal. We then hightail it out of there to a location were we can move a bit slower, covering our tracks. Perhaps by using the hover train tracks and the hover trucks would be good to cover our escape.

What do you guys think?

“I am pretty busy, but this seems like a long term investment well worth it. Plus, what are these guys doing with guns? Are they undead giants or something? Odd.”

Day 3
Sober up
Godart takes stock of personal and supplies on Mag Buskt Island.
1 “right-hand scientist” Hekeriki, 4 Scientists, 50 Immutable Goblin Gunners, 100 Brezan Stalkers, 15 Immutable Drivers ,15 Hover Trucks, 9,491 tons scrap, 30 lbs zela dust, less than a month of food?, enough water?, some defenses…
“Huh, so much to do… I guess I should move my main base from Port Unen.”

Day 4 to Day 14
Have Hekeriki explore and map Mag Buskt Island. Get permission to talk to the Mag Buskt.

Use the Hover Trucks and drivers to move the personal effects and the “rest of the stuff” from Port Unen “Bunker” to Mag Buskt. Over the water. (Which can be done, but I figure it is going to be slow as heck.) Should take two trips. Lock up most of the “Bunker”.

Have the Gunners set up temp housing from “rest of the stuff” as it comes in. Have them reconstruct the “green house” supplies into a “pink house”.

“1 Acre equals 43 560 Square Feet…”

1 Acre Indoor “Leafy Green Pink House” : 40,000lbs of food per day or 20 tons per day (14,600,000lbs per year or 7,300 tons per year) Meaning that it feeds 7,300 people per year.
Material and space requirements:
1 acre of space for building
knowledge of hydroponics, plumbing and electronics
17,500 ten watt “pink” led lights
175,000 watts (less than 1 MW) for power
.08 gallons of water per square foot or 3 500 gallons of water per day
About 9 000 plants for lettuce, herbs and other leafy greens (grows in one month)

“Looks like we going to have to dig some more. I’m figuring it’s going to take 146 tons of our scrap and 2 weeks to prototype this design and we can cut that in half (73 tons) next time if we need to build another one. But we going to need a factory next time to build anything at all. Plus, Hekeriki figures its going to take 3 months for us to work out the problems. We only done this on 1/3 scale before. So… the first 3 months are most likely only going to be at 33 percent production. 6.6 tons a day… enough to start with. Though, for health reasons, we going to have to expand into other food types. Still this is a good short term fix.”

“That reminds me, going to have to be more flexible and more complete for my… whatever my food drive thingy… my head hurts. Looks like raiding those giants is looking like a way to get more machinery.”

Map would be provide, and instructions to not disturb/upset the locals. Mag Buskt would have been notified of GoDarts request to speak.

I have reviewed more of the intel , It seems that supplies are on the first floor, and the equipment we want is on the second.

There are giants and there are undead. They may or may not be working together.

I believe your stalkers would be best suited to tunnel a path underground, to which we can utilize your hover trucks to move the materials and equipment underground until we are in a safe area. Then we should use the hover train tracks to expedite our path back. The biggest issue is going to be moving the equipment from the second floor to the first.

I have an idea for that, I have a few extra servos and we can use them to winch the equipment down to the first floor. If there isn’t a place to do this normally, then I will blow a hole in the floor.

The big thing is that we have to secure the location until we get everything out. Your men would be instrumental in this.

Also, we need to keep the exact task secret until we are en route. The UTR has been appearing to close to our activities for my liking.

If you aren’t going to be using your bunker in Unen, I think we both should use it as a staging area for the activities we have.

#11

“Sounds like a plan and I’ll bring what you need. I’ll be ready in three days and I’m in the middle of something else.”

Throws OtO a key

“In the mean time, take this to open the bunker in Port Unen and mind the mess. I got guys coming back from a mission.”

Jamie returns after a few days away Finds Godart “Good to see you again. I have contacted a few of my former coworkers and they would like to help. First is Doctor Leonard Bones, not only is he an excellent medical doctor specializing in both Earther and Olgog physiology, but he is also a genius with fuel. His previous work with military grade fuel and additives makes him an excellent addition to the team. Second here is Engineer Huang Shi, she used to design engines for Gunpods, I doubt you will find anyone better in the Goblin Lands when it comes to constructing and maintaining engines. Last but not least, Doctor Azai Yukimura, this man is in the top of his field in metallurgy, if anyone can design the hull plating of a spaceship to prevent burn up it is that man. Of course I can also help as an engineer assisting Mr. Huang. We stand ready to help you make this ship not only fly, but be the pride of all the Goblin Lands. Both the UTR and the DC will wet themselves with envy. We are all very excited.”

#13

“Welcome back and welcome aboard. We’re a bit short on staff. You guys can team up with my head engineer and scientist Hekeriki. She design the prototype for our spaceship and mag launcher.”

Godart leans closer to Jaime.

“Don’t mind her bad attitude, she traded all her charm for her big egg head.”, whispers Godart.

smack on head

“Ouch…”, cries Godart.

Hekeriki takes her magi-fist off her left hand. “A pleasure to me you Mr. Jaime and your friends. I see their parents were fans of ancient myths and legends. Do any of you have any questions?”

#14

Jamie smiled “Tons, but we can go over it while we all work. Basic things I am sure our supervisors can handle without much of a problem. We will need to be caught up on current projects, schematics on the areas that we are working on etc. Usual stuff really. I will fully admit that I am the dumbest of the group here but I have worked on many high technological items so dumb is relative heh heh. Dr. Bones might need the most indepth information due to the fact that rocket fuel can be a bit…volatile so we need to make sure that his work area is quiet and well equipped. Otherwise just catch us up on what you have technically and we will see what we can do to help. Very exciting stuff, happy to be part of the team.”

#15

Lorne Harlas, eager both to improve his reputation in the area, and to get a front row seat for the launch, has once more returned to visit his associates on the Isle of Mag Buskt. Upon arriving, he seeks out Godart, as even while wearing new identity, he cannot seem to feel completely at ease around OtO since the crystal incident.

Finding Godart, he offers a casual earther handshake and says,

“Greetings again friend, I’m willing to provide security detail, or any services you are in need of. Whatever the task, by Jove, I will see it done! Erm…my one stipulation is a good view of the proceedings, you know, an interview after the launch perhaps. Something for the museum you understand, as you and your team are making groundbreaking progress for the Olgog race, it must be adequately commemorated in the proper way.”

#16

To Lord Blake Jorn Ar’Lash of Chooru

“Well, I think can find a use for your talents.”

Godart stretches of arms.

“Alright, if you follow Hekeriki, we can get started.”

(OOC: Give me until Friday night, I’m trying to recruit some nightmare penguins from Lord Mada. Because, sort-of smart penguins that can use tech with being exposed to zela wrist bands would cool. I don’t know if it’s smart but I do know it would be cool.)

#17

Lord Mada makes his way to Mag Buskt Island on the back of his Falsewyrm. He circles a few times, looking for an area to land where he can easily find Godart. Once on the ground, Mada releases his nightmare penguins from his cloak and looks for Godart. Upon finding him, Lord Mada gestures to his nightmares, “What do you need my servants to do? Let me know, and I’ll get them started.”

Once the nightmares begin working, Lord Mada will pull Godart aside and say, “I assume you are aware that my nightmares are not the most graceful of creatures. I take no responsibility for any mishaps caused by their clumsiness.”

(OOC: The penguins will have their armor if you’d prefer it. It’ll increase their strength a bit if there’s any heavy-lifting they need to do.)

#18

“Alright, I’m going to try to keep this simple. Here are your cards. It will get you pass security checkpoints. Don’t loss them and don’t trade them like collectibles. The security check points are also keyed to your bio sign and your card.”

"When this ship is finished, there’s going to be guys or gals or what not that will try to prevent this launch. There are three sections I would like to focus on:

The Spaceship

The Launcher

The Tower

I would like Jaime’s group to work with Hekeriki and her engineering team on the spaceships. We’re going to have Mag Buskt tribe help. We got zela wrist bands for them so things don’t blow up or fry out. We’re going to work on the one gog-seater. Follow me."

Godart leads you inside a hanger underground.

“As you can see from these plans and the partial frame that has been built, this triangle-dart thing is about twice the size of EEF Gunpod, cost the same ghaz wise and will be 5 times tougher than it. The reason why it has to be that tough is because it needs to survive Mach 10 speed (40 Fly from the launcher?). It has chemical/hyrogen engines for maneuver in space and scramjets to help push it into orbit. These engines alone are no where near enough to get it to space by itself. Ultra tech this thing isn’t (It’s High Tech).”

#19

“Next is the launcher part.”

Godart leads you outside the hanger to the tower above the ground. He points to a spot by the base of tower where a huge blast door, recently constructed, is. Godart hands Lord Mada a huge roll of paper.

“This is where we going to extend the launcher from and where Lord Mada and his crew come in. You’re going to build the 2 or so mile electromagnetic launcher track that will do the heavy work. We constructing a mega-horsepower linear motor that will convert hundreds of megawatts from the powerplants here to juice this line. What’s left of the gang is working on that. They’ll help you with the launcher when they are done, Lord Mada. Warning though… this track will shoot this spaceship up in air at Mach 4 in less than 60 seconds. We’re going to need to run tests to make the area around the track safe-ish.”

#20

“Let’s go inside the tower.”

Godart guides you inside pass the security check points and up to the top level. It’s a mess as a stout female gog sets up equipment.

"This is where most of the coronation, err coordinate… uhm… cool directing stuff for this mission will take place. This is Naeil. She will be overseeing the launch and making sure the spaceship reaches mach 10 after it leaves the electrotagit-magnetic - "

“Yes, the electromagnetic launcher. Relax Godart. Who are these guys?”, sneers Naeil.

“Outside help. This guy here is Lord Blake Jorn Ar’Lash of Chooru, he’s going to work with you.”

"Yes. I’ve meet him before. I meant the peng - "

“They’re not working with you. Don’t worry.”

“Good!”, beams Naeil. “Lord Blake you will assist me here with the some of the logistics such as water, food, shelter and the training area. We’re couple of buildings short and I would like to get working!”
